Great video. It's like a time machine looking back to the good old days of railroading in Southern Ontario. Awesome 👍🏻

This video brought back memories of my childhood, when I lived on Ontario Avenue, the trains ran right behind my house. I seen a few clips on here crossing over Bampfield

Canadian Niagara falls turned into something like a fairground now when trying to find the old railtrack trough town on street view, it's almost impossible to imagine there was once a track allong that street, the former Houdini hall of fame turned into Ripleys moving theatre now?
The Canadian railroads seemed to get more out of their old locomotives instead of buying new every 15 year like the big roads in the US.
The non turbo EMD's just sound the best.

Just found this video. Brought back great memories growing up in Tonawanda. Amazes me that at one time the Niagara Sub hosted Conrail, CSX, CP and Amtrak. When my father and I train watched in North Buffalo where the Beltway line split you would toss in NS and CN traffic into the mix. 1990’s was a great time to be a train fan in WNY/SO

Thank you for this awesome video. I remember vacationing as a kid and seeing the rails near Clifton Hill. I used to love watching trains when we went there (normally a yearly occasion). I haven't been back up there since 2006 but if I recall the tracks where gone the last time I was there.

Niagara Falls USA had many large railroad yards. Most are now gone and the few left have been reduced in size.
Nice video of the two side by side international train bridges over the Niagara River Gorge. Nice video of one the Niagara Falls NY train yards from the Hyde Park Blvd Bridge.

Railfanmatt4 For the big major roads and in the west coast PC cities yeah but a 25-30% are short lines ans class 3 no gensets there they looks horrible ! I live near former B&M (Pan Am)track and it is still 2nd gen thank God with SD40, SD40-2, SD45, SD45-2 all re-engined to SD40-3 specs but all still look original, also GP40 and a handful of first Gen Geeps GP9 and GP-7's usually in Maine and around East Deerfield,MA. We get the usual look alike GE ES44 what ever run-thru by CSX but I'm glad we don't I am probably older 58' and have been railfanning since I was a young teen with my older brother in the early 1970s and I just like the 1st and 2nd gen power and when all the fallen Flags were mostly sill around and when there were colorful boxcars from all roads and NO graffiti !!! Lol But the last few years I spent every moment I can driving to PA and NY to railfan those Great Alcos on the Delaware & Lackawanna (D&L), Western New York & Pennsylvania (WNY&P), and Livonia, Avon & Lakeville (L,A&L) I am a true Alco-Haulic ! Lol and just love these engines they are great in every way and so many have been in the area for years in ME,MA,CT but NY and PA is where most live, down south is the Arkansas & Missouri (A&M) with has a bunch mostly C420's but the the three main road Alco roads and there smaller affiliates have at last count 60+ Century and Rs models they have been in Trains and Railfan & Railroad magazines a dozen times in the last 6 years or so and the latest R&R mag they are on the cover. The D&L have a great classic style White,Grey,Black w/red,yellow pinstripes and the (L,A&L) is a classic Black and Yellow. They have everything the last C636, a bunch or M636 and M630 about 10, and C430, C425, C424, C420 from SP&S, NYC, PRR, EL, LV, NH, RDG, LI, CP, BC rail Heritage and RS-36, RS-32, RS-18u, RS-11, RS-3, RS-1, S-6, S-2, S-1 from NKP, NYC, SP, D&H, RDG, CNJ, CV, CP, BC rail Heritage. If you can plan a trip to the Alco Empire, it is like going back ti the 1960s and 70s. And enjoy the sights, sound and smoke show of these Alcos. : )

+Prog X I agree with you prog I love those Alcos in NY and PA I live in NH and close in age 57yrs and I guess i am an Alco-Haulic also ,that a good disease to have lol. The Delaware and Lackawanna is great to watch and I go down there when I can your right about the heritage I was a SPS Alco fan and those 4 or 5 C424 and C425s have been to a lot of states with the BN,Kyle and later to the Mass.Central for a while in a nice black and orange paint and then to Fl to the Seminole Gulf railway and then back to Alco land. And the L,A&L has the last NH C425 around for years, I would like D&L to get that and bring it back to New Haven Black,Red & Wht McGinnis scheme the would be great the D&L have Heritage paint on their RS-3's in CNJ and RDG and one C420 is a Lehigh Valley "Yellow Jacket" in Gray & Yellow ! But you know this and their many videos are on Y-tube. Like you I miss the old days and those Fallen flags and our local RR the Boston & Maine and Maine Central all nice old engines, Pan Am's Solid dark Blue is not bad and the line is ran much better than the Guilford year even if many of those men are around. But this is about Alcos and your post was fantastic Thanks. Ronnie : D

a lot of those lines are gone now, the factories that once needed them gone, the one bridge now in disuse. most of the lines, especially the one at Clifton hill, the trains would pass every 20 minutes if on schedule if not closer to every 30 minutes

when i was a boy in the 1950's..75 now..we would go down Ashland ave to the big rail yard and watch the action.a couple times a car would be shunted to what we call the paper box factory.and yes we hopped on the ladder for a ride.there was a older foundry at the end of Ashland.

There are no through freight trains in Niagara Falls anymore. The CP former Canada Southern is gone. The CN routes all its US interchange traffic via Fort Erie. The closest the freights run to NF is at Church's Lane off Whirlpool Rd. This is where trains coming from the Grimsby Sub turn southwest to head for Fort Erie.
