seeing him being normal and not exaggerating everything is so refreshing
- he's on 24-7. It's quite a lot to absorb as a fan so I avoid most of his bits....I respect his dedication and wanting to get paid, but I prefer a variation of this SAS.

My buddy is a board op for a radio station in dallas that used to be under the same roof as espn radio. SAS came in once to use the studio for his radio show.. would go from screaming on air to like this as soon as it went to break and was very nice and sociable with the producers and board ops at the studio. Complete 180 from his on air personality.
I miss him and skip together. That's when first take was the greatest ever. Undisputed is great too but skip and Stephen a were iconic together.
Stephen a and skip was great , but Shannon is legendary Shannon sharpe 10 times funny then Stephen a smith only thing is they show was around longer

He told Max straight up he didn't think it was working and the show needed a change. He didn't go behind his back. Creative differences is a real thing. He didn't think he was brining out the best in Max or vice versa. He said as much TO Max and had been saying it for a couple years before it actually happened.
These sports analysts make no sense 90% of the time but Skip and Stephen are iconic!

I watched this and then Skip's podcast. I hated Skip before, but now I'll NEVER watch a liar's show. SAS is the First Fake!
I remember when Stephen A would come on First Take every Wednesday. He’s not kidding when the ratings were up. I would look forward so much to the Wednesday show because when he’d come on it was the best!
The difference on Stephen A's one day and the rest of the days was HUGE. One might miss the other days but I wasn't missing the Stephen A's day!! It was must see TV

I've always liked Bayless and agreed with most of what he said. Other than his being hard on LeBron in the first few years of his career and his love for Tim Tebow, that is. Other than that, I agreed with Skip most of the time.

Cold Pizza was a great show name. It was better back then bc there weren't as many hot takes. Actual real discussions.
That`s because the actual debate segments were limited. It was essentially a network morning show for sports with mixed in with a debate here and there. People forget the lower 3rd used to display regular news and events not just sports scores and news. They had guys like Woody Hayes and Rob Parker on so if that show would have been an hour of debate it would have put up Wilt Like numbers in terms of hot takes.

SAS is such a great storyteller.
No matter how many people may feel negatively about Skip and his antics. He is one of the few Elite tier TV personalities that has never needed to publicly apologize for any comments or any controversies. Unlike Stephen A had to do on multiple occasions.

First Take started in 2007 but didn't become the debate show it's known for being until late 2011.. 1st and 10 basically birthed First Take's current format and formula..

It all started on Cold Pizza. There were 4 segments during the show called “First & Ten” where Skip & Woody Paige would debate for 10 minutes a clip approx 4 times.
