Nick's argument in theory about ranking Jokic makes sense, in theory, if you omit the right details and if we weren't able to watch the actual games. You're talking about a guy who literally has the highest PER of all time and because you think he deserves less recognition you're asking us to debate in good conscious if he's a better player than Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitzki. Giannis at least I see the argument to be made, even though I think Jokic has the demonstrably more impactful offensive game, but this allergic reaction to seeing people praise what is clearly among the best offensive engines we've ever seen comes off as just entirely petty and unnecessary

@@JacobParsons-vu2gp that's a bad point...not believing in the nuggets WAS the contrarian take. the "cop out" would've been going along with the consensus and saying they're unstoppable and on pace to becoming a dynasty. fairly straightforward concept imo

@@stmaster21 My gripe is in terms of his “Classic/category 2” take is he can’t give a tough take when it has to be an immediate take. He didn’t pick a winner in THIS series because it was a close series and he didn’t want to lose viewership so he stayed out of it (i.e. ratings)… He made a business decision to forego picking sides because he’s not pandering to popular opinion in a situation where it’s too risky (he gambles a lot, I’m sure he’s aware of risk vs. reward). Outside of that, a lot of pundits were against Mahomes (again, viewership) after their drought.
He picked the Mav’s over OKC because if Luka loses, it’s Luka’s injuries or OKC’s stats that won/lost the game. If they win he looks like a genius. Promise you this dude has the audience figured out.

@@JacobParsons-vu2gp sounds like no matter what he does, you'll find a way to be skeptical. imo it's a little strange to claim nick's jokic/nuggets takes are a result of him playing 3D chess. i think he earnestly believes jokic is in the giannis tier and not the top 10 all time tier. category 2 just means his prediction is long-term instead of a short-term take like picking a game/series
