I recently bought a second hand Canon g7x mark ii camera and it shows a small smudge in my videos, the rest of the image is not affected. I will think about giving this a try. Good advice, thanks.
Getting a scratched Canon FD 50mm 1.2 in the mail soon. Lots on the front element. Early all metal model. Lots means I wouldn't bother to think about masking off every part of the lens except the one scratch, which is what I would have considered with your problem. I imagine I could use my finger instead of a microfiber cloth. I recommend jazzing up the wall behind you.
Appreciate that suggestion! If I ever need to do this kind of thing to remove a scratch again, I'll tape off the surrounding areas to mind the lens coating. 👍🏻
I today tried your trick with my recently bought used g7x mark ii compact camera lens and it worked. As you said the scratch didn't disapear totally but no more blemishes in my videos. Thanks.
@@AddisAbabaClose-up Awesome! I'm glad to hear this works for others and your videos are free of distracting elements. Thanks for taking the time to report back. 👍🏻
Nice, thanks for making this video. Recently bumped my drone against a pole and deposited some paint (I think) onto the camera's lens, which is super annoying during acrobatic stuff. I've seen all of the DIY fixes and was hesitant to give it a shot before learning about the experience others have had. Keep up the great work!

get to the point
Sorry about that. Always looking for ways to improve and that's something I'm trying to be more conscious of in more recent videos.
@@Digimorphosis Your videos need to have a certain length to help your channel and youtube. We can always scroll forward. Veteran here...

@@Digimorphosisdude the videos great… there’s enough videos that just stick to the fact. People like myself watch for personality and sharing stories.
