Also, a lot of people seem to forget that certain players within the squad didn't get a proper break this summer. Hello from Lithuania Charles, few questions: Any chance for Arsenal to go for Bobby Firmino? Do you think Ben White will win his position back? I think Timber at RB is overall better and more versatile player, Ben White is more naturally CB for me, and if Saliba goes to Real, he would take that position
While White returning is good news, much appreciation should be going to Timber. I think Timber missed a lot of attention in the back 4 due to Lewis-Skellys' emergence and the Saliba Gabriel duet. Even though he returned from a serious injury he delivered some top performance wherever he was deployed. Thanks to his versatility Arsenal managed to cope with various absence issues in the back line. Timber should have been managed carefully but due to White and Tomiyasu all being injured for a long time, he just played in every position in the back line with out any rest. White returning means we can finally manage game time on Timber.
Hi Charles, hope you are well. Just thinking about the summer transfer window and I think we really need to be on the ball with this one (pun indended). Because it looks like we are going to end up trophyless (again). I do worry about players heads being turned (Saliba to Real links ect). I feel we need to get the sporting director sorted asap and then make some big profile signings as soon as the window opens. After the lacklustre January window, we need to show our top players that we are serious about winning things, which, in turn, should hopefully help players commit their futures. The last thing we will need going into next season is taking too long to sign top players and having players being potentially restless/distracted. We need and want a team that has had a pre season together, with the new players included. All focused and fully ready.
With the limited amount of players on the forward line. We would need to rely more on the defenders to score from set peices. So Arsenal get that right. 👍🏾
Because they want to increase his value before selling him in the summer. Arteta made it clear that we’re short at the end of the summer and then again in Jan. Viera isn’t a teenager, he was bought for more than £30m and was part of the squad for 2 seasons. Now he’s loaned and can’t even start for his previous club that he’s on loan at? He’s done with Arsenal. Clearly just another ‘body’ to Arteta. Nwaneri is a better fit than Viera and has had a greater impact in a couple of months than he had in 2 seasons. The writing is on the wall.
Is he any worse than Raheem ? The point is id rather have him on the bench than an academy kid who ain’t ready or another defender… the muddled thinking at the very top of AFC is baffling
On the set piece and stoke city nonsense I was watching a mesut ozil assist compilation and was surprised how many of his assists were from set pieces which isn’t something you’d attribute to an AW team.
Hey Charles 😃 Dubai, my #6 is to get Sterling up to speed with how we play, so that he becomes effective. At the moment he's not much more than an extra body because he takes too many players on and eventually loses the ball, or takes too many touches and loses the opportunity. He's not Jesus, he can do a bit of a mazy run, but not a long one and not a dozen that come off in a game. Losing possession because you've taken on a challenge that only has a 0.01% chance of success is a waste of possession, keep the ball by passing it backwards if you need to, at least we can then try a route with a higher percentage chance of success. Team bonding can help Sterling be more team minded.
In terms of formation change for the remainder of the season i dont really think we can do much other than maybe use tierney as a winger to give some of the wingers a rest or maybe if we are winning push mls up and let calafiori fill in at left back. I also dont quite agree with you on the notion that we cant really put pressure on nwaneri because he is 17. Yamal is just as young and he is carrying barcelona. I think nwaneri is ready to take responsibility for the next 6 weeks so until we get martinelli and saka back. It is also crucial that sterling steps up - i dont expect him to be a key player but an assist and a goal every once in a whole wont go amiss. Up the gunners!
Hey Charles, when Ben is fully fit, I’d personally like to see Timber moved up to the right wing and White at RB. Timber is skillful, quick, good around the opposition box and can put a decent ball in. What are your thoughts?
Formation change would be a disaster at this point as we would lose fluidity, speed of movement, passing et al and would slow our game down a fair bit which would set us back and put us at risk of drawing and losing games and hence finishing outside top 4
Hi Charles. We all are disappointed with the Newcastle result but the players need a break after playing so many games in January. I don't understand the negativity from some of the fans towards the team going to Dubai and that they're being rewarded for failure. It's six days of training, not a vacation. If they stayed at home they would be going London colney to train anyway. Only difference is the weather is warm. I've never been to Dubai so maybe I'm missing something. Just seems to me that some fans will always find something to be negative about and jump at the chance to criticise the team, arteta and the club.
Charles, I think you're being harsh on Timber. You're basically saying that when White comes back, he's straight into the team. Timber played a lot at left back this season when Saka was fit. When he got moved back to right back, not long after, Saka got injured, and he had Martinelli, Nwaneri, Trossard, and Sterling playing in front of him. Ben White has never had anyone else playing in front of him other than Saka. There will be no difference from Timber to White. It's just more depth, but we won't have as many games as we have had so far.
Gm Charles, the individuals who have a ln issue with the Arsenal team going to Dubai is ironically the reason they need to go. The lack of compassion and love that so called fans have for the Arsenal players is shocking...After what the team has been through this season, I cannot fathom how real fans have an issue with the players getting a break....Being away from some of Arsenal fans is quite possibly the best medicine for the team at this time
Whilst I agree that team bonding exercises are important, saying "I know the players have bought in to it, I know because I've asked them" is a tad bit naive. Even if they don't buy into it, they aren't going to say that...
Watts, the fans are not happy and the unfortunate bit is they are directing their displeasure at the team instead of the ownership and the Board. Arsenal team has been thin in its attack for 3 seasons now. Saka injury is down to below being overplayed. The same will happen to the rest in f not addressed
Nawazo, you mistake the point of The Arsenal, (and every other professional football team). The point is that they are businesses, there to make profits for their investors. Your role is either as a direct customer, (if you attend the games and pay entrance fees), or as a consumer if you don't. If you pay a streaming service or PPV TV you are a valued consumer but if you watch illegally or for free you are not. Your dreams and desires either way are of minimal importance.
Here’s the thing though: Saka hasn’t really been overplayed in the context of what the best players in the world do. Salah: very natural comparison… up until Saka got injured they were basically at the same accumulation of minutes on the pitch. I don’t think anyone’s going to disagree that another forward would help though
Going to Dubai is a welcome idea but not the immediate solution. The team needs depth in their forward line and some one to help in the middle of the park whenever Partey , Odega or Rice need rest. In short, the main problem needs fixing.
The Merino signing still baffles me, as we already had an 8 in his mould in Zinchenko. It's Zinchenko's true position, yet we have never played him there. Crazy.
Hey Charles, love the content as always. I was just wondering what your thoughts are regarding this “unprecedented window” in the summer I keep hearing about. Could you give a realistic “unprecedented window” of names or even a budget that you believe is actually possible? Thanks
Hear me out, Calafiori at RW, good at carrying, shooting, tracking back, decent at passing + an aerial threat with Tierney whipping in crosses from LW😄
Every player thats injured is suddenly the second coming. Odegaard and now Ben White who didn't start when Tomiyasu was fit. He's suddenly the key to it all. Basically the team relies on Saka, end of.
At the end of the day, Liverpool are potentially 9 points ahead, so if Arsenal win their remaining games, they'll still be 6 points behind, if Liverpool only lose at Arsenal. Last season, we were ahead by 5 points in February. The Dubai trip last year helped kickstart the end of winter when we were already first. It was April when City got ahead because of lack of rotation by Arteta. We have the team this year, but our chance has gone. That was last year. There are so many teams who will be stronger next year.
Firstly they said this about us two seasons ago (about we missed our chance and everyone will be better)…we are still waiting for that. Secondly stop spreading misinformation about Arsenal. We were never top, last year Liverpool were top the majority of the season. We were actually in 4th after 20 games. We rallied late, Liverpool were 5 points ahead of us and we finished 7 points ahead of them! That’s a 12 point swing! Stop having such a pessimistic view of your team. Every season we have improved and with the injuries we have had, we have no right to even be second.
Lol... Get your facts right bruv. We returned from Dubai last year, 5 points behind Liverpool... Played them on the 5th of February knowing that a win would cut it to 2 points and a defeat would extend the deficit to 8 points and leave it technically insurmountable! Don't create dodgy facts to support your skewed narrative!
@@AlphaIjie Sorry not dodgy facts. I was researching but was looking at 2023/2024 season table but it was February 2023 not 2024, hence my mistake. Apologies. The rest of my point stands. Liverpool are not going to mess up this season. They're too strong in all areas. Goals are coming from everywhere. 9 points is too much. We can only hope that they are fighting on too many fronts and get fatigued. But I doubt it. Our chance was last year. And given Arteta's aversion to buying a decent striker, we'll continue to suffer.
@@gentleken7864 Arteta wants a striker bro. We were in for sesko in the summer. Then went for Watkins in Jan. And it’s clear Arteta wants Isak. We can’t just through money anywhere, that’s how you end up with zirkzee and hojlund and over 100m down the drain. The right guy wasn’t available. If we don’t win it this year Arteta will finish his frontline in the summer and then he will have no excuses but to win or there will be pressure for him to leave. Don’t forget Liverpools best players are old and we don’t know what Man City will do next year. You should look up what Managers like Klopp and Ancelotti were doing in their first 6/7 years as managers because it wasn’t that great…but then they became serial winners. (I’m talking bottling 5point leads with 3 games to go bad). Keep the faith.
Hope the Arsenal players are enjoying watching other teams advance in the FA Cup. Seriously though, a Dubai break is no substitute for a full squad. The Dubai training cannot mask the same problems occurring year in, year out. They will be asking themselves, how has the Arsenal squad progressed since last time they were in Dubai?
Takeaways from the FA Cup weekend… As flawed as it is, VAR is needed. The referees and linesmen aren’t good enough without it (Maguire….) The pain and annoyance at our inexplicable loss to United came to the surface again. With Liverpool, Chelsea & Spurs gone this was such a winnable trophy. And finally, can someone explain why Stoke City fans verbally abuse Aaron Ramsey for committing the crime of having his leg snapped in half by that caveman Shawcross? 15 years of this, so bizarre.
Should Arsenal get Spud's Son Heung Min as a cover for the wingers? IF Arsenal couldn't get Nico Williams, Son may be down the hill in his career but Son's profile as a player would suit us.
Cant you use Zinny or Lewis Skelly as left wing if Calafiori is back as left back? If White, Calafiori, Timber, Skelly, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinny, Tierney og Tommy are fit that is a lot of defenders and he can use some of them as wingers or midfield.
The legend YaYa Sanogo. If we get him were 100% winning the Champions League. Isak who, top scorer premier League with ease. I mean the scored four against Benfica, Benfica!
Its not rewarding failure but the reason they are in Dubai is because they failed. This trip to Dubai mid season is in danger of becoming the new Wenger end of season run. Remember how all the injured players would come back in March then Arsenal would go on a run when all the pressure was off giving us hope that next season would be better then just followed more of the same. I do think it is a bit different this break as tbh with the squad in the position they are in (no attacking options) they are coming back with no real trophy to aim for realistically.
We need to switch to a 3 5 2...defenders like MLS, CALAFIORI, tierney or even tierney that got a knack for attacking should play wing backs...trossard can play along side kai up front..rice ordegaard and partey mid..MLS and calafiori wing backs...timber,Big Gabi and Saliba...RAYA
Moving to the Emirates was the end of Arsenal FC, now they are a commodity, and fans are paying customers not treated like real fans anymore, very sad whats happened to this club. ,
Hey Charles 😃 I can see a few options to change up the team. 1) Move Trossard to the right and play Zinchenko in his place on the left. Zinchenko is good going forwards, as we know. MLS and Calafiori are fine to cover left back. 2) Move Trossard to the right and play Tierney in his place on the left. Don't demand Tierney run back to defend at full pace and he could stay fit. MLS, Gaby, Rice all on that side to defend so shouldn't need Tierney to race back. 3) Move Trossard to the right and play Kabia in his place on the left. Another player that's travelled to Dubai. 4) Butler-Oyedeji in either of the front 3 places. With 7 goals and 6 assists in 73% of the minutes in 10 games, I think MA is missing a trick by not playing him. Maybe Dubai will change that as he has travelled with the squad.
This unprecedented summer sounds all too familiar to back in the day when wenger had a war chest, all smoke and mirrors, unprecedented is a 300M summer with signings we need can I see that happening … no Isaak- 150M Nico-50M Zuba- 51M Garcia-26M Not to mention rest of the gaps we need to sort in the summer got to happen if we got any chance of some serious 🏆
I don't see the point in playing Tierney as a winger when attacking, we've seen how hard it is for Martinelli, Tierney doesn't stand a chance against PL defenders. I think its better to give a chance to some academy boys that have some real attacking threat. Roll the dice on one of them for a few games, it might pay off. If it doesn't, no loss
He’s not a great option I’d agree but he can certainly put a high quality ball into the box at least. I love him as a player and character, if you need a makeshift he’ll always give you his all.

I talked to Nikita Zadorov, who used to play for Kroenke's Colorado Avalanche and he told me that the reason Arsenal still did not win the league is because of the owners, they just do not care enough to see it through, I really did not want to believe him, especially seeing other teams under them being successful, but this January window really put things in perspective, I just cannot believe we signed NOBODY, its just not fair to Arteta, his staff, all the players, it is so much more pressure now on all of them to try to get the results we all expect. I believe in the team, but at some point it becomes unrealistic to get major trophies without help from the owners.

Do you think Ben White will win his position back? I think Timber at RB is overall better and more versatile player, Ben White is more naturally CB for me, and if Saliba goes to Real, he would take that position
White>Timber
Morning everyone.. I don’t rate Viera much but why didn’t we recall him given our predicament? Answers on a postcard please
Show what the club think of him i guest
You just answered your own question dude…
352, KT and timber wing backs. Saliba gabriel cala, KT rice partey odegaard timber, haverz trossard.
On the set piece and stoke city nonsense I was watching a mesut ozil assist compilation and was surprised how many of his assists were from set pieces which isn’t something you’d attribute to an AW team.
Hey Charles 😃
Dubai, my #6 is to get Sterling up to speed with how we play, so that he becomes effective.
The lack of compassion and love that so called fans have for the Arsenal players is shocking...After what the team has been through this season, I cannot fathom how real fans have an issue with the players getting a break....Being away from some of Arsenal fans is quite possibly the best medicine for the team at this time
Everyone is forgetting that Zinchenko started a midfielder. As an attacking-midfielder.
Whilst I agree that team bonding exercises are important, saying "I know the players have bought in to it, I know because I've asked them" is a tad bit naive. Even if they don't buy into it, they aren't going to say that...
If he studied how to take off players he will work for us cz his crosses are fantastic 😊😊
If Havertz gets injured we could use Califiori as a striker . He’s big good touch and can score goals
I think this will be merino pre season
I hope for Sterling as well
Going to Dubai is a welcome idea but not the immediate solution.
Crazy.
Crazy take. Two different profiles.
Nah. Zinchenko is a ball playing creative guy. Merino is worse with the ball, worse passing but much stronger physically.
With Martinelli injured Arsenal could use Skelly as a left winger . He has pace and skills and good crosser with the ball . Trossard on the right
We should have got the jesus replacement in january and then gone for the main striker in summer .
Keep trusting the process
Seriously? The club doesn’t trust the process
Hey Charles, love the content as always. I was just wondering what your thoughts are regarding this “unprecedented window” in the summer I keep hearing about. Could you give a realistic “unprecedented window” of names or even a budget that you believe is actually possible? Thanks
I hope Arteta gives Ricardo a training session deployed as a striker and see if his young days are still in him
What about Reiss Nelson? Can we recall him?
Isn’t he injured currently?
Hear me out, Calafiori at RW, good at carrying, shooting, tracking back, decent at passing + an aerial threat with Tierney whipping in crosses from LW😄
4-4-2: Raya; MLS, Gabriel, Saliba, White; Calafiori, Rice, Partey, Timber, Merino, Havertz.
Every player thats injured is suddenly the second coming.
Odegaard and now Ben White who didn't start when Tomiyasu was fit. He's suddenly the key to it all.
Basically the team relies on Saka, end of.
Ben White played every week even when carrying knocks.
That's how vital he's been for us these past seasons. :)
Liverpool were top of the league and talking about a quadruple last year after winning the league cup…
I feel that Arteta will use Ben White as Rice's backup, a DM/CM, even...
The Six Nations is a great watch instead of the "no VAR" FA cup!!
18:00 see what i mean...next season next season fc...patrice evra was right i guess...
Takeaways from the FA Cup weekend…
As flawed as it is, VAR is needed. The referees and linesmen aren’t good enough without it (Maguire….)
The pain and annoyance at our inexplicable loss to United came to the surface again.
____White Saliba Gabriel____
Timber RIce Zinchenko
Odegaard Lewis-Skelly
Nwaneri
Havertz
Should Arsenal get Spud's Son Heung Min as a cover for the wingers? IF Arsenal couldn't get Nico Williams, Son may be down the hill in his career but Son's profile as a player would suit us.
Cant you use Zinny or Lewis Skelly as left wing if Calafiori is back as left back? If White, Calafiori, Timber, Skelly, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinny, Tierney og Tommy are fit that is a lot of defenders and he can use some of them as wingers or midfield.
Carlos Vela, Lucas Perez and Yaya Sanogo are free agents ; )
The legend YaYa Sanogo. If we get him were 100% winning the Champions League. Isak who, top scorer premier League with ease.
I mean the scored four against Benfica, Benfica!
Why not try Merino as a striker. Can try using him as an old fashioned 9 and be our Chris Wood. Don’t have many other options
Not sure what the fuss is about regarding Martinelli being injured. Partey at LW will solve it
Its not rewarding failure but the reason they are in Dubai is because they failed.
Anyone now if Charles Sagoe jr has travelled with the first team? Or any other Hale End boy?
I just can't believe after a year like last year.....we are in this position....
Just reminds me of the Wenger years unfortunately......smh
We need to switch to a 3 5 2...defenders like MLS, CALAFIORI, tierney or even tierney that got a knack for attacking should play wing backs...trossard can play along side kai up front..rice ordegaard and partey mid..MLS and calafiori wing backs...timber,Big Gabi and Saliba...RAYA
If only there was a time machine to go back to Highbury, where Arsenal were respected, not rediculed or mocked,
Other teams who win trebles and play game after game without rest I wonder how they do it. When it comes to Arsenal everyone crumbles.
My enthusiasm supporting this club has diminished so much.
I just have to think of my good friend who supports QPR
Why can't he change Calafiori from center back to a striker as how Him self was interviewed last time when he scored against wolves
Because he will be absolutely found out playing up front
For a club so skint at buying players, it would be criminal not to keep Tierney
Top four that's all I dream about with this owner.
Moving to the Emirates was the end of Arsenal FC, now they are a commodity, and fans are paying customers not treated like real fans anymore, very sad whats happened to this club.
,
As I said many times >This is NOT a serious club. Has ZERO ambition Facts 👎🏻
Hey Charles 😃
I can see a few options to change up the team.
Maybe Dubai will change that as he has travelled with the squad.
are...buy 2 players
We are really in a position of talking about Tierney as a forward and being the only real option......🤦🏽♂️....I just can't.....🤦🏽♂️
This unprecedented summer sounds all too familiar to back in the day when wenger had a war chest, all smoke and mirrors, unprecedented is a 300M summer with signings we need can I see that happening … no
Isaak- 150M
Nico-50M
Zuba- 51M
Garcia-26M
Not to mention rest of the gaps we need to sort in the summer got to happen if we got any chance of some serious 🏆
HIGH WATTAGE ⚡⚡⚡
Use Tierney as a winger. Sterling is useless.
WOULDNT it had been wiser to sen vieria to a club in portugal where he is a starter for a club...than coming on as a sub? this club eh...
What's wrong with Tierney? He always puts in a real shift and is probably the best crosser of a ball at the club.
He’s not a great option I’d agree but he can certainly put a high quality ball into the box at least. I love him as a player and character, if you need a makeshift he’ll always give you his all.
Isn't MLS a winger put Tierney as LB move scelly as LW?
and does it make sense training in hot weather...like really hot...then come back to a cold uk/london? make it make sense...
We literally did it last year and went 16-1-1… I think the trained and qualified staff know what they are doing.
@@joharadavies101 we got lucky last year with no injuries...i bet my last dollar (i say dollar because we promote soccer now) we wont get near this 16-1-1 you boast about..
@@MEDIAAMBASSADOR247 I’m optimistic, maybe I will be wrong but being pessimistic at this stage seems pointless to me 🤷♂️
brother...weve seen this movie before aint we? you remind me of ty...optimistic fc...next season fc....referee fault fc...i can go on...
Looks like we’re playing 5-4-1 for a while 😢
I've been watching Zubimendi for a while now i don't get the hype around him just a descent midfielder who is small in stature.not sure if the physical English game will suit him
It’s work on how we keep our top 4 spot! Nothing else. We all know we are winning nothing
Shift Timber at the right wing
😂 2nd behind a top of their form Liverpool team, injuries up there with the worst this season of any team, tiny team (no fault of players), desperate need for rest with all the competitions they’re in… cant help but laugh at comments slating being 2nd and having a rest, and I just think well done lads - you’re in the title race despite everything! What on earth are people on?
Tiny team? There's loads of 6ft plus players at the club. Saliba, G Magallhaes, Havertz, Rice, Calafiori, Merino, White, Tomiyasu (although permanently injured), Kiwior, Partey, even Raya despite not being the biggest 'keeper around.
Tiny in numbers though of course.
@@paulsabulis1695 yes, the numbers was the point I was trying to make. It even worsens chances of injury which we’ve seen.
“Rewarding failure”? Only an ignoramus will come to that conclusion.
If we can get these players to lift the trophy 🏆 it will be like drinking water 💦💦 next season 2025/2026
Too much talk no dey full basket o. If he doesn’t win anything, and next season max, he should just leave. Period.
Arsenal is receiving blood money from Rwanda...
