I've used thread for years... You gotta be prepared for it to go wrong but it is easy to cover a fail with showmanship. Sometimes you just have the wrong lighting and have to abort. If you are prepared to break string, you can push the illusions to clean exits and make brilliant miracles. Loops are where you start and you can carry one anywhere and do anytime. The Pen let's you do similar things but away from your body which is unique. I still have my spiderpen original I got in 2004. It still works.
I own a Tarantula and never got comfortable enough playing with it in front of the TV. At the time, it was one of the most expensive “tools” that I owned and stored after a couple of months. I determined that ITRs were not for me. HOWEVER your in-depth review inspired me to purchase this new version. You hit on every important point and concerns I’ve had over the years. David, this is the power your reviews convey. Thank You.
Spider Pen pro is what got me doing IT. There's something about it that simply leads to a confidence with IT that I didn't have before, and gave me the incentive to really put in the hours practicing the effects it makes possible. As a result I've been melting faces with it. Best of all, Spider Pen X is an improvement in every way over the original. Highly recommended - even if you swore to yourself you wouldn't do IT.
@Lagrange Point I’ve found several ideas and effects over the years, although few and far between, that were designed so well that it gave me the confidence to move into a new realm of magic and further inspired me to put in the work to develop the presentations further. I’m glad Spider Pen X did that for you and IT. Masika has released some gems which are in my arsenal and while I use them sparingly and only in the proper environment and situation based on the context of my performance, they always hit hard and achieve the result I desire. Keep blowing minds my friend and remember that the experience you share with your spectator is where the real magic happens.
I purchased the previous version and to be honest I think this is the reel that any magician should have. Tricks are awesome, hands free and the thread it's pretty strong. I love working with thread and I know it could be hard and scary at the beginning but with a lot of practice and patience you can achieve it. Avoid performing in day light and play with your thread to know its limits. I strongly recommend to try loops by Yigal Mesika if you are interested to work with IT.
@@magicorthodoxy Another quick question, is it still possible to lock the thread? The spools on the former pens have an X on the bottom which allows you to lock in the thread. Is this feature still present in the Spider Pen X?
I’ve used loops for some time and I want to upgrade to a reel, I’m stuck between this, venom and tarantula, which one would you recommend? My preference is only that it should be rather user friendly
@@magicorthodoxy so you recommend me to buy either spider pen or tarantula, great! But I remember watching your edc video in which you mentioned you carry venom so is there any specific reason that you don’t recommend it?
@@magicorthodoxy David, I’m a big fan of your honest reviews. I’ve been dabbling with magic for over 30 years and reviews such as yours provide a level of transparency to potential buyers which has restored my faith in an industry that was seemingly spending as much effort deceiving fellow magicians as we spend attempting to deceive our audiences.
I just got a spider pen x as my first itr, and learned that I can use effects from the pro on it. However, effects such as levitating a bill from the ground are not taught with the spx. Is there a way to learn the effects from the pro?
I’ve done magic for 46 years … (I’m almost 50)….. your reviews are honest, well researched and show absolute knowledge with regard to not just ‘magic’ but PERFORMANCE! I have met Yigal a few times. He is a genius …. And works tirelessly to ensure his products are not just perfectly designed, but perfect for the performer in mind. A wonderful review!!!
Dont buy psi power i bought it worked 2 times and stopped they used 2 cheap pieces of plastic with a cheap made motor glued on a battery that overheats it costs them 5 bucks to make this piece of shit and they sell it for 100 bucks whatever you do dont buy it however Venom is super nice
Curious why no one mentions that it can just be put in your shirt pocket?? Or does it move around to much and it becomes obvious moving around and it has to be hidden somewhat.
The AAAA is indeed a quadruple A and in fact, if to disassemble a 9 volt it is apparently just 6 quadruple As bundled together. So you know, if you're in a pinch, there ya go.
Yes, it is actually true. I didn't learn it from a video, it is an actual survival tip i picked up from camping. those A series batteries are all 1.5v. 6 of them in series makes a 9 volt
Double checking wikipedia. It has to be alkaline 9v. If you opened up a zinc carbon 9v they are still 6 batteries hooked up in series but they are a flat stack instead of AAAA perhaps someone can make a gimmick that utilizes those as well. Like a card shaped device.
Unless your making a movie to upload, is it me or unrealistic to do the leaf trick relative to how to unhook an anchor unless I’m willing to lose a lot of material and then repair. Is they fair?
I might have to get one for a bit of fun with the grandkids, I do have a question, though, I remember seeing a review about a trick where you can pull out an empty box of playing cards from your wallet and it magically becomes a full deck, then after you finished playing with them you put them back inside the box and you can fit it back in your wallet, Does anybody remember what it was called?
i currently had the spider pen in my brest pocket and womeone saw the wax and was like oh nice pen and nice idean to put glue on it so u can stick the pen on to ur wall😂
Glad, finally you review this pen. Awaiting you for this. Thank you very much. I have one question, how to roll-up the thread? We need to push the button? Or its programmable timmer? Thanks again
Awesome review David, does he show you how to do all of the other tricks you can do with the previous spider pens or how to float a life saver or pen in this one. I got tarantula 2 a while ago and then saw this but I don't know if I will be able to float lifesavers and rings like the one I have now with this one, thanks! 😁
i always wanted tarantula still want it but i could never afford it wont be able to get this too its awesome tho. converted into my currency its 2000 plus. maybe one day
Dont buy tarantula mate i bought tarantula 2 and it never worked defective 75 bucks down the drain i really dont want you to lose your money i really hope you dont go for it and be dissapointed i warned you
Oh my, another spider pen. I have known Yigal and we used to hang out at the Magic Castle. He is nice but he would make fun of me for my micro ITR. I am not for the Pen, after owning several and tarantulas too. The Soul technology he uses is not as reliable for what works for me. Venom is ok, Sorcery Magic ITRs were good too. I even have more faith in Jo Jo's Web Spinner and Super Spinner. It really depends on what you need it for and every magician loves a toy 👍
With the X pen, is it possible to make a ring rise? because it is explained in the purchase of the spider Pro pen, in the purchase of the spider X pen it is not included in the explanations ....Thx a lot
🤔 I haven't messed around with IT that much other than a flap card. I worked retail for years and having a pen stick out of my collar, breast pocket, behind the ear.. so it wouldn't be a weird thing. Spider pen is going on my list. How loud is it? 👍🤓👍

I was actually disappointed with the product that was purchased. For the price, very little wax, and the plastic insert on the cap is, what I consider defective, my thread has broken four or five times while just trying to work with it right out of the box.

IT is so versatile and not only for the obvious levitation type effects but for many other deceptive uses. I’ll not necessarily “touch” on that here.

Venom or PSI power or spider pen X
And tell me who is the best at the strongness of thread and invisibility

I really liked Venom - it hides better, although I don't think you can find it anymore

True, it probably could
I have the first pen and I love Loops. It’s one of my EDC! Thank you for this review. I’m going to buy this.
loops are my favorite
I take my spider pen easiest tool I've ever used taught my 10-year-old to use it he's got it down perfectly
awesome !!!

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review you put it up pretty fast 👍👍👍👍
No problem 👍 👍👍👍👍
What do you think is the best budget it?
I dont understand
Just this Question Dave
Can I do the ring Spin
Or coin Spin with this ?

I dont know one where you put it BACK INSIDE when you're done - sounds a little like Flat Pack,
