- Paul shows off his favorite alternatives to the Pilot G2 refill and how to adapt the Retrakt to accept the Pilot Precise V5 RT/Juice UP refill. These refills also function with the Bolt G2, Render K, and INK Rollerball.
Yeah, thrilled to hear the Precise V5 RT can work. I like the G2 but I've had some "cheapy" V5's sitting in my desk at work 'cause they write so well. Nice to know I can put the refills in my Retrakt.
Thanks for the informative videos on your channel! Just made an order for a Retrakt V2. Compatibility with the Precise V5 RT refill sealed the deal for me.
I’ve found the drier G2 refills work great for sketching. Less smearing and the .5mm can still get some fine detail hatching in there. I write very small to label sketches (product designer) so I use the .38mm G2’s quite a bit as well. Nice to have a .7 for doing contrast outlines as well. The V5 is a nice writer for sure but can smear if you are a spaz like myself. V5’s definitely have more color options as well

What makes you choose the EDK vs the Retrakt for daily carry? Just curious :-)
Personally it just depends on HOW I'm carrying the pen. If it's in my pants pocket, it's almost always the EDK just because it's smaller and doesn't bind up as much. But in that case I switch to a Parker Style refill. If I'm carrying my messenger bag or a backpack then I carry a Retrakt.
Karas Pen Company thanks for the reply! I was able to pick up one of the special release GroovED EDK pens and love it. I’ve been carrying that one lately, but am still looking forward to getting a Retrakt.
Will the Zebra Sarasa refills work? They look similar to a G2, but I know small differences can make or break it.
The Zebra Sarasa refills are not compatible with our pens.

Does jotter fit in these refills ?
can you use any point g2 in these? bold point?
Yes any tip size of the Pilot G2 refill will work natively in these pens.
Can you show alternative refills for the EDK?
Parker Style Refills fit just fine, but I add a little masking tape around them to prevent them rattling inside the barrel.
