    Bought this model last year in October. Do i need to change the oil before using it this year +

    • @gigiraymond9267
      @gigiraymond9267 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir , you need to change the oil at least once a season , all depends on how many hours you use it per season . Very lmportant use full synthetic motor oil , 5w30 like the manuel recommends , or you can also use a 0w30 synthetic motor oil .

  • @Peter-976

    That is a great little single stage. This and the Ariens commercial SS21RC are impressive machines. I favor the Ariens only because of the extra build qualities of the commercial application but I would not hesitate to purchase this single stage one bit.

    • @igormord8636
      @igormord8636 3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @dgordon130
    @dgordon130 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Greg, I have the prior model, a Hs520 and it's awesome. One horsepower down from what you have but for any suburban setup the Honda's are excellent. Original owner and zero problems. Just keep the gas fresh and oil changed and they run forever. A foot of snow is a good rule. If the stuff is really heavy and packed the hardest part is your first pass getting through it. Then you can take a portion on each pass and its quick as heck.

  • @cameriqueTV
    @cameriqueTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. I noticed @5:58, it's pushing snow out to the right side, does it always do that? I've also heard the chute direction control locks up. Have you had that problem?

    • @Papi4l2
      @Papi4l2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chute control COULD move better, i agree. when i first bought it, i took it apart and put silicone grease around the area where it turns on inside to help water from getting in there and freezing. did help a lot. biggest issue i had with it was the snow collecting around the wheels and freezing and not allowing the wheels to spin. pretty annoying

    • @JeffJohnson-1982
      @JeffJohnson-1982 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Papi4l2 I've read and heard about the icing on the wheels.Has Honda come up with a idea yet on how to fix the problem? I currently have a Ariens path pro and this model doesnt seem to have the icing problem with the wheels. I'm thinking about also purchasing this Honda HS 720. I like the shoot controls on the Honda. But it seems to me that the Ariens model might be built a little more beefier than the Honda.

    • @Papi4l2

      @@JeffJohnson-1982 i havent heard anything. I ended up buying wheels for a toro and put those on. Was selling it to my mom cause i was just annoyed by the whole thing. But i used it once with the toro wheels and no issues. My mom has used it like twice and hasnt had issue. I'd recommend taking chute off and pulling off the top to grease the gearing so the chute moves better. To be honest. I ended up buying the Toro QZE821. Bigger engine, chute moves flawlessly. Only downfall is u have to move angle on chute manually...but moves super easy. Im still way happier with the Toro then the honda. And no wheels with the issue. Lemme know if u have any more questions.
      Also, the toro wheels i bought for the honda was like $20 a piece...so throw an extra $40 on top of the honda🙄

    My 720 has trouble going up my driveway ever since I had the concrete re-placed. Does this mean my paddles are worn out? Seems like the broom finish is preventing it from going uphill.

    • @paulyshore98
      @paulyshore98 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mct8888 are you lifting up on the handle? You need to do that in order to make the paddles contact the ground and make it move. If you’re doing that and it’s not moving, then yes you likely need a new paddle/scraper bar set.

    • @mct8888
      @mct8888 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulyshore98 Yes, I lift up on it, but it goes nowhere. It's almost like the scraper blade is getting caught up on the concrete grooves. I end up having to push down on the handle, which causes a thin layer to be missed.

    Does anybody have issues with the wheels freezing up and now wanting to turn anymore?
    I dont think its freezing on the shaft really. The tires are rubber and collect snow in the tread and freeze. Ive been thinking about switching the wheels out for plastic toro wheels

      i changed the wheels out this year for the GENUINE OEM TORO PARTS - WHEEL ASM 117-2309. tonight was the first time i used it and it worked perfect. no issues at all.
      i before i put those wheels on, i put silicone grease around the shaft incase the wheels were getting stuck on the shaft...just incase since i had them off anyway. i also bought 2 stainless steel 1'2 inch washers to put behind the wheels. i noticed little notches on the old wheels like they were hammered on too hard during manufacturing process against round tube that the axle is welded onto.
      used the same push nuts cause they werent damaged, and the wheels worked awesome. im gonna be selling this snow blower to my mom so i will be to see how they last long term, but for tonight, these def. worked

    Very nice video and it seems like a real nice snow blower. I presently have a Toro single stage but it is hard starting when trying to start without the electric start. The only reservation I have about the Honda is that most single stage units are 21 inches and the Honda is 20. Don't really know how much that really matters though? Very impressive snow blowing at the end of your drive way. Thank you for posting this informative video.

    Nice professional like video presentation. After owning worthless Toro company's highly touted ones, I will NEVER go back to such a poorly oriented customer service company. Plus I spent way too much on repairing it (CCR 2450 - 2006 model). Honda is a much better quality machine, and it is the way to go! Starts reliably, runs reliably and clears even the heavier wet WI. snow quite well. And, you don't need to do the fuel with 50:1 oil mix (four stroke engine). Worth the 779.00 bucks.

    It is horrible in anything over 6 inches. Wet snow clogs it, top and bottom. Unless you want an upper body workout every time it snows, get a bigger machine. Btw, my town leaves way more snow at end of my driveway.
