As a long-time fan of Renee, your interpretation was pretty on point and your attention to detail was admirable. Renee kept the true meaning of the song a secret and up to everyone's individual interpretation until recently. The story as she tells it is that while she was writing the album she got into a pretty nasty breakup and fell into the wrong crowd. She got involved with people who were careless and, as you correctly said, substance abusers. One day she woke up with her legs covered in blood on a bathroom floor. The "friends" she'd spent the past night with were no where to be found and she had no memory of the night before. She to this day doesn't know what happened exactly, but that was her breaking point. She stopped hanging out with those people and is in a much better place now, with friends who care about her and love her, a caring girlfriend and team that is always looking out for her. She decided to last minute rename the album to Snow Angel and make the titular song the lead single. Be sure to check out the rest of the album, it's raw and vulnerable and powerful. As well as her interview with Zane Lowe where she opens up about the song. Thank you for your reaction, you've earned yourself a new subscriber!

The insane thing is that this song is almost better live, her vocals are insane.

Renee is brilliant. She was in the Mean Girls musical on Broadway. She's going to be in the Mean Girls Muscial movie. She also stars in The Sex Lives of College Girls on Max.

Renee did star in the musical mean girls as regina George when she was 19. She’s 23 now she’s always wanted to be a singer so she took the acting route to get to where she is now!

I rarely comment on videos, but your analysis is just too good. The attention to detail, the emotions, the connections between all the different elements of the song and the video, everything was spot on. Hadn't watched any of your videos before, but you've just gained a new subscriber!
I also wanted to point out a detail I really like that is often overlooked, her fogged-up breath at the very beginning. I think that sets the tone for the whole video in a clever and subtle way. If you get the chance I would love to watch your reaction to her 'In The Kitchen' video too. Cheers! 💛

this song is really beautiful and totally conveys the sentiment. I knew the song a little earlier before I saw your reaction and I completely agree with every single thing you say. Thank you for your words 🤍🩹.
Regarding Renee is relatively new she has a teen series and has only one ep so far "Everything to everyone" personally I have loved every song so far because you are able to relate or feel what she sings.

Wow, I've been on a binge of watching reactions to Renee, and yours quickly became a favourite. I absolutely loved and am in awe of how deeply you both analyzed the video and felt the emotions evoked by the combination of the video and the music. You did an incredible job balancing paying attention to every aspect here: her voice, the music, her lyrics, her acting, and the video elements, while being clear and concise in your analysis both spoken and added w/ the text as well. Thank you for your reaction to Renee! Subscribed & looking forward to seeing more of your reactions!

This just came up on my suggested bc I love Renee and like many others said, you now have a new follower! Your interpretation, and the just the pure raw emotion made it feel like I was hearing the song for the first time again! People mentioned her EP and tattoos but also check out her song Bruises, “I have acetone for veins” is one line, and from your reaction on this one, I have a feeling that line will make you run to listen to it!

Stayed longer that she should was funny to mention because she basically missing for 7 hours in a night out and that incident was the inspiration behind the song writing. This is the most accurate interpretation actually of the song.

this song is rumored to be indeed about cocaine, especially with the context of the text she wrote when she announced it, makes a lot of sense. about the boy she looks for in “her”, i think it might be either the personification of the drug or in itself being intoxicated and getting with someone to feel sorta the closest to the love your previous partner gave you

this song is rumored to be about her almost overdosing, hence the references to “snow” (cocaine) and “i’ll make it through the ‘winter’ if it kills me”, talking about her fighting to get sober, if she doesn’t it’ll kill her
