@Andrew Berg, so you’re going to do a reaction to some of the rap line songs!😄 Well your wife mention that she really liked SUGA ‘s RAP part in Butter, well buckle up Andrew because SUGA aka Agust D ( his other persona when he does his solo rap projects!) “ Daechwita “ is A cinematic film/mixed with the rap god all in one Music Video!) RM is a lyrical genius he can take Korean and English and put them in his rap style his cadence and flow and the way he switches back-and-forth is pure genius for instance if you do the music video “JOKE“ you will see how many flow switches and different from English into Korean how smoothly he does that and how many times did he switch up them the flow I lost count but you’ll see how lit and intricate his pattern is! J-Hope is strictly a hip-hop be boy street dancer when he first joined BTS he didn’t know anything about how to rap if it wasn’t for RM and SUGA helping find his flow in style which is completely different from the other two rappers and BTS but he is definitely a quick learner and study when it comes to knowing how to dance quickly he also is a very good rapper! Check out his “ 1Verse” there is only a color-coded lyrics for that but also check out “daydream“ that is a great music video to start out with! They do have a song called “Save Me!” And that particular font in Fake Love, if turned upside down, reads “I’m Fine” - which is ANOTHER BTS song. I highly recommend listening to Save Me and then I’m Fine back to back, they almost act as musical ambigrams of each other.

As a writer, your wife is probably gonna LOVE the BTS Universe (which, if you get into, explains the meaning behind the Snickers bars). I'm a writing major and the complexity of it all is something that really hooked me. Also I just want her (and you, if you dont know already) to know that Namjoon who writes so many of their lyrics used to write poetry for school, so it makes his writing style make so much more sense to look at them like you're breaking down a poem.

Then at 11 heard hip-hop +poems became lyrics/melodies/beats, at 12/13 into rap underground +wrote/produced for himself, his rap grp +others, then began collabs w/ZICO +others, youngest there. Like Suga, rap/hip-hop is his life. He argued w/his worried parents, like Suga (his IQ=148/Genius/Top 1% Korean grades) threw away his lyrics/destroyed his computer, like Suga, cuz they didn't understand his passion back then...RM +Suga both eent thru depression, these 2 were meant to meet.
Billboard named RM #3 + Suga #9 "Top 10 Songwriters of 2020"! RM is also 2ND (w/Psy) + Youngest Most Credited Artist at KOMCA w/176 songs. Only GDragon hasw/197 songs. RM may catch up soon.. 😊💜

A quick fun fact about the choreo: the members are covering their eyes, ears and mouth and they said in interviews back when they were promoting Fake love that it means "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"

BTS' music videos are a trove of hidden clues, visual treasures & references to the BU storyline (there's actually a very sad story behind J-Hope & those snickers). In my 50+ years I've seen music videos from more than a few artists, but no one does it like these wonderful 7! Blood, Sweat & Tears is another masterpiece.

The choreo has so many highlights! The puppets falling, Jimin moving puppets, J-Hope being reflected differently by the other members who dance delayed and then talking to his image on the mirror -JK- who doesn't look like him... Yoongi passing with a shadow of hurtful fightings, they trusting on the other -Jungkook and V, Jimin and V- and abandoning or hurting them -Namjoon and JK, Jin and Jungkook at the end-, and the feeling of "I can't keep with this but I can't stop it" so anguishing. A great choreo.

The Save Me is an ambigram and upside down, it reads Im Fine. They also have a song titled Im Fine and its like a continuation of Save Me. There are parallels in the lyrics, and particularly, Namjoon's verses are like an ambigram.

There are already 147 episodes and they do everything: play traditional Korean games, visit theme parks, learn new skills (from cooking to sports to flower arrangements) and escape games. And Jungkook somehow seems to have the need to run around to achieve his goals.... Even when the rest is just peacefully walking

For your wife I recommend Blood Sweat and tears (has a lot of symbolism), the truth untold, Black Swan, Bapsae/Silver Spoon (talks about society) and from the rapline I highly recommend Persona, Shadow, Ugh and also Ddaeng (has a lot of Korean wordplay but you might need an explanation video for that one)

the things like the candy pool, J-hope is lying on aren't random, everything has a meaning in this clip, (everything has a meaning in bts tbh) it's actually connected to a whole storyline beginning much earlier with songs included "I need you" and "run" for example; bts isn't just a music band, it's a band that creates art in its whole. and this song is part of a bigger picture of a story.

She is really sweet ❤❤ i feel like both of you need to watch spring day mv and the explanation, i think both of you would really like it either by the music in general or the topic regarding the song's meaning itself. 18:35 in the BU J-Hope story was he left alone by his mother in the amusement park when he was a little boy, his mother only left him a piece of Snickers, so in the MV we can see he was like trap in his past wich is amusement park and candies, where he tried to lock the door but the candies keep coming no matter how hard he tried and in the other MV (extended version) he's eventually drowning away in the candies.

Fun fact about 'Save me', if you flip the writing it says 'I'm fine'. Like you said they have a song Save me and then years later they released song called 'I'm fine' and it is Save me reversed and the lyrics are also mirrored. It would be fun for you to compare these two songs how they mirror each other and for your wife to maybe analize how the lyrics are mirrored

The in-universe MVs start with the original version of the "I Need U MV", the "Butterfly" Prologue VCR from the HYYH: On Stage tour, the "Run" MV, the "Epilogue: Young Forever" MV, WINGS short films, the "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" MV, and most importantly the Love Yourself Highlight Reels. In case this block format was a little too intimidating, here’s a list:
- I Need U Original Ver. MV

- Run MV
- Epilogue: Young Forever
- "WINGS "short films (Do watch all of the shortfilms. These are critical! Make sure to find versions with English subtitles!)

There is the "Save me" webtoon and notes that tells and completes the story. At 22:12 the "Save me" that you see written on the wall behind Taehyung reads "I'm Fine" when flipped upside down. It is an ambigram. They also have a song called "I'm Fine" even musically the chords and progression is a reverse of the song "Save me". BTS are musical geniuses!! Please react to all the MVs from the BU in the order I have mentioned and you'll definitely start making all the connections! Hope this helps.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but all the effects (water, fire, floor falling away) were real practical effects that were done, no cgi.

Also the " SAVE ME " in the wall has alot more meaning to it. I don't know if i should say this (spoiler) but if you read it upside down it will become " IM FINE "
I think the meaning of it was we usually say "im fine" but deep in side you are hurting or in pain.
They have songs titled "Save me" & "Im fine" this two songs is link together.
Also for the music videos they have a story line. That is still on going till today.. it's gard to explain but when it comes to BTS its always way more deeper, more detailed. Everything that you see in their music video has a meaning. Even that SNICKERS 🥲 They are hardworking man, Kind people too 💜 (they have the best brother hood i can confidently say that) they have a very genius team. I respect everyone working with them behind the scenes.

Rewatch the mv and go to the glass scene where save me is written! If you look upside down then you’ll see the word changes into “I’m fine”! Fake love mv is interconnected into BTS’s current, long and difficult, storyline so many references you will definitely not understand aha!
This song was part of a 3-album series that described the stages of love. The first album, LY Her was about the newness, wonder, and fantasy expectations of love. The second album, LY Tear was about the disillusionment of finding out things were not what you thought. And the final, LY Answer, was about the importance of loving yourself first. This song, Fake Love was on the second album. There's a rap track from that one called Outro: Tear which is 🔥🔥🔥

This is part of the BU (BTS universe.) A continuous storyline forms within all their Music videos.
That's why J-Hope was on a pile of snickers. In the story, he was abandoned by his mother in a theme park with only a bar of snickers and so it became his tormenting nightmare. A constant reminder of being abandoned.

Caitlyn is so sweet and cute! Butter is COOL but their Korean songs are always so much DEEPER. Their choreo are always out of this world. The level of artistry is unbelievable! Talk about contemporary dance, please check out black swan, it’s what blew my mind and got me to dive into the rabbit hole. Literally I had never seen anything like that. The blending of contemporary dance and pop music. Jimin is a classically trained contemporary dancer and Jin (Caitlyn mentioned they’re good actors) went to university for acting. The level of their talents! Jimin literally makes me cry whenever he has a solo contemporary dance performance. Check out MMA live performance 2018 2019 and 2020 to see what I mean. Once you’ve seen those performances there’s no turning back. You will become army for life. Don’t get me started on Jin’s acting haha. Jin is my bias. I think suga may be becoming caitlyn’s bias. In addition to being a rapper for BTS, he writes and produces music for BTS and other musicians. He released two mini-albums as AGUST D - highly recommend 'Daechwita' from his album "D-2", you will both love it. From the BTS album "Map of the Soul: Seven", you will definitely enjoy SUGA's 'Interlude: Shadow'. The concept of the album is based on the psychological theories of Carl Jung (Persona/Shadow/Ego) - RM has 'Intro: Persona'; SUGA has 'Interlude: Shadow' and J-Hope has 'Outro: Ego'. There are of course other songs, but if you like the rappers, you can start with those. [The BTS discography is vast and diverse - if I listed it, you'd be amazed. Take it on faith that SUGA plays classical piano as well as basketball.]

Singularity and Fake Love are from the same album! Thier albums usually come in trilogies and have themes (accept for a few stand alones) All the looks and sounds (kind of) and lyrics create a broader theme and concept which later become “eras.” This is a Kpop thing not just BTS except BTS goes hardcore into album series and also has an ongoing storyline sprinkled throughout all the eras. So in Kpop lingo we would say Singularity is from m the Fake Love Era. Not only is just a super cool way to do things it’s also just really smart marketing. The more you watch the more you want to watch and the more things make sense. Also the more you want to REwatch and get those views up. It also speaks to the quality of Kpop and especially BTS videos because the attention to detail is so extreme there’s always more to discover or another hidden Easter egg going on somewhere in the background

Yes, Fake Love is related to the BU, where the butterfly effect is important, where the time ends, the glasses break to show that the time loop starts again, and there is a flower called Smeraldo that symbolizes the truth untold or the fake love, the same that Singularity talks about. And yes, the BU is SAD but because they start in the end, and slowly find the map of the soul, the path to love themselves. Also, Fake Love live (in MAMA, in MMA, in Golden Disc Awards) is amazing.

Singularity was released as the Intro/teaser and then Fake Love was released about a week and a half later as the title track so they are definitely connected!

Jungkook is such a good runner that he had to do another take on the floor-falling scene bc he cleared the hallway before the first part of the floor finished falling. So, he had to run slower in the next take to make it look like he was actually in danger (he talks about it in their livestream before the *Fake Love* MV dropped).

Fake love is one of the music videos that has a lot of symbolic signs, BTS created this universe that has lot of stories and it all connects you need to pay attention to the details even some writing which you wouldn’t really notice and butterflies etc. For instance, the snickers scene where the member (jhope) acting in, his mum left him in a theme park with a snack bar and never came back. (Not a true story it’s just part of the ‘universe’ storyline)

I have been really happy to see couples documenting their BTS journeys especially when the pandemic started. BTS really opened people's minds to kpop. Also, they have been such a source of positivity and hope during these times with Life Goes On, Dynamite, Butter, PTD and the whole BE ALBUM. Hopefully you will get to the point where you also check out other kpop groups. Yeah! BTS is a boy group but all members are a Justine Timberlake but honestly the are on another level. I watched a youtuber do a deep dive into tracks of the rapline like the flows, bars, cadence, the poetic lyrics, the double/triple meanings,the swag and I am seriously super duper blown away by this group and the raw talent that they all have. Mad respect for them! Their mvs are packed with a lot of symbolism and the whole BTS Universe is insane! They can all act esp. Jin who was an actor before BTS and V in the historical drama Hwarang (shout out to WOOGA SQUAD!).
Jungkook is known to be good at everything. Among the members he is the most athletic one and loves working out.. So could be the reason why he is always running 😅

That performance of Butter was their first live, and they have gotten a LOT better at it. The last one I saw was at Jimmy Fallon, and the whole set is pretty cool and it's a fun performance to watch.
Singularity is the Intro the "Love Yourself: Her" and Fake Love is the title track. They are the first and second tracks, so there is a clear connection between them.
Fake Love is one of the songs that really grew on me since I first heard it and the MV is a beauty as well. I really like it.
You mentioned the dance practice videos, and they usually are a one-take of the choreography as it will be performed live. In the music video, you will see bits of it, and focus on one member or the other, but in the dance practice you can see the whole thing, and it's really cool to watch and pick out the little details in the dance. And then there are the "version" dance practices, which go from cute to absolutely hilarious and not always intentionally.
And I also love that the bunnies became a theme.

lolz! JK is the most athletic member and he just picks up stuff in an instant. His hand-eye coordination is amazing. Golden Maknae! You can see this in the RUN BTS episodes. Even Bambam and Yugeoum (GOT7) said that 97liners hang out and mentioned that they went bowling. They were asked who was the best at bowling and they both laughingly said it was JK.

Also, I would compare the BU more to the Marvel franchise as it goes beyond 'Easter eggs' and is a complete storyline distributed through various mediums (MV's, VCR/Stage Content, Album Notes, Blogs, webtoon, Mobile game, and traditional "Easter eggs" in their social media posts). They do have throwbacks to earlier songs/mv's too (as you caught with "Save Me" from a much earlier album).
Not sure what kind of songs you want to react to next, but if you want to keep with the Jazz theme, 'Rain' is a good one. . . '134340' if you'd like to bring your wife back!😉
As far as musicality/production goes, I would suggest 'Dionysus' or 'Disease'.
