Yes they are stiff enough to work in a good way on the bind, but still enough flexible to be safe. Thanks for the nice words, Light sparring is very good to work on the form of the actions on a good number of situation. Still there is a number of other actions that become unusefull in this kind of training, so is a good idea to alternate both minimal gear spar and full gear one!
