You are an absolute boss Pat. I'd love to see a mountain bike trials instructional series from you. Kind of like the ones you did for RYP TV...but for trailbikes
Thanks! I am still working on finishing up my last year of motorcycle how to videos, but once I’m done with those maybe I’ll take a shot at some MTB ones.👍
Good to hear you can appreciate it! Had to show a little slice of what effort it took. Balance is huge for this type of stuff since you never know when you need to stop and correct your position.
despite it is a full suspension bike, you did awesome, I just watched Ali Clarkson old trials video using Santa Cruz fullsus bike he is having a hard time with the bike, Your riding is still the best, cant wait for next video.
Interesting! Static 180s are actually easier for me going my bad direction because of my right foot being forward, but haven’t tried any left foot forward unless I am pedaling into it. Need to try that!
I went for a little different style than a normal behind the scenes style video since I needed some time to practice the moves and decide if they would work how I thought!
Man your such a skilled rider! Definitely an inspiration! How much compression are you having to use on your fork to do a lot of these nose manuals and such?? Please keep making more videos like these! Cheers!
Thanks! More coming! I haven't played with compression too much. I usually just get it plush enough for the trail and add some rebound for trials moves for some extra pop. Sometimes I'll stiffen compression for more pump speed on jumps.
So you seem like a pretty chill kinda of person, but how do you control you adrenaline when your doing stuff? Is that something that just comes natural to you or was that something you just kinda got use to? I get really nervy when I do stuff that doesn’t just come natural
Interesting question, I think it depends on the move. Most of it is pretty calculated where I am confident enough to give it a full try or take a few test runs to feel it out and build up to it. That eases the nerves and gives some confidence having a bit of the feeling, then visualizing it before hand is huge. But, there are still plenty of times where I just hold my breath and hope, haha! I think all the years of riding so many different kinds of lines really helps when trying something new. Even something new typically has some similarity to something I’ve done before so I can use that to help the confidence too. Hopefully that makes sense!
Feed me MORE videos!!!!!. Great job, alway a highlight to see that you've dropped a video. Change NOTHING about your edits. Open/interested in maybe a quarterly invite? Say 10 riders, admission = 1 item to add to your "playground "? Could be a hit, spring, summer, fall, winter. Different styles, different ideas...all forwarding the progress of riding for you AND riders.
Thanks! Glad you like them. More coming! I love the idea and would really like to invite some people to ride here, but unfortunately that is tough these days. The big issue is liability and my family is pretty worried and protective over who rides here. It sucks since I would love to have more people out to enjoy it! But, maybe we can figure out a group ride with some technical riding at av someday instead...
Hey Pat Smage! That was freakin awesomeness! Great creativity! Ride ride ride!
I’m big fan of your riding style and also the way of thinking how to manage difficulties in front of some hard lines ... absolutely amazing.

Inspiring to see the work that goes into this. Man, your trackstand saves you from everything!

If it isn’t to much of a problem keep up the tutorials on how you do this. It’s a lot of help. Thanks
Really impressive and fun to watch
Thanks!
tremendous work ! well worth the great video you made ! congratulations and respect !
Thank you! This was just a couple of the hours I put into it, but it was worth it.👍

I find that if I’m trying to 180 on my bad side it’s better to have my other foot forward. Great vid!

This will be an interesting little series.
Edit: I really enjoyed this thank you

@@PatSmage I look forward to it!
@@PatSmage can I assume Ryan Leech is one of your influences? It's like Chris Akrig, Ryan and Tony Bou had a love child.
BIKES!!!!
I'm wondering what building used to be there so long ago to leave those concrete blocks? 6:09
Stanner no building, my dad found everything and brought it in to ride motorcycles on.
@@PatSmage OK, and *bummer,* I was kind of enjoying imagining an erie past for some old cabin or lodge =;^D)>
