What about having a 5G router line with no built in Wifi, to act as a 5G backup solution ? Chateau is tempting, but a bit overkill for an infrequent usage.
Why not just disable wifi in the router? It doesn't make much sense to have a dedicated device for a niche scenario - if this can be sorted with just one flick from the config.

What we need it a 5G version of the LTEap.
Outdoor 5G devices are also coming this year
@@mikrotik That is good news. Having an outdoor 5G range. :) Wether it has Wifi (which we could disable) or not is another question. I guess being outdoor makes wifi less useful, since we need to get back through walls. Unless you want external wifi of course. So many combinations... Anyway, thank you Mikrotik, the range is everyday more exciting.

Is there a SXT/LHG with 5G modem planned?
Any 5G external such as LHG / SXT soon?
Mikrotik just doesn't seem to listen. I've been asking them for a 5G version of the LHG and SXT for over 2 years now.
2 years ago we did not have any 5G devices. Now we have indoor models, soon we will also have outdoor models

The 2.5Gbe port should have been the default WAN port. Would have loved to have seen a default config for LTE/5G failover from a primary WAN connection. We had to write a lot of custom scripts in order to do this as well. Please start considering TR-369 support on your Wi-Fi devices.
MikroTik devices are easily customized and any port can be the default port. You can preconfigure them before delivering them to end users with Flashfig
This needs eSIM support ASAP. Could be an alternative to the peplink fleet we need to replace soon.

I think one of the models can host a SSD drive internally, but I am confused which one :)
The Chateau range does not support internal SSDs, however they have a USB slot that can be used for external drives.

If they let you use your own router then you can check your chosen Chateau then you could. Just make sure you get a model that supports the cellular bands used in your region.

no benefits in 5G when using indoor routers. Mikrotik please make a true 5G outdoor router width 10G interface and support of mmWave frequencies.
In cities there are benefits, where signal is good. No need for outdoor device in an apartment
5G ax pilnīga vilšanās. Wi-fi 6 tikai 1200Mbps. WAN -> LAN veiktspēja nekam neder. 5G telefonā ātrāks.

Is it possible to put them in a IP54 box to transform it to a semi-outdoor router on a rain and wind safe place on my balcony?
