    The brass tubes on the DigiSync are things I made. The instructions say you need to burrow your way down to the ends of those rubber tubes on the bike and remove the short factory line and replace it with the DigiSync line. That seemed silly, so I made the brass tubes. Well, I cut some brass tubing I got at a hobby shop and smoothed the ends out nicely.

    Thanks HCU for the video to add to your series. Man, I figured syncing your TB's would be something difficult, but you just proved how easy it can be on our bikes. Its all about having the right tools.

    • @HalfClickUp

      Very much so. I’d imagine the traditional mercury tools wouldn’t be too difficult, but something about just looking at numbers on a digital readout that makes things SO much faster!

      Pretty crazy, right? I took her for a rip after producing this video, and she had a lope on cold idle that sounds like it’s cammed 😳
      I may bump the idle RPMs via the idle air screw to compensate for that.

    So I finally got around to getting me a digisync and hooking it up. Mine all evened out at 62. I'm curious if the reason yours was 180 is because of the four degree timing advance.
    I also read somewhere you can set number one cylinder to your specific elevation and then sink the other three to it.
    Love your videos bro I'm in Fort Worth we should definitely link up and ride.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There may be a combination of several factors at play here with respect to the numbers... even mileage probably makes a difference. Hey that's cool that you're in Ft. Worth. In 9 years of riding this bike, I've not once come upon another Fizzer on the road. Ain't that crazy? LOL

  • @aussiekieren147
    @aussiekieren147 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great tutorial again, thanks.
    I was just about to say, you could here the engine sound different, just before you said it. It was quite definite.
    One question though, do you adjust anti-clockwise to increase the readout?
    Cheers,
    Kieren

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You turn the TB adjustor screws clockwise to increase pressure bars, and counterclockwise to decrease pressure bars. In my case as you saw here, all three TBs needed an increase in pressures to match the cylinder 1 control.

    According to my analog gauge cylinder one started at 31 cmHg. What was the 180 vac measurement in? Psi, Kpa?

    Looks like Amazon has them for between $176 and $246 depending on the one you get. 2 channel, 4 channel or 6 channel. That's pretty cool though. I wonder how challenging the Tiger will be once it needs it. You should do a video for that bike as well. Curious to see how complex it might be.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Tiger is the easiest of them all. It’s done graphically via laptop computer and TigerTool software. You need a special dongle available on eBay which you connect to the ODB port under the seat. The first time I did it at 12k miles and needed to tweak cylinder 3. I checked it again at 24k and it was still good to go. TigerTool is free and available through the Tiger forum at tiger800.co.uk

    So after some riding do you think it helped a lot even though yours werent that far out? My bike has 10k miles now, trying to decide if the Digisync is worth the buy? If I do it, Ill use the digi sync for sure.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Man when it comes to these things, the benefits are unseen, but ya just know that the bike is running more efficiently. It has learned the adjusted idle now, too, and doesn’t start with that weird lope anymore, so it’s a noticeable difference for me.

    What could be the issue if you can get "screws" 2 and 3 to be the same as number 1 but you can't raise number 4 (can't get it to be even on the scale with the others by a lot) Valve clearance issue? Bike runs fine tho

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First I would rule out the instrument you’re using. Confirm that the vacuum connection on cylinder 4 is secure and not the cause of the anomaly. I wouldn’t think valve clearance to have an effect on vacuum balancing. If the intake valve on cylinder 4 was that out of spec, you’d think it would at least noticeably affect how the engine idles. It’s worth noting that the service manual calls for throttle body replacement if they can’t be calibrated.

    Does the power commander work the same way?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No the Power Commander is used for adjusting fuel trims in the ECU’s fuel mapping by way of the specific tune you’re running. Throttle body syncing is a physical adjustment of the air/fuel mixture for purposes of balancing the four throttle bodies together.

      It is a bit of a splurge, but I had the Motion Pro, which wasn't quite as easy. More importantly, after a decade it dried out and was useless. No, you can't just refill it, or I couldn't anyway. I tried. The Digisync is just too easy. Of course if you compare it to paying to have a shop do it, then fugeddaboudit.
