Friends is definitely one of the most memorable, funniest, iconic shows ever and one can never get tired of watching reruns! This show teaches us friendship, love, and loyalty! It has the most likable characters with their own personality It’s filled with pure joy which leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling, lifting your spirits and instantly brightening your mood.
I always hated how Carol and Suzan treated Ross in the early seasons, Carol literally cheated on Ross with Suzan, got all the furniture, she literally abandoned him with nothing and they are going to raise the child and not him and Suzan even treats him like a crap in that episode, boy how I hate these 2
same! especially when some fans blame ross with beings homophobic but he's literally a broken man who got cheated on. i hate those two

susan and carol were only dating at this point too - and not for that long even. they weren't married (maybe because of the law), and they couldn't have been dating for more than a couple months to a year. susan had NO RIGHT to this child and it made no sense whatsoever for the baby to have her last name. what if they broke up? also susan was a huge dick to ross as if he did something wrong when she had an AFFAIR with his wife and wasn't even sorry about it. now i hate ross so much, but i hate these too even more. straight up cruel people. im a bisexual woman, but i could never understand them.
It's funny how many things you notice re-watching this show. Like How Rachel left Barry at the alter, which is a pretty awful thing to do, and yet somehow he becomes the bad guy and we're all supposed to root for Rachel.

ok this is gonna be freaking awesome! my favorite sitcom of all time with a couple of my favorite reactors?? what did I do to deserve this? haha I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the show. season 1 is considered one of the weakest seasons and it's still great so I'm excited to see how much you guys enjoy from here on out. ❤

A few paces of trivia:
#1 You were surprised Pheobe was a twin. The reason is, when this started, the actress had a recurring role on another show, Mad About You, and when Friends first started airing, it was on right after, and so the writers asked the Mad About You writers if they could say they were twins, and they were fine with it, and we see her twin, Ursula, around once a season for the rest of the series.
#2 The last joke, Rachel talking to Mindy saying "I hope they have your old nose." ... We see Mindy twice, and the first time, she is played by Jennifer Grey, who had plastic surgery to fix her nose, and, while the surgery didnt make her look 'bad', you cannot tell by looking its the same person.
Friends is for me the very best sitcom of all time. I've watched this show easily like a 100 times. Hope you enjoy it

So glad I found you today! 😄I think it is great fun to watch two guys react to FRIENDS. It took me a while to appreciate Phoebe, but now she's probably my favorite for her quirkiness; her twin "Ursula" can be seen in the series Mad About You with Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt (her break out role).
A little FYI about Monica's apartment - it is "rent controlled" and under her grandmother's name and probably less than $1000 per month (in 1994$), that is the only way she is able to live in The Village, and also why Rachel taking a job at the coffee shop is enough for her to begin "getting by" as she lives with Monica.
I’m so thrilled you guys are watching this! My family has a weird connection with Friends. My brother was born the night the show premiered and my parents have the same anniversary as two characters (no spoilers, not saying who. I could be talking about Ross & Monica’s parents.)
Season 1 is actually my least favorite season but it just gets better and better! It’s one of those shows I’ve watched over and over! So happy to take this journey with you both & your viewers!

Friends opened the show with the song only in the pilot. Other episodes have the song after a few minutes in the show, like everyone else.

Ultimate crossover!!!
At the time this aired Lisa Kudrow (Pheobe) had a semi-regular guest role in a show called “Mad About You”. As a joke they incorporated the MAY character ‘Ursula’ into “Friends” by giving Pheobe an identical twin. It was a joke for the viewers who watched both shows bc they were on the same network.
I hope you guys enjoy the series! If you guys like this sitcom I highly suggest How I Met Your Mother. Another brilliant sitcom

19:49 fun fact, phoebe's twin was written in as a gag because the writers of this show also worked on Mad About You where the actress also starred in a recurring role, set in NY. they thought it'd be funny to have it set in the same universe to help explain to viewers of friends why the chick from Mad About You (which was way more popular than friends was at that time obviously) was in Friends but with a different name

Thats because like almost all shows, there's a start to a show where it may seem slow and whatnot, so as a tv watcher, you have to keep watching for the good seasons, otherwise you'd be too busy "hating"

This show is hilarious. I don't know how this is your first time. I watched this (the later seasons) years ago after school. And after watching the later seasons, I went back and saw the earlier seasons. I had to watch it that way because in 94-2000 I was too young and my parents didn't allow my sister and I to watch "Friends."

19:50 Lisa Kudrow was acting concurrently on Mad About You, a much bigger deal at the time. Aside from Seinfeld, most other contemporary NBC sitcoms set in NYC had no issue with interacting, so when Kudrow got cast on this show, they decided to just run with it.
Minor spoiler: if you stick with this show, there will be an episode that takes place entirely during a power outage. Many other shows that aired that same night also had their settings affected by the same outage.
It gets much much better really fast, just keep going

15:50 There's a lot of evcentric details to this show like Ugly Naked Guy that get brought up more often than youxd think. The only element that's more this show's bread-and-butter - beyond the actual characters and stories - is "wait, THAT actor was on this show?!?"

I haven’t watched this first episode in ages as season 1 is my least favorite. Watching this first episode, I get why there is the comparison with the British show Coupling. That first episode had a lot of sexual discussions and based around dating/relationships which basically every episode of Coupling revolves around. The difference is Friends moved to a more family place, while Coupling dialed the sexual talk to near 10
It will be interesting to see you react to this, I think I've seen most of the episodes but out of order on TV.

I dunno about good… it’s the EXPECTED thing, but most people are shit. It also doesn’t help that while he’s somewhat involved, 90% of his involvement is the woman who stole his wife insulting him and the wife who cheated on him treating him like HE is the problem.
… watching this when I was a kid has made me too invested. I’ve hated both Carol and Susan since I was like 6 years old.
