Sam, your not kidding. RVs are just not built very well. RV owners never get bored when there is always something to get after.

Replace the fitting. Adapt over to a correctly sized barb. Add pip clamp.

Mine leaked from near the top. I replaced the tank. After 21 years the Nomad Scout needed it.

So glad I watched your video, we bought my grandson a camper because he was going to college and working, and seemed like the best solution, well the camper is only a few months old and nothing but problems, first it was the toilet, kept leaking we finally got that fixed right (we have never owned a camper s we were as green as we come) then our grandson called and said something was leaking under the camper, he said it looked like it was coming from the fresh water tank, and after looking at it as you found out we also noticed the under liner was holding the water and was so full that it was dripping on the ground, but also was coming into his bedroom, anyway we called the place we purchased the camper but they said we’d have to bring it n and would take from 3 to 4 months before we got it back, that wasn’t going to work, because our grandson didn’t have another place to stay for that long, so we are still trying to get that fixed before anymore damage to the camper happens. So frustrating

Mary, Thank you for your comment. It is so sad but very true, the fixing never seems to end. Just the way it is unfortunately.
The GOOD news is, we do not have to be an expert to fix these problems. We just need to have someone show us what we can do for ourselves.
The more videos I make, the more i find that so many people just want to have a FUN camping experience and to not be disappointed by the many problems that arise. I hope you are able to fix your son's leak. ** Try using the Tank (or vise versa) instead of the city water connection directly. That might buy you the time you need for the repair.

6:08 maybe with the weight on the water in the tank is sagging and causing the stretching at the threaded elbow.

I have 1999 Safari Trek 2630. 1st, I noticed that the pump would run constantly when I turned it on. Then I noticed that the water level was dropping, even though I wasn't using the water. Then I noticed a small puddle of water, maybe 8" dia. after about 48 hrs. I went to fill my tank (1/3 as I was going to be travelling). I hooked it up according to the manual, opened the fill selector, turned on the water and the water went straight on to the ground. What am I missing.

smh, it's never easy is it? My rig was built from the inside out. I'm forever creating my own access panels lol. Great vid and a great job, especially in such small, unreachable spaces.

I tried your link to the sika flex and it isn't working. If I search sika flex I get tube's of caulk. I am trying to stop the same leak as you did.

I wonder if they stopped selling it. Try asking a local rv shop if they will see you little bit, that is the only thing I can think of

Grand design reflection 2017 I have a water leak but I have no ideal how to find it. It’s dripping from out from the rear of the trailer.

Those are tough ones to find. If you are going to try and find it yourself, i would really suggest trying the wifi endoscope mentioned in the video description. It has many uses and will keep you from having to take apart the underbelly of your rv..
      I hope that helps you🙂

My freshwater tank will not fill just beginning to explore the problem

    • @RVKevin
      @RVKevin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Ross, you will have two water connections in your rv. One for Cano ground pressurized hookup and one for water tank fill, check on both sides of your RV. I hope this helps your troubleshooting.

Are you having luck sealing the bottom with gorilla tape. I have a few places I have "explored" and non of the tapes I have used had last more than a few months.

i thank you Peter for watching another video of mine 🤩, being that you ARE an RV pro with many years of experience, i have much to live up to 🤩 in how i make this type of video.
I will keep you posted on the life span of the tape being under the trailer, i have been using this Exact tape for the last year for many temporary and permanent projects around my home.
      I love this tape 😍😍

I had a tire blowout and some belly damage. I found Bottom Board Repair Tape by AP products. Is lots more than I needed and not cheap but is holding well above the wheel well even. Only has been several months and a few rainy travel days but so far so good. Seems like I will get to try it some more after fixing my cracked plastic of the neck of the water tank drain. Thanks RV addict for the video.
