The beach is similar to the one in Skiathos Island, the Lalaria beach which I think is yet better ! Congratulations very beautiful your videos!

Hello guys. My partner just bought tickets for an August trip to the Cyclades. This will be our third trip. Skipping Mykonos this time (been twice) and instead trying some new islands (been to Santorini, Ios, Paros). We're planning Milos, Folegandros and Naxos (been once and loved Plaka Beach - stunning!) Wondering what you think of Milos? Any canceled ferries in Folegandros due to meltemi winds? Do you think we'll be bored three days in Folegandros (looks so small and remote)? Did the Chora stay lively till midnight at least for dinner and drinks? Thanks for the videos and any advice.

Thank you for your comment and for watching. Milos is wonderful, it has great sights and a lot of good food. It is one of the main volcanic islands in the same volcanic rim as Santorini, so there are some volcanic activity there. We didn't experience any cancelled ferries due to meltemi. Nowadays the Sea Jet Ferries are pretty robust. We did not get bored in Folegandros, the Chora is wonderful and lively and has a lot of restaurants and bars busy all the way through midnight. We hired a scooter and went all the way to the end of the island to smaller villages with great eateries. But when you travel between the islands with ferries, always count a day or two for a buffer before any flights so you are not stranded because of strikes or winds.

Thanks for your reply. We definitely don’t want to risk missing our return flight to New York so we’ll be back in Athens area our last night in Greece. Do you have any suggestions where to stay along the coast near Athens, any nice seaside village or beach town we could spend the last day? We prefer not to stay in Athens town since we’ve already done the sights.
By the way, I see you are in Mexico now and visited the coast around Puerto Vallarta. We have a condo in PV and hope to retire there part-time. It’s a very gay friendly town and the Mexican people are so kind. Someday we will follow in your footsteps and check out all the places you’re seeing. Enjoy!

We haven't stayed outside of Athens, but it seems that Vougliameni is a nice area on the coast outside of Athens. We didn't go to PV as we thought it is too touristy and built up. We opted for Sayulita which already was a bit too busy and loud. We prefer to Oaxaca coast, it's more quiet and simple. But someday we might visit you guys...

We stayed in Kamares, a lovely sleepy village with occasional excitement when the ferry came in. Wherever you stay, you will need a car or a scooter. If you go in high season, book ahead, we found none on site...
