No matter what is going on around them, when they are together they can feel like actual teenagers. I feel like for Archie the line between love and lust became blurry. Because he was manipulated twice and was being used for his body. Varchie is solely based off of physical contact. And bughead, don’t get me wrong I love them together, is such a toxic relationship and shows the relationship we all hoped would work.
Also a lot of you will probably bring up the fact about Archie rejecting Betty during the dance in season 1. Well if you go to the episode where Archie gets mauled by the bear and has this weird dream. You’ll notice that Betty is wearing the same exact dress that she wore the night of the dance. Indicating that Archie thinks about it a lot of most likely regrets the decision he made. But you can’t blame Archie because at the time he was being used by ms. Grundy and was being tricked and manipulated. She made him think that they were in love and Archie, not knowing any better, believed it.
