p2p is a blessing and a curse... actually I lied it's a curse it's a curse
There was one time I was playing Rainmaker, and our team was dominating the other. One of us made it to the goal, when they suddenly stopped, completely frozen in mid-air! This went on well after the timer reached zero and we were still playing. We had no idea what was going on so the whole server just started partying until the game decided to end the match :P
Inkbrush main here! We do many annoying things that make people hate us. However, breaking space and time is normally not one of them.
One of my worst instances of lag has got to have been the most frustrating:
Every shot I fired did absolutely nothing to the enemy team. I would fire the shot, it would play the 1hit KO sound but the enemy player would just... Not die.
I somehow stayed connected the whole match, with not a single splat at the end because none of my shots actually registered
Splatoon 3 is a perfectly functioning game.
Its funny when people rage quit instead of losing and they still lose
What if YOU wanted to play Sploon...BUT GOD SAID: "Nah, I think you've played enough for today."
I remember during a salmon run game, I kept getting "The Connection is unstable" come up on the screen right when a Stinger was attacking me and I died cos I couldn't avoid it and the entire team went down
The camera randomly pausing in the video really fits the lag going on in the clips!

Three funny disconnection stories:
Once was playing vanilla Jr with just Ink Saver Sub, threw a Splat Bomb at someone on Inkblot, they moved out of the range, then disconnected as soon as my bomb went off.
Once was playing Squiffer before the new one got introduced on Tower Manta, someone on the tower bugged out, bounced up and down in place, then flew upwards (I was dead).
Had a clam blitz game with N-ZAP 85 where the entire room just... imploded. Right after the first minute. In the end it was just me (the zap) and the heavy on the other team left.

I have too many stories of lag
So i was playing glooga and i was opening the rainmaker shield and was grabbing the rainmaker but it wouldn't go in my hands so then i went to a new area and then the rainmaker popped into my hands then i died then everyone goes poof except for me and 2 players on the other team. Then the other 2 ppl have 2 rainmakers then scored both. I was counted a loss. Also ppl can fly on sturgeon zones. Thats what happened to me once
Had a game yesterday where some teleported like 8 feet away

Once I was about to get my first win of (i think) the christmas splatfest because I kept losing (I was playing for a while I think)
Then, at literally 2 seconds left, i disconnected ☹️

I was playing EVP 400, and THE FRAMES WERE NON-EXISTENT (This was yesterday BTW). The timer was going down at the regular pace though, so my team barely made it out alive (We had 31 of 31 eggs).
I don't think Nintendo Direct would fix these issues tomorrow
The worst one that happened to me was when I was playing with Derpy and it was a 100x (I think) We basically destroyed the other team and then Nintendo decided not to give us the win and we all dc’d

There was one day when my game was laggy, two people flew to the center of the map😭 (I I couldn't record sadly)

Anyone else gotten disconected on the victory screen?
Was I supposed to be the one who DCed, or did other people have to DC? I remember asking this on X, but got no confirmation. On a related note, do not expect peer-2-peer to die anytime soon. It is still very commonplace in high population density areas, such as Japan, where Nintendo's homeland is located. I do not expect Nintendo to shift to dedicated servers for online because I consider that bending to American gamers, and Nintendo is the company that will always do whatever they want.
