  • Joseph talks through a WILD ride on a super young and green warmblood Viking EDI. This is a cool ride where Joseph is micd up and talking through his ride. He works on balancing Impulsion in order to connect the young dressage horse back to front.

This is fantastic. True proof that the honest and best riders don't dictate through the horses head and mouth, but through their bodies and brains. That youngster has a ton of style.

Thank you! I always like to put the real stuff out there. He is very special and very green so it’s not the easiest ride for now but I think will be spectacular. :)

Talented horses still need thoughtful trainers like this! Great gaits and great riding.

There's something super exciting about riding a young horse. I can see how the breeding of the horse provides some pretty amazing natural movement. Viking has a lot going for him.
Watching this bought back some happy memories of my first wild rides on my horse. I do want another horse. I'm working towards it. Not a young horse, this time an older, more seasoned horse... just like me an older seasoned lady.

Super enjoyable to watch. Forward with ground cover is one of the best things you could let him do, and what most trainers don’t let young horses do. It can feel sketchy, because there is always the chance he will go forward right over those hedges if he gets able to his shoulders past his ribcage. Young horses can be so “rubbery” and “bendy!”😂 such fun!

I’m halfway through, and I’m impressed that you are letting him find his balance with out trying to keep him over flexed or round. Good riding! What a wonderful example of a young dressage horse. Can we ask that we get updates on him as you train him? 😍

Great horse. Powerful, short back. Beautiful. And you give sooo much confidence to that young horse. Enjoy this time together. ❤ And don't leave the arena😅....maybe he becomes an eventer as well 🤗. There are horses with multiple talents at a very high level...like Zauberdeyk f.e... a small sweet chestnut as well 🙃.
🍀🌞🍀 Have a nice day. Your place looks beautiful.

When do you decide it's more versus less helpful to help young horses by letting them move out and forward? I feel like I had some trainers telling me to get my horse out and forward and then some telling me to contain my horse more. Is it dependent on what they give you that day?

What a gorgeous boy! I'm so impressed that this is only 3 weeks in- Joseph you are doing wonderful work with him. He seems willing and eager and and it's terrific that he is coming up under your patient tutelage.
