Wow! This tour was amazing!! Me and my girlfriend could follow it with ease in the city, instead of joining a physical guided tour. Amazing work.

Thank you so much, Nicola, for this wonderful walking tour of your city. I live on Montserrat island in the Caribbean, so your country is very different to our tiny tropical island whose capital, Plymouth, was completely destroyed by our volcano in 1995. The volcano is still active today. Our two main festivals are the St Patrick's Festival in March, and our carnival in December. One day, perhaps, you can fly across the Atlantic Ocean and visit us in Montserrat. Thank you again!!

It seems to me that you did not say one very important thing when it comes to the history of Dubrovnik.
That city was founded together by Byzantines and Serbs. When the Slavs moved to the Balkans in the 7th century, the Cetina River separated the Serbian and Croatian lands, which means that only Serbs lived for hundreds of kilometers around today's Dubrovnik. The huge number of Serbs who lived around Dubrovnik quickly assimilated the small Byzantine population inside the city, and Dubrovnik already in the Middle Ages became one of the most important Serbian cities. Only in the 20th century, more precisely after the communist occupation of Yugoslavia, Dubrovnik became part of Croatia. In other words, until 1945, Dubrovnik had nothing to do with Croatia and Croats. Dubrovnik is an exclusively Serbian city.
