I live with my parents so I haven't implemented a lot but the things i have changed are: menstrual cup, bamboo toothbrushes, reusable straws, reusable waterbottle, reusable shopping bags and net bags for produce.
Hannah my parents installed like a hose on our toilets that does the same job as a bidet except for its a hose not fountain. they got it at our local home depot. all that's needed is soap and a towel! + its a must have especially during a women's period. i wish more people knew about these

Cheaper version or bidet is attachable toilet sprayer. You just feel way cleaner and it can range from 30-200 but I have one for 40. Or get a toilet attachable bidet but that's like 200-300. I love the sprayer too because I cloth diaper and it helps clean the diaper off before throwing in the washer
Love and needed this. This very topic has been weighing on me lately. I’ve made some changes recently but have a LONG way to go. Videos like this are really helpful. I definitely need to start visiting the bulk section much more and consistently. Ive been hesitant since my first excursion at my local grocery store where they struggled to figure out how to account for my mason jar when I brought it last time. It turned into this big production where an employee from the produce dept had to literally come up to the cashier with me. Hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family.

Loved it! I switched out my toothbrush a year ago and now only use BrushWithBamboo ones. I also try to only thrift shop and I bring reusable bags whenever I can! I switched out my straws for metal ones and also my utensils! So, baby steps you know!

I made the shakiest flakiest first takiest little video about using less plastic and my son saw it and instead of laughing said "But Ma, thats charming! Stick it on facebook!" I hardly dared to, but I did and its got over a thousand views! OH my..Im glad the message is getting out x
Oh! That's so kind. Thank you. It really was a trial, a first time video, I was going to delete it but my 20 year old son persuaded me to put it on facebook! I'm so surprised it has over a thousand views. My accent changes depending where i am..if I go 'home' to the North East of England I sound much more "Mackem" This is my London accent!! Haha!!
Oh I love this video Hannah!!! I find zero waste very aesthetically pleasing too :) And a bidet is a must try, they are actually much cleaner. In Asia, people wipe and always wash their butts. ahah and in India..just wash and dry with cloth. :p. Would love to install one I've always been plastic conscious and only recently REALLY making an effort. I too find food stuff the hardest but I've learned to give up mushrooms if they have packaging (most of the time) and I don't know why my favourite grapes come in plastic containers but that I've given up too. It's not hard after a while. And I'm so happy that one of the major supermarkets here in Switzerland are phasing out plastics on there organic vegetables! :)

I heard that compostable litter can be dangerous if you mix it with your food scraps and use it for your plants or garden... Can someone help me with that?

Oh and I've got a question, do you know how we can recycle essential oil containers? Do they get recycled? They have plastic caps which we can recycle here in Switzerland but the glass has this plastic ring on the neck which can't be removed. Any idea?
🙋🏽♀️ Not a perfect zero-waster over here BUT one of my favorite weird zero waste tips is to stop buying garbage bags and if you still produce “garbage” re-use plastic packaging such as bread bags, frozen fruit bags, etc. as your trash bag. This way you’re not creating a need for a plastic bag to be created to hold other plastic bags 🤔 kinda dumb 😂

I gave away all my cleaning chemicals and use vinegar for everything, plus I love the smell of it.

My bamboo spoon, fork and straw set are on the way from amazon as I type. Bye bye one use straws

the best exfoliate is coffee grounds with a bit of soda (slower hair growth and cleanses the skin) and coconut oil (amazing moisture)

I don’t buy exfoliating scrubs either. I make mine with coconut oil and sugar. So easy!!
