Thank god for TH-cam and Internet man. My storage room got auctioned off and had in there half of my vinyls and mixing equipment from back when I was still in the game.. Countless of song names I couldn't recall, yet just by remembering one, TH-cam triggers a chain reaction of memory lane.

Again thanks very very much. The prog/techno I fell in love with in 2006-2007 at Avalon NYC was very dark, repetitive, percussive.. etc it's like prog with techno and psychadelic samples, usually by an Asian dj who was unknown,skilled a.f. and opening up for most of the names u mentioned when they played Avalon..I say that bc i think Avalon had its own brand or format they expected their djs to follow idk but I've seen Danny t, Sasha, pete tong, deep dish, sander kleinenberg (one of my favs), ferry corsten,silicone soul, roger sanchez, timo maas, infected mushroom, hernan cattaneo (check out live at moonpark 2003 it's hard to find more like it), Steve lawler..all the greats..and they sounded like their styles were very diff from usual but had a lot in common to what each one was playing and nearly everyone who was anyone stopped by Avalon for a set in the early,200os before they tragically closed. Again .many thanks. I'm desperately trying to find an edm place to spend my bday in this Sat but nyc is breaking my heart.. nothing I Know is open or there..no one has a desire to dance or anything playing to help. Idk where this is going but I have to be surrounded by edm this Sat. I noticed there are some yacht edm cruises tho the dates change but anything outside of that?
@@XanderShiller no worries about the lovely rant. great to see enthusiasm about the old scene. there was an Avalon in Los Angeles that I went to a lot. i saw sasha perform the involver tour there. rabbit in the moon was awesome at avalon and many more. everyone you mentioned i have a scratched cd in a binder and a mint record on the shelf. the last show i had tickets too was a sasha & digweed tour that never happened last year. i was heart broken. i have seen them separate over the years but the last time together was in 01 for the communicate tour. Los Angeles is like New York in that big city shut everything down. good luck finding some fun on your bday. might be hard to find the old scene right now but maybe some modern techno djs are playing somewhere. not as groovy as the old prog house but it hits hard and has a similar sound. heck i would take in some edm just to hear some bass out of the house. lol.
