Filipe D that’s why I bought the RTR, it’s going to either be a body for one of my custom rigs or I’m going to upgrade the whole rig and use it as a trail beater or as an extra rig when I go out crawling. I’m confident this thing can be made into a decent lil trail truck.
@@TomleyRC Dude, I bought the WPL C24 a while ago and built it with my father. It was really fun! 😃 And, after we finished it and bashed it a bit, I told him it was a gift for him, for father's day. 😊
From what I heard the kit version includes soft tires with it instead of the hard. I bought one a few days ago. It was so cheap I had to buy. For the price of a battery I’ll get an entire rig. I’m excited to see it.
Tomley RC I wanted it for the body, but if it ends up being something I can customize I might end up upgrading the hell out of it, bobbing the bed and making it into something a little better that box stock. I tend to take my rigs to another level. I’ve got about 6 SCX10II kits and none of them are even close to stock, there’s 4 frames and tons of stock links, skids, shocks etc in a big 60 gallon tote all brand new components that I’ve taken and replaced with upgraded parts on all of mine. I could probably build 3 or 4 complete trucks with all the stock take offs I have accumulated lol.
yup, MN-D90, with oil shocks and the front wheels weighted (I used the fayee rims so it's wider) is a much different beast than stock. knew to go there with it before even building, just for watching videos of them running. also made a steering link to hit the right side instead of left so it has less bump steer. to get the suspension right did require drilling and tapping the frame rails, easy enough, totally worthwhile.
I'm not sure if I should cancel this order and wait for the wpl. But I guess the mn model needs a buddy of the same size to trail with. I'll take them all! Specially if they have Toyota shells!
Which ESC/Controller do you recommend if upgrading to proportional? You should do a basics video showing how to correctly connect the existing wires to the new circuit board.
Great unboxing mate, think these kinda rigs are good for upgrading with scale touches to them, like you have done in the past on Rc Rigs,Ive got a MN-90 coming from banggood , you have inspired me to start doing scale weathering 😁 so am getting the MN-90 to do my own weathering like you do mate 😁, not really fussed about performance, getting it for the Looks, I'll probably will upgrade to proportional steering but that's about it as long as it goes and I can use it on a trail and mess about 😜 it's a great budget scale Rig, great unboxing video ✌😁🤘
Cheers Tony. With some nice weathering (you are really good at it!) these look really nice just on display. And much cheaper than a static model! Cheers for the support as always Tony 👍
for me, PASS! MN-D90 was too rear-heavy to begin with and would back flip going uphill. with Fayee 6 spoke rims wrapped 2 layers 2 mm solder, not a problem now. never ran the stock spring tube "shocks", gave it oil filled when assembling. earlier WPL kits have their problems, too much slop in the axle bevel gears being the worst one, brittle plastic especially C-series lower shock mounts. waiting on a C-14 to beast out on a budget, dual 130 motor power, tougher heavier wider JJRC axles (diffs locked), the wider offset Fayee rims+tires (fronts wrapped 1 layer), 5mm longer shock rods for some extra flex. the axles+rims being 3/4" wider than stock WPL stuff will have a little more leverage to make more flex happen, and less prone to side tip overs. should be a pretty good performing build for the 45 bucks total spent. my 4th WPL type build and probably my last, they are what they are.
Yes agree...the MN90 was not good out the box. As for the WPL quality, the early stuff was quite bad in places, but luckily they seem to be making improvements all the time. The new C34 looks like it's even better. I have one on the way I think.... hopefully be here soon!
i dont understand why they move the battery to the back if they still give us that small battery, its already good the placement of the battery in the front with the open hood like mn90 version
Few questions, are MN a different company to WPL? Which is better? A WPL Land Cruiser or an MN version? Finally, is it safe to buy on banggood? I've never shopped on there. Thanks for your time.
WPL are different to MN, and generally WPL are the better quality. The only negative about Banggood is that they don’t pack stuff very well, so you may experience some damage (I’ve only ever had 1 item damaged in 12 months)
You said nothing about the steering. I just got one of these and I found the first thing you need to upgrade is the server for the steering because as is out of the box it is all or nothing and other then that it went pretty well. I think with the right upgrades and shifting the battery box to the tray in the back above the back wheels this could compeet with any other moor expencive rock cruisers.
Sorry but it looks so ugly with the really bright orange eheh I think I’m gonna get the mn-90, do you think I should get the WPL c24 or should I get the MN90? I want to get a rtr version, I’m not a modder
Tomley RC Garage oh I didn’t mean to say “I want to get a kit version” I meant to say I want to get the rtr version. So is the rtr c24 still better than the rtr mn90? If modding the trucks are easy then I will probably mod it later. I also want to use the trucks in the sand at the beach (not in the water of course), so I need the one that is sand ready
I hope All MN model has a spare parts like a WPL model.. Even the wpl parts can be use for the mn model Rc.. But some parts are different like the bridge axles they are little bit short then the MN model.. I wanna use metal bridge axles for my MN but they don't have a metal version for the MN model.. It's so sad
Mine was back ordered as well. Now I check the website and it went from shipping today to tomorrow and now 22 days processing? I think I might skip this and order another wpl c34 if it doesn't ship by Monday. Not really excited about the mn45 anyways.
I myself am a fan the MM 90, the MM 45 is very childish after my feeling. He is so from a children's movie, I really will not buy it. Little without MM models I think ..
You are the best reviewer for these cheap chinese cars. You are the only one that i trust some months now.
Awesome to know dude. I like to show everyone that you can get some decent stuff on a budget
I have so many mn and wpl trucks now. I think I'm addicted.
Nothing wrong with that :)
The first step is to admit it 😂😂😂
I like the body style of this one. Really tempting. Damn it 😁

Looks pretty nice, dude! Great bashing! 😃
But I definitely agree, the kit versions are always better! 😊
The Kit was released the day after this was sent to me lol. Kit's are much better, although some people like to just run stuff and not build them 👍

Yes, the kit´s the one to get - imagine one of these with a 180 motor, oil shocks and a repositioned battery box...
The kit will be better. I think moving the battery will make a difference as well. A little heavy on that back end!

I see a new truck in my future
😁👍Looks cool I have to say a tamiya wild willy driver would look sweet in this model!!
Yes...painted a nice 70's style 👍
That FJ45 looks really good scale wise. I had a 1967 FJ45, it was the wagon, a couple of the guys had the pickup.
Dang it Tomley! Got another rc to shop for🥓🤙😎
Sorry 😂
Why did I have a feeling it was just the same underneath... o well at least it's a Toyota! Can't wait for the wpl fj40.
The WPL will destroy this thing! It's ok to look at...but not difference in performance to the MN90. Well, the rear battery mount is a bad design!

Just a new body shell tbh
Yep...new body. Nothing else. Would have like to see a 180 motor in there and a servo!
