Oh my goodness as an esthetician this is so painful to watch. There was so much unnecessary pain:( the wax was wayyyy too molten hot. When applying hard wax you use a figure 8 motion according to the milady handbook. Only with soft wax do you apply in direction of hair growth and remove opposite. It doesn't matter direction of removal with hard wax. When creating the lip for removal you do it within the first few seconds after application once it just becomes stiff enough to move, but doesn't adhere so you don't pull up hair causing pain. You don't slap the traumatized skin. You gently press down quickly on the spot you just waxed for about 5 seconds to confuse the pain receptors. Be sure to keep the skin taut especially when using soft wax. If the skin slaps back you could bruise. Super easy to bruise the legs. Plus his hair should've been trimmed before waxing to ideal length that's why it hurt him a lot more. If you don't get a clean pull the first time (because you've let the hard wax cool for too long) and the wax breaks in segments flip the hard wax strip over to the shiny side and press that to the left behind wax. That should stick and remove it. Just some tips to anyone who wants to wax!

Hard wax is actually less painful. Hard wax only adheres to hair and not skin. I’m not gonna talk about how wrong you did it because you guys always do preface by saying you don’t know what you’re doing... ps I hope you guys are sanitizing with alcohol.. Tom could get infected hair follicles or worse.
