there is a floater in the toilet tank and it only goes up to a certain height before it stops the after from flowing in, putting bricks in the toilet does displace the water meaning less water is pumped into the tank. She's esentially saving 2 bricks of water per flush haha.

You really need to research how a brick in the toilet saves money. Bit disappointing that you can't figure it out.

Most fill valves on toilets have a screw where you can set the water level, so it makes the brick useless as you can just set the maximum amount the tank fills
