It’s so important today to counteract the culture of built in obsolescence. That’s why GE is such a good company, almost all, if not all parts are replaceable. Kenny’s message is so important for economic reasons, and for environmental reasons. Far too many large appliances end up in the landfill for want of one part. Excellent demo and message!

Kenny, I have a question. I’ve looked on Amazon for the part I need & there’s so many aftermarket ones that some people say didn’t fit their stove like an original from GE (which costs 2-3 times as much). Kenny, did you buy an genuine one from GE or buy an aftermarket OEM burner?

Thanks Kenny. Had the same problem with an old Maytag Gemini stove top element. Couldn't find the model # or the part # but I just measured the size of the element, bought a standard Maytag/ Whirlpool element (around $90) off of Amazon, more or less followed your video and figured it out. The electrical connections were a bit different - three were the same size and connected to the new one, the last was a slightly different size but I just used a screwdriver and some needle nose pliers to open it up a bit to the right size and crimped it on. Worked just fine. Had some fun doing it too.

@@godgunsandkenny Heeeey, thank YOU! You made it look so easy I decided to give it a try myself instead of calling a repair guy to do it for me and it actually was really easy. Took me about half an hour in the end. Couple of differences - my whole glass stovetop just lifted right off - had to unplug the electrical connections on either side, but it came right off after that and I just laid it out on the counter upside down. Made it way easier to work on to get the element off. Also, I put the new element side by side with the old one, and connected each connector to the new element as I removed it from the old. That way its almost impossible to get mixed up. Thanks again, and god bless :)
Great video. Prices are a little higher up here in NY ; replacement GE burner/element cost $176 on line but a repairman probably would charge the part price plus labor and about $150 or more to just walk in the door. Not a fan of electrical repairs but worth the effort. Lost a lot of time pulling the electric wires off the element as they were probably in place for ten years and I was afraid to pull too hard and break them.

I APPRECIATE YOU CHRISTIANE FOR YOUR COMMENT, I GOT MY PART ON AMAZON,I THINK IT WAS ABOUT 60 OR 70 BUCK I DONT REMEMBER EXACTLY, LOL, BUT ITS A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER THAN BUYING A NEW STOVE, IF I CAN BE ANYMORE HELP TO YOU THEN JUST LET ME KNOW, GLAD TO HELP, GOD BLESS,😀😀
Our problem is the burner has no temp control, if it is on it on high. Burning everything
I HAD THE SAME PROB BUT I REPLACED 2 OF MY BURNERS, I JUST USE MINE ON WARM, THOSE NEW BURNERS ARE VERY HOT, I HAVE TO USE THEM ON VERY LOW HEAT, SOMETIMES THE KNOBS GET MESSED UP, I THINK YOU CAN REPLACE THOSE AS WELL
The clips holding the burner don't cooperate. Getting them lined up is a major problem. It's not just a snap on and screw it in. It's a major problem
Thank you William for sharing, you kinda sound in your comment that you may have a different type stove,if it is then it could be complicated, but to replace the burners on the ge stove is really very simple, just follow my directions and instructions, anyone can do this, and save a ton of money 💰 on repairs,I hope this helps, god bless 👍👍
