His commentary one time for the Australian Grand Prix was magnificent. For we F1 die-hards, any valued commentary from a man of experience is precious.
Great episode! Love Mark Webber and his straight talking honesty. Eddie is an absolute gem and David was a super driver and is a commentating legend! Love this podcast!
Bloody Brilliant getting Mark on for this. I remember that first race in Melbourne for him. I was watching it in Perth, Western Australia with a few guys. We were absolutely going ballistic in those last few laps. The cheer when Salo had that half spin while Mark held him off was huge. So Gritty and determined , we loved it. 👏
Anyone at Whisper look at these comments? I met Mark when he was a driving instructor at Brands at the Nigel Manuel Racing School. He was not too well known them, but just a brilliant instructor and great bloke. His flying lap (just in a BMW 3.18i was incredible). I’ll never forget it. Would be great to somehow connect with him.
One of the best - No THE BEST - Podcast’s I listen to. You don’t even have to be into F1 to enjoy the intelligence and information imparted. David, Eddie and Mark are such great performers and entertainers.
I was a flaggy at THAT race. I was hanging so far out the flagpoint celebrating Webber's P5, one of my arms just missed getting collected by the rear wing. Fun times 😀
Fun fact!!! Mark Webber 1st F1 race was also my 1st F1 race as a fan trackside.... hearing those monster V10s for the 1st time, I was in shock 😲😲😲 what a beautiful sound of a race car.. my favourite era
Best era for sure. Light, nimble cars with a screaming V10. Nothing like hearing them live. So many more sounds than on TV. The change of direction of those cars was amazing.
I was lucky enough to know Mark and Anne. Met him when he was at Minardi and subsequently. He very kindly came to support me testing F3 at Silverstone once and gave me some great advice about the "wet lines". A top driver and genuine bloke.
That race was so cool. I'm German and was even younger than Mark. I was a fan of Senna and after he passed away I lost interest in the sport. It was so heartbreaking. But this race kinda got me excited again. And I kept crossing my fingers for Mark until he retired.🦘
I was in Melbourne that day with my mate. Mark is right, when Salo spun the crowd went wild! When Mark came past our stand at the end of the race everyone was on their feet.
Great viewing. Can't wait for the next episode to drop. These three fellas could tour the country under the banner of 'An audience with Mark,David and Eddie' I think it would be a sell out.
From expereince- You have to be in the right place at the right time to succeed- but people don't see how much hard work it takes to get to that right place in time. It doesn't just happen- no one knocks on your door saying "Let's make you a star out of a nobody!"
@@RAW555R ye but it's a replay with a 3 hours delay. the worst part is f1 tv was $5 and french broadcaster is $50. same problem with soccer; $50 subscription with minimum service. at least sky f1 for $50 you have a dedicated f1 channel 24/7, not 2 hours 1 week/2. it sucks to be poor. you eat rice and pasta. zero leisure, can't even watch f1 on tv.
I was there for that debut race in Melbourne and it was just insane to watch. Towards the end, we'd cheer so loud every lap we heard Mark's Minardi coming. I still have my race program from the race with Mark's signature on his profile page from race morning. We were all just happy to see an Aussie on the grid again. And with Oscar's win yesterday in Baku, Mark's doing a great job there too.
I've read that the turn 1 debris of Mark's first race was cleared by the Australian marshals. They had a quick chat along the lines of "if we don't move these cars this lap it'll be red flagged. This is an Australian's chance, let's lift 'em and move 'em" And they did.
Hands down the best F1 show in existence, DC and EJ are great and I could listen to Mark Webbers insights all day long. He brings other categories and the behind the scenes fandangling to life.
I once had the experience of being allowed to wait in the Jordan hospitality suite at Silverstone, waiting to meet an engineer who was late, for possible work. It was bloody great, especially as I wasn’t driving home! It was when RS and Fizzy were driving.
As a Chef in 1985 I arrived in St Thomas with 40$ in my pocket. No job,no where to live. I did a test that night and began work on the largest charter yacht in St Thomas. You make your own luck. Well done all three of you.
@@leroybrown8926Exactly. DC is still involved with Red Bull and EJ is Newey's manager with Red Bull and now Aston Martin. I bet there are a few other links that I don't know about too.
They might need to record some episodes when they come down for the Aus GP next year - there’s a few members of the Supercars paddock that were in and around F1.
Now that Adrian Newey has signed for Aston Martin, how can you, as a team, guarantee that gardening leave is respected? I can imagine that people will work from a different location or forward everything digitally.
I had the pleasure and honor to get to meet and know the Audi LMP1 Crew. Dr. Ulrich, Dr. Baretzky, André and his #7 car Crew. So Mark: I have reliable sources when I say: you are supposed to drive an LMP, not fly it.
Mark Webber was one of those guys that should have won at least 1 F1 championship- or maybe more, if it weren't for politics. His skill and his work ethic were there, and at the time, Red Bull had the car.
1 DMark was half a Euro. (51 cents per Mark, I think) I think one pound would be about 1.5/1.6-ish euros it would mean ca. 3 Mark for a Pound. So if the numbers are somewhat in the right ball park it'll be about 65k pounds.
Luv the banta...maybe get a upcoming small beer or spirits company as sponsor Australia has TV show called front bar...you guys are great...sorry for being a bit criptic
What on earth happened, I'm not sure how many times you'll have to listen back to that to understand what they were talking about, they went off in so many directions..Great tho.
To be honest I don't think Mark would of got the jaguar seat if it wasn't for James Courtney's big crash practising at monza. Apparently that seat was his up until that point.
An Irishman, a Scotsman and an Aussie walk into a podcast.... so great. thanks guys
Keep these Mark Webber episodes coming….. great conversation
Mark is a class act, always happy when he's at the races with DC on Ch4

This is one of the best interviews your've done no BS straight to the point.
i'd say it's The Best
I was at Albert park. Right in front of mark when he climbed the fence to celebrate with crowd. Great bloke brings back best memories. Thanks FFS
great having these three together again.Their friendship is clear and so much racing experience

It's still his old team in disguise. I wonder if he'll get Adrian to build a tractor and then buy the team back for £1. 😂
Poetic justice, remember once he was main at the helm a team from Silverstone.
These three have such great chemistry. Great Podcast!

Why does it really feel like Mark belongs with these 2? What an absolute join to hear these 3 speaking in the these 2 shows so far.
Marks debut was the first race i ever watched on TV. Barely missed a race since then
Brilliant having Mark on again
