I've been following you since before Les Mis. Since singing songs on your bed. Since before All I Know Now. And I am so freaking proud of you. I feel like a distant aunt or cousin watching you grow and flourish and I am SO VERY PROUD of you. It makes me teary eyed.

Please can this be a pitch to your publishers. Imagine a whole novel on this last 10 years of your career. Each show process properly broken down in a book. Little untold stories. Yup I’m here for it 😻

I am certain that 2013 Carrie would be so proud of you. Not because of all of your professional accomplishments, which are many, but because of all of your personal and emotional growth. You have grown so much. And it’s been a pleasure to grow with you.

I'm not really a comment person, but the last part of your video made me tear up. When you said your early twenties are the years when you learn more about life I felt such a sadness because I was 20 when the pandemic started, I'm about to turn 23 and I feel like I lost so much time, so many activities that I wanted to do, so many plans, so many dreams, and I don't know if I'll ever recover from everything that I didn't get to try because of covid.
And it hit me because people had told me so many times "well, at least you weren't in high school during the pandemic" or "at least you weren't working in a job you loved" or "at least you weren't a child who hasn't been to the park to play for the first time", but how do I explain that this years of growing and learning make me feel like I'm already failing in life just because I didn't get a chance to try more.
Love you were able to find your dream at an age where most of us feel lost, hope soon enough I can find my dream too and this times can be put behind us. Much love.
(Sorry, english is not my first language, so if there is any grammar errors, I apologize)

I can’t believe it’s been 9 years! I still remember coming home from secondary school and watching all your videos from around the time you were in Les Mis! So interesting hearing about the process as well, as someone who hasn’t gone to drama school but still holds out a fraction of hope that maybe one day I’ll make acting a full time job, this was nice to hear!❤️

It was a little bit of a shock to me that les mis was 9 years ago, because i remember the video when you announced it and back then I was..... thirteen, thirteen years old. wow. I love thinking about the growth I had and how you influenced it so much, i'm so grateful for you sharing it with us

I saw you in Les Mis in 2013! During the interval, I heard a woman say to her friend, “that Eponine has something about her, doesn’t she?” My heart soared for you. And it was true! You have a real presence on stage. I’m so glad I got to see you in this role.

Saw Carrie as Eponine in March 2015 and since then I have seen her as Truly, Wednesday, Fantine and Cinderella. Didn't manage to see her as Veronica or the Parsons Wife sadly

Carrie, I don't know if you will see this comment, but I saw you in Les Mis in July of 2015. I was sitting in the balcony house left. I was already enamored by the show, but when you sang On My Own, I was on the edge of my seat. And 13 year old me, with tears streaming down her face, decided right then and there that she wanted to try out for the school musical the next year. I had never sung or acted before, but I worked that entire year, and I got the part of Jane Banks in Mary Poppins at school my first year of high school. Since then, I decided to go to drama school, I am going to graduate this year and already have a few auditions lined up for after I graduate. Thank you for the 13 year old girl you inspired, and to all the other girls you have inspired along the way. So thank you so much.

A side note on adults thats made me feel WAY more at ease with my "beginner" status:
    Beginner - 18 - 30
    Advanced 30 - 50
    Intermediate 50 - 70
    "Expert" 70+
(All numbers fluctuate let's be real)
I put expert in floaty commas bc I have a sneaking suspicion we don't ever feel like grown ups, we just get better at masking our floundering!

I've seen Les Mis twice on the West End. The first time in 2013 during a holiday to London, and the second in 2019 when they were doing the Staged Concert and I booked a 13h flight to London just to see it. So you've been my Eponine AND my Fantine!

My parents got me a trip to London and tickets to see Les Mis when I turned 18 and it was truly such an amazing performance. My best friend and I met Carrie at stage door after the show and I still smile whenever I see the photo we took. It was truly such an amazing version of Les Mis and a beautiful experience and I’m so glad that it was the first show I ever saw on the west end (I’m from Germany so all Musicals I saw before that were in Germany lol) nowadays I try to fly out once a year to go see a show but covid has not made it all that possible sadly but I’m hopeful I’ll be able to go sometime this year, I miss live theater so much 😭😭

I remember in 2013 when you were sharing about being in Les Mis as Eponine and I distinctly remember you saying the same thing you said in 7:43 haha About even if you didn't get the part you would be grateful for the experience of the audition. It's something that always helped me remember to be grateful for the things I do even if I don't succeed. It's such a small thing you said (to yourself) but it had a big impact on me when I first heard you say it (I was 18 in 2013).

I remember coming to see you in Les Mis! I was about 15 and was on holiday for Italy, and I remember I had asked for Les Mis tickets as a birthday present or something along those lines lmao. It stuck with me because not only was it my first West End show, it was also my very first time being at stage door, and I remember I completely froze when I saw you coming out the door cause I was so nervous! And I think you saw me panicking because you walked up to me and said hi and basically helped me make conversation., which was very sweet of you and I will forever be grateful for that. Now I am 22 and have a degree in theatre studies from a Scottish university, and I always talk about how seeing that performance of Les Mis is one of the main things that made me fall in love with theatre. Thank you!

I have a photo of meeting you at stage door right when you must’ve first been in Les Mis, back when there was like 10 people at stage door. I must’ve been 16 and also SUCH a baby. And I had the best chat with you, we talked about the show, we talked about doctor who and Sherlock. And despite meeting you briefly at other stage doors and book signings since, I always hold onto that first time the most. It’s been amazing to watch your career and your growth over the last 9 years ❤️

9 years ago 🤯 How time flies!! It was such a beautiful, best birthday present was to see your last show of Eponine!
You made me felt in love with musical theatre by having that role so I will always be thankful for that!!
I can’t agree more about the learning in your twenties I’m on the same path and we did it!!
You were a fantastic Eponine and I love looking back at all the time I went to see you 🥰🥰
Can’t wait to see the next show review 😁😁😁

  • @liduque

2013 was the year I was studying abroad in the UK, and although I hadn't ever seen or read anything about Les Miserables, I knew you'd just started playing Eponine, and I just thought, 'well, I think I'll go check it out then'. And I'm so glad I did! Les Mis is, until this day, the greatest art performance I've seen live, by far. I was at the theatre by myself, so my attention was 100% directed to the musical, and it just kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole three-hour (did I get it right? It's been nearly 10 years now!) spectacle. And, you know, adult Eponine doesn't show up right at the start of the show, so in the first moments I was a bit worried I'd bought tickets for the wrong play, or something, 'cause Carrie just wasn't there! hahah
It was so great seeing you perform, you killed it! It just felt like you were a good friend of mine, I felt so proud! I guess that's what youtube vlogging is all about, isn't it. Didn't get to see you at the stage door for some reason, but it wasn't a big deal for me anyway. Haven't seen a Carrie video in years, but this is such a fond memory for me, that I just had to watch and share this comment.

I remember when you got the role of Éponine. I looked up to you so much, and to think that now I am older than you were then and now in my early twenties, which you say are your most formative years, it makes me feel like there is still so much exciting stuff waiting to happen to me too, like I have seen for you over the years. This video brought happy tears to my eyes

i was fortunate enough to see les mis on new year’s eve 2015 and i cried the whole time. i’ve been watching your content since like 2012 and that moment seeing you onstage, being in London for the first time which was another thing i had wanted to do forever; it was a dream come true. 15 year old me was beyond words. i still am at 21.

  • @QuarterMoonRachel
    @QuarterMoonRachel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I saw you in Les Mis in 2015 during my first year of uni. I'd grown up listening to and loving the 15th anniversary concert recording and had been lucky enough to see a touring production at a local theatre, but I'd always wanted to see it properly at the West End. I took my mum and we both had a wonderful experience.
I was 20 in 2015 so your talk of looking back on that age really resonated with me. I'm nearly 27 now and I still don't feel like a proper grown up (will I ever?) but I do look back at 20 year old me and realise she really was so young, trying to prove herself to the world but not having a thing figured out yet.

So lovely. I love the role of Eponine, being madly in in love she can't have. I've loved Les Mis, since I watched the Swedish original production when I was 11 and then I watched the show at the West End in 1992, then I allowed myself to watch the show several times when working in London in my 20s. This makes me emotional, the dream of working as an actress

I remember seeing you in Les Mis in 2013, in June, just a couple of days after West End Live. I got the very last ticket available about three hours before the show! It was the start of Something with a capital S because I’ve now seen the show 30 times, in three different countries (England, Sweden, Norway), three different languages (English, Swedish, Norwegian), four different cities (London, Karlstad, Jönköping, Oslo), and five different theatres (Queen’s before the renaming, Gielgud, Wermland Opera, Spira, and Folketeateret). So thank you for sparking that Something!

Les Miserables was my first introduction to live musical theater ( I’m from California hence the spelling 😀). And I have been obsessed for years and years, I’ve seen the play live 17 times and I’ve watched every anniversary special. I would give anything to be someone in the ensemble. I’ll sweep or raise a glass or weep. I know all the words! It’s a fantasy I know. But I hold on to it because I love the play so much. Carrie your Eponine was probably one of the best because you are an amazing singer and actress. I wish every success always. 🎶❤️

My brother, nephews and I came to see Les Mis in 2013 and my nephew was so happy that you were appearing. We came to the stage door and you were so incredibly gracious and kind. I am hoping you will come to Australia. If you you ever find a good role that you can't resist!

I have a les mis programme from about 2015 when I was 8-9 years old and I found it today and I decided to see if you were in it as Eponine and you were! And it was really funny- I’m 15 now so the programme is falling apart but it was acc rlly funny.

I already know that this series is going to be one of my favourites. It's so cool to hear the process and stuff that happened in the shows you have done. Can't wait for the next one. I'm also coming to see Cinderella and Frozen for a double show day next month and cannot wait to see both shows after obsessing over their soundtracks.

It's so interesting hearing your thoughts on this with a few years (idk how long it's been) of perspective ❤ I remember being elated when you got the part and how happy you were about it all and I love how its like I've watched my big sister grow up and follow her dreams ☺❤

this was such a lovely video to watch Carrie. It's so interesting hearing your perspective and also how much time you have spent looking back and reflecting. I totally agree that you do the most learning in your early 20s, I sure did!
Can't wait for the next show-verview

Hi Carrie! I cannot believe I've been following you for so long. I am 25 now and I remember when I first came to London, saw you in Les Mis and bought your book All I Know Now which I still have on my shelf! It's amazing to feel like I've been growing up with you :) I wish you all the best! Pat x

Wow I enjoyed every second of this video, the audition process, the how it works onstage, what was going on in your life at the moment, the learnings along the way, these could last an hour each and I'd be excited to go grab my popcorn when I see there's a new upload and learn more about the backstage of it all every time 😊 thank you for sharing!

I remember the day you posted the video saying that you got the part of Eponine! I remember being so happy for you, now looking back, as you grew up, I was growing up alongside you. Couldn't ask for a better role model, and I can't wait to see where you are (if you're still on youtube) in ten more years. Congratulations on an absolutely fabulous career xoxo

Wow it both does and doesn't feel like that all happened 9 years ago! I watched all of that happening in "real time" on TH-cam when I was just becoming a teenager! I even saw the show, although you were on holiday (Celinda was absolutely amazing though, as was the entire show, so I wasn't disappointed!) 😊

So interesting to hear about those experiences now, can't wait to hear about some of your other roles (even the shorter ones, we were there for the But I'm A Cheerleader workshop and I'd love to know what that was like!)
