I received this incredibly thoughtful gift from a friend for the most recent Christmas, and I've been sitting on it since then. Today I finally put in my first entry. I can only imagine where I'll be in five years, let alone ten. Thanks for such a great review.
I have the same color in the 5 year version and started back in 2018. So this year will be my last in the diary. I think these diary's are such a beautiful way to keep a record of your experiences and memories. I used the same color for every year. That way I get the colorfulness and continuity my brains enjoys.
I think the rainbow at the end of June is the indicator for end of the first half of the year. At least that makes the most sense to me. I turned 40 recently and just ordered this for my next decade. Its absolutely beautiful! Thanks for your review.
At first I misunderstood how the diary was laid out and I thought it was every day in the month and every month for 10 years and I was like I would never use all those entries per day 🤦♀️ I like that you are revisiting the past to write a new entry
Oh no! I love it! 😩🌈 The little drawings acting as nonintrusive tabs really sells me. Youll have to give an update as to how the pen tests went! With it being midori, I assume that the paper is beautiful, but still curious.
This looks beautiful. It seems to be a good replacement for a 5 year hobonichi. I do love grid paper so lines may annoy me after a while. I've thought about dating the right hand side of my hobonichi and making it into a 9 year (the quote on the bottom right side would hinder me from making it a 10 year)
I agree, I hate lined paper but in this case the wobbly lines make it a bit better. If I could change one thing about the five-year techo it would be those quotes on the right! What I do is start the right side at the very top of the page. That way you can finish before the quote starts and you get the same amount of space (roughly) as on the left. Not ideal but better than nothing.
I love the idea of the little graphics for the months, but as I live in the Southern Hemisphere the seasons are all wrong for me! And using that for 10 years would annoy me!!! Thanks for sharing this review though, it is a lovely diary.
Thanks for sharing. I’m thinking of getting a five year journal but I really like this one. I’m going to use mine for astrology writing. I’m just trying to figure out what brand to use.
I love love love this one! Now that I've been using it for almost a month I can say it's even better than I expected. The paper quality is amazing and it is just so well made. They have a five year version too.
7:35 maybe the rainbow symbolises the pride month as it is the month of june 🤔 anyway, I love the layout and think about buying one! But on the other side I'm scared of commiting to a 10 year diary because it's quite a long time, I'll see 😊
Another great video of yours, thank you ! Also interested in the pen test, especially fountain pens. If that test fails (unlikely with Midori) it’s a no go from me..
Oh wow, I really like that one! Have you done any pen testing? (I'm particularly interested in how it handles fountain pen, but I don't remember if you use those or not.)
I should have done a pen test but I thought it would be ok so I didn't do it. I only use fountain pens so I am hoping it handles those but I think Midori paper is generally fountain-pen friendly so I wasn't really worried about it - but it would have been better to do the test anyway! Sorry. Will update as soon as I start using it!
@@velschulz1713 The only thing I've found that fits it is the Salty Katie jelly cover sized for the Mini Happy Planner. It looks great in that but actually I've just been using it with no cover. After almost two years the gold is rubbing off a bit but other than that it still looks great.
Thanks for this! I'm thinking about getting one as a bday present for a friend :) On another note, what kind of watch are you wearing? It looks very interesting.
I really hate those wobbly lines. It seems like they are like that throughout? The whole thing in general is beautiful but I know that would irritate me long term.
Yeah, they're like that throughout. It's funny - I actually like them because I hate lined paper in general and the wobbliness makes it seem a bit different than usual lined paper. But if it bugs you then that is definitely a deal-breaker!

Ordering one of these and will use it as a daily gratitude practice. Would be cool to give to my daughter when I’m gone
Thank you for the review, and particularly the February 29 call out! That is ALWAYS something I look for, and hate when people don't mention it. :)

I just started this January 2023 and I’m only using fountain pens, no shadowing or bleeding. Looks great, also shows my shimmer inks well.

@@VeganOrganizer great idea, I will definitely do that

I wish my Hobonichi 5 year was as cute as this! I still have 4 years left before I need a new journal 😜

I plan on making my 5 year hobo into a 10 year but using the blank page in the right for the next 5 years
oh wow.. I was considering a 5 year diary but this is even better.
Wow, this is beautiful!!!

Yes, agreed - I also only use fountain pens so I really hope it works out! Because it's Midori I didn't worry about it, but maybe I should have...
did you start using it ? if so how is it ? I'm hoping to purchase it for next year. This will be my first longterm diary , never used a 5 year one
Yes, I've been using it since January and it's wonderful! It takes fountain pen ink beautifully. I'd highly recommend it!
@@VeganOrganizer great ! I can't wait to purchase it

I START my 40s next year. This might be cathartic.
Awesome! Welcome to the club 😄

Thanks! It's a great watch. It's from Mr Jones Watches. Check them out - they have amazing watches!

It’s nice but it’s so small
Hm.... This whole Style remembers a German bible. In German churches you will definetly find Lots of bibles in exactly this size, color and Print.
