In ancient days some Fijians moved to Poutasi. Tuife’ai was renamed to Tuisamoa. So Poutasi was an excellent location to film this show

Yup around early to mid 13th century (1200 AD -1250 AD) there was a huge influx of Fijians/Tongans into Samoa (probably Lau group Fijians) They mainly stayed in Savaii then slowly spread to some parts of Upolu.
But prior to that there was always interaction between Sāmoans and the rest of the other islands in west Polynesia.
We have a name Naisalī in our family history. That sounds Fijian to me but not 100%

Samoa Tonga and Fiji are definitely going to cause some upsets in this RWC. The speed of their improvement after incorporating Super Rugby players, and Tonga gaining Piutau, Folau, and Fekitoa is incredible, and this is only the beginning of these 3 teams penetrating the world rankings with Fiji leading the way. Can't wait to watch this world cup. Manuia le aso, Ofa Atu ki hono ta'anga, and Veilomani to my Samoan, Tongan, and Kai Viti brothers.

So great to see our own Islander hero’s on a panel! through more practice we will see our professionalism grow aswell.
Our Pacific island teams may not have the fanciest scrum machines, but when it comes to packing down, they've got more ❤ heart than a beach full of coconuts! Great to have us talk about our Rugby.. and hold this space brilliantly!

Bula look in 1987 we played with joy an excitement an reached knockout .
In 1991 we had a terrible World Cup had absolutely nothing to offer or show but our 7s dominated the world.
In 1995 we didn’t qualify.
In 1999 we had a rebuild but managed to reach quarter finals playoff but got rolled.
2003 we lost by 2 to Scotland through big Api infringement in ruck cost us finals playoff.
2007 Ilivasi took us to quarters nearly semi.
2011 Political turmoil cost us big at this World Cup with floggings against Wales / Springboks.
2015 We got rolled by Wales again an Australia
2019 We got beaten again by Wales an Australia
2023 Fiji come on please don’t break our hearts again

I love the fact eventhough Fijians are technically Polynesians they’re treated like ones by other Polynesians like Samoan and Tongans 😂. Well makes sense since Fiji is literally on the edge of the the border of Melanesia and polynesia and have an almost identical culture to Tongans and Samoans.
