    I rlly want to study biotechnology but I didn’t study chemistry! Do you thinks it’s still possible to pursue it with just biology as a main science?

    • @BT.ed9
      @BT.ed9  ปีที่แล้ว

      There might be something with chemistry to a lesser extent, or a very specific field within biotechnology. Jobs might be a bit easier to find in this case then a study program (relatively speaking). Try it out i would say. Look into job description and apply to those that are more suitable. You might get get a chance. I would try it out. Best of luck mate👍

    Hey man, industrial microbiology student from the US here. I've been wanting to pursue biotechnology as I saw the potential and innovations in the field. Unfortunately, I've been having trouble getting a lot in addition to my education. Will I be fine on entry level if I phrase my transferable skills on my resume?

    • @BT.ed9

      Sorry for the late reply. Yes you should be fine. I would say this tho, most biotechnologists including myself would have to apply more(struggle is to be expected). And transferable skills on your Resumee will always assist you in job application process yes.

    I'm about to apply to UC Davis and am majoring in biotech. Did most of my lower/foundation coursework at a community college (general chem, bio, and general ed). I have a 3.9 gpa but am pretty scared I'll be way out of my depth at a high quality school... Is a bachelors in biotech worthwhile? I don't want to go to school for another four years to get a masters...

    • @BT.ed9
      @BT.ed9  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well masters is preferred by most companies. And the type of work/ salary with masters is better and different then bachelors. In countries where the Industry is developed, it is Worth pursuing biotechnology (keep in mind the future looks good but the infustry is still not as developed like some engeering industries like mechanical/ robotics etc. And as fas as i know if your bachelors is 4 years long then masters would be just 1.5-2 years (in most countries)... Hope it helped

      Websites, dont know, but u can surely look into articles in different magazines, and publications... and for concepts and prep, i would recommend books like bioprocess technology, intro to biotechnology etc.... remember, biotech is a mixture, so learn abt the basics of other Disciplines, and that will carry you throught your biotech journey....

      just study nursing. seriously go to a career fair for students at any school where nursing is a thing. there's always people looking to hire nurses. and there always will be

    • @BT.ed9
      @BT.ed9  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Stable salary in relative terms is possible in both the fields, more so in nursing i would say. Biotech is constantly evolving, different types of hardships, uncertainties can not be avoided. Nursing is always in demand and isnt necessarily or atleast not heavily dependant on the industry like biotech, and nursing is and always would be in demand, and the type of work isnt changing that often. People lose their jobs more in biotech then in nursing.
      Keeping all that and more in mind, it is your decision, which way you would want to go.
      Think about the fact that you would probably be spending your 35-45 years in that field, and then chose your field. Best of luck

    I'm stuck between biotechnology and bioinformatics which one to choose to do masters can you give me an idea which one is better

    • @BT.ed9
      @BT.ed9  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Biotech is nice, but Bioinformatics is booming as well. As far as i know, there are more people needed in Bioinfo then in biotech. In both of these fields you cant go wrong, but if i had to chose, dont know what i would do. So i would suggest that you go with the field that interests you more. Look at some job offers, and you will see which field is more in demand at the moment.
      Wish you the best of luck

    • @BT.ed9
      @BT.ed9  ปีที่แล้ว

      To some degree yea, like Evaluation of results or some data administration, or something with the management etc. But i think in the beginning at least in most cases you are required to do so in the lab. It can change with time and experience...

    • @BT.ed9

    Would it be worth it to do biotechnology in China?

      China is one of the leading countries in biotech. But two things to be considered, your interests, and what exactly qould you be doing. In my opinion there are sectors within biotech industry that wouldnt help much in your career development, eg production. RnD is mich better for example in that regard. Thats just my opinion

    • @BT.ed9

    • @BT.ed9

      Anything with applied is for applications in the Industry. This surely goes for biology as well. So with applied biology you do have applications for your field in the Industry.
