The song itself is a summer festival song likening adding the spices to the papaya salad to life where if you add some spice and mix all the ingredients well you will just make it tastier and more enjoyable. Their diet is improving, they don't just want chocolate any more. This is definitely a high energy song. The call and response bits include Su shouting the commands _"SAWAGE!!"_ (Make Some Noise!!) and _"ODORE!!"_ (Jump Around!!/Dance!!) at the crowd, who chant back and oblige her while waving their towels. This was a single from their 2019 _Metal Galaxy_ album and the first to have another artist featured. F.Hero does a great job and adds a different flavor that blends really well with the song's overall festive atmosphere. One of the best tracks from that album in my opinion.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This is a MV of live footage with studio sound. F. Hero came all the way to Japan from Thai and he had been very nervous to perform at the huge arena in foreign country. At the actual venue of this show in Yokohama Japan, Su-Metal shouted "Come on F. Hero!" to summon him. And at the end of this song she screamed "Thank you F. Hero!" then the three girls bowed deeply towards him to show their respect. That scene makes me happy. I witnessed this song performed in the 2 shows last month at Budokan, a legendary arena, and the audiences got hyped up like the people in this video. I almost died for joy. Once FDTD started many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas.
It's hard to notice since you aren't expecting it but Su throws some English in this song. Some of the lyrics she sings is "You know what" "Spicy Summer Song" "Crazy Summer Dance" and of course "Bring it on Bring" it! There is a little more but anyway it's a crazy fun song.

I was surprised to realize that this was my most listened to song last year, lol. That music has soo much hype and energy into it. Love the part at the end when Su is just going nuts with the "Pa pa ya" part too. Well, i think it was probably me who said that about Gimme Chocolate being a famous phrase in Japan. But i don't think the song means anything. It's just an oblique reference. They're not saying anything about it one way or the other. I saw this TH-cam video where interviewed people on the street in Japan and they said they didn't know anything about WW2. They knew about the nuclear bombing but that was it. At least that they would admit to knowing. You can never tell with Japan it's a very conservative society.

So, seeing as you're a leg in the foxhole so far and seem to be enjoying the fall, I think it's about time you dive right on in. Remember their own pioneered genre is Kawaii Metal...Cute Metal? I think it's time for some cuteness! So, there's plenty to choose from, but, reading though the comments, I saw quite a few suggestions for the 8 "special" songs from the first 2 albums. Those being Su solos and duets from Yui and Moa ( with the duo being referred to as Black BABYMETAL). Black BABYMETAL songs are all extremely cute but also the most brutal! Juxtaposition to that, Su solos are usually the more darker toned song of all their line up and are basically ballad typed. I just noticed you've been uploading consecutive babymetal videos😂 The song is a about a spicy Thai papaya salad. If you don't know, papaya is a tropical fruit. The drum beat was meant to mimic the sound of the mortar and pestle while crushing and mixing the ingredients for the papaya salad. This was at Yokohama Arena 2019. This was performed a day before their Glastonbury performance in UK. This video you reacted has the studio audio overlayed with the video of their live performance. Almost all of their official videos were in that format but only those with "(OFFICIAL)" at the end of the title (like Gimme Chocolate, Da da dance, Shanti Shanti Shanti, and others). Those that ends with the name of the venue (like Ijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere 2014, Distortion Live at Download Festival 2018, Road of Resistance Live in Japan, and others) has the live audio in it. I know my explanation was a bit unclear as I suck at explaining😅 but I hope you could understand it so you won't be confused. There are other songs where they feature other artists. Most are from their latest Metal Galaxy album. They featured Joakim Broden from Sabaton in "Oh Majinai", Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy in "Distortion", Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia in "Brand New Day" and Tak Matsumoto of the B'z in "DA DA DANCE!". At the concert in the video the male vocals were done live by F. Hero. But this is the studio track :) But of course they're not going to drag F Hero around with them to do one song. So usually it is a backing track. This is one of their best songs. People like to hate on the third album because of things out of their control like the departure of Yui and the death of Mikio but it's really good. Including myself, i hated on it for a few months. :)
I think I actually became a fan just before the whole fanbase turned a corner on Metal Galaxy (I think Legend Metal Galaxy helped a lot?). It was interesting to watch it happen.

Babymetal has such a varied catalogue that you don't really need to react to any of those other bands on your long list. Just simplify things a little and stick with Babymetal. "Rondo of Nightmare" next! With the "Mischief of Metal Gods" intro.
From audio engineering perspective, I imagine it's quite a challenge to process the clean vocals with gutteral rapping together in one song, esoecially in live performances? Maybe that's part the reason the metal growlings are mostly backtrack...? I dunno, just guessing haha :P
I try to balance the technical parts and the fun parts to give an overall opinion. Gets a little difficult sometimes and I miss things but it’s so much fun! 🤘

Most are at much smaller venues, I was afraid the large size would kinda muffle the experience but not at all, everyone is so into it and the production is so good. Its not the most intense experience compared to some wild death metal or hardcore shows Ive been to but in terms of just pure fun and overall entertainment. Their big arena shows in Japan are about as good as it gets.

best from this concert is when this song ended, Su Metal turns around and says "Thank you F Hero!" and gives him a long bow in respect. in an interview with F. Heroe, said that he got a lot of hate on Twitter and social media, but he got total support from Koba and the babymetal crew. you can find pictures of Su and Moa teaching F. Pa Pa Ya is fun, but not one of my favourites. I can see the thinking behind including a Thai wrapper as it might expand their sales in SE Asia and I believe they are following that approach with the "Bring Me The Horizon" collaboration. But after "Tales of The Destinies" on Metal Resistance I was hoping for a bit more on the very prog rock side of things. But I can see how Amuse might say let's increase sales in Asia and with a young demographic rather than making aging "Yes" fans happy. So, seeing as you're a leg in the foxhole so far and seem to be enjoying the fall, I think it's about time you dive right on in. Remember their own pioneered genre is Kawaii Metal...Cute Metal? I think it's time for some cuteness! So, there's plenty to choose from, but, reading though the comments, I saw quite a few suggestions for the 8 "special" songs from the first 2 albums. Those being Su solos and duets from Yui and Moa ( with the duo being referred to as Black BABYMETAL). Black BABYMETAL songs are all extremely cute but also the most brutal! Juxtaposition to that, Su solos are usually the more darker toned song of all their line up and are basically ballad typed. My personal fav out of the 8 of these songs is Rondo of Nightmare (with Mischiefs of God intro live at Budokan Black Night, specifically), a Su solo. Of Black BABYMETAL, its a toss up between Sis Anger and Onedari Daisakusen.
I'll be happy with anything from BABYMETAL though so...looking forward to the next!

Once FDTD started many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas.

The song is a about a spicy Thai papaya salad. If you don't know, papaya is a tropical fruit. The drum beat was meant to mimic the sound of the mortar and pestle while crushing and mixing the ingredients for the papaya salad.
This was at Yokohama Arena 2019. This was performed a day before their Glastonbury performance in UK. This video you reacted has the studio audio overlayed with the video of their live performance. Almost all of their official videos were in that format but only those with "(OFFICIAL)" at the end of the title (like Gimme Chocolate, Da da dance, Shanti Shanti Shanti, and others). Those that ends with the name of the venue (like Ijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere 2014, Distortion Live at Download Festival 2018, Road of Resistance Live in Japan, and others) has the live audio in it. I know my explanation was a bit unclear as I suck at explaining😅 but I hope you could understand it so you won't be confused.
There are other songs where they feature other artists. Most are from their latest Metal Galaxy album. They featured Joakim Broden from Sabaton in "Oh Majinai", Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy in "Distortion", Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia in "Brand New Day" and Tak Matsumoto of the B'z in "DA DA DANCE!". You might want to check these songs out as they all sounds different from each other (same goes to their songs from their earlier albums).

At the concert in the video the male vocals were done live by F. Hero. But this is the studio track :) But of course they're not going to drag F Hero around with them to do one song. So usually it is a backing track. This is one of their best songs. People like to hate on the third album because of things out of their control like the departure of Yui and the death of Mikio but it's really good. Including myself, i hated on it for a few months. :)
I think I actually became a fan just before the whole fanbase turned a corner on Metal Galaxy (I think Legend Metal Galaxy helped a lot?). It was interesting to watch it happen.
Tip: always wait for final judgement of Babymetal songs until you've seen it performed live. :-)

Babymetal has such a varied catalogue that you don't really need to react to any of those other bands on your long list. Just simplify things a little and stick with Babymetal. "Rondo of Nightmare" next! With the "Mischief of Metal Gods" intro.

From audio engineering perspective, I imagine it's quite a challenge to process the clean vocals with gutteral rapping together in one song, esoecially in live performances? Maybe that's part the reason the metal growlings are mostly backtrack...? I dunno, just guessing haha :P

Most are at much smaller venues, I was afraid the large size would kinda muffle the experience but not at all, everyone is so into it and the production is so good. Its not the most intense experience compared to some wild death metal or hardcore shows Ive been to but in terms of just pure fun and overall entertainment. Their big arena shows in Japan are about as good as it gets.

best from this concert is when this song ended, Su Metal turns around and says "Thank you F Hero!" and gives him a long bow in respect. in an interview with F. Heroe, said that he got a lot of hate on Twitter and social media, but he got total support from Koba and the babymetal crew. you can find pictures of Su and Moa teaching F. Hero's daughter how to do the Kitsune hand sign. 🤘🦊🤘

Pa Pa Ya is fun, but not one of my favourites. I can see the thinking behind including a Thai wrapper as it might expand their sales in SE Asia and I believe they are following that approach with the "Bring Me The Horizon" collaboration. But after "Tales of The Destinies" on Metal Resistance I was hoping for a bit more on the very prog rock side of things. But I can see how Amuse might say let's increase sales in Asia and with a young demographic rather than making aging "Yes" fans happy. Take a look at "TOTD" if you want a real ride.
