Finished a Dark Urge playthrough where I let Astarion finish the ritual, became his spawn, then finished my personal quest, promised to take over in Bhaal's name and then sat on the weird throne like a boss😂😂😂 Felt proud of myself for all the deception to get to that point.

Whoa, sounds epic and depressingly ominous at the same time! Well played xD
I'm not sure what, exactly, my ending is going to be. Larian didn't give us a chance to become a vampire any other way. My character will most likely spend years studying necromancy and documents in Cazador's Palace, to finally become a vampire spawn and to help Astarion to walk under the sun. Or make a deal with Raphael(she even admitted that she likes him xD). There is also a possibility to find the 'Wish' spell. All I have is my own imagination, alas.

@@Fenris--that's the beauty of the different endings to the game really. I've seen a lot of people complain that it's lacklustre but I like to think Larian made it open-ended so you can fill in the blanks and imagine how everything played out yourself. Personally, I like to imagine my PC made everyone else a thrall except for Astarion since he seems an appropriate person to rule the world with, same level of bloodlust and desire for power. Vampire Lord and Princess to the God of Murder.😂😂😂 Couple goals😂❤

I like the idea of becoming the 'power couple', although it has some flaws. For example 'he'll always see you as degrading yourself if you continue to be with him. But perhaps you wish to degrade yourself. And he knows it'. So pc is not equal to him, on a short leash('i granted you one drop of my own blood. You need not fear anything. But don't stray too far'), Basically, Tav is his toy, which he can throw away at any moment. Besides, he will sertainly have other 'favorites', undisguised infidelities. Also his words, before he turns Tav in his spawn, are both 'thank you' and 'the warning'('you have given me...everything. Thank you'). Tav has nothing to offer for him at this point, and she's ' going to be wonderfully obedient'. Astarion is a hunter by his nature, so he's going to be easily bored, since why bother if he already 'owns' his prey. I'm sure he'll always try to break Tav mentally even more, untill she'll become a pale shade of herself. Anyway, that's my humble opinion xD I absolutely adore Astarion as a vampire spawn, and very suspicious towards Vampire Ascendant.

@@Fenris-- I completely agree with you. I would never make Astarion a vampire lord while my PC was a normal Tav, the poor girl would be manipulated or locked in a tower like Rapunzel. Astarion becomes a big jerk as a vampire lord. Hence the reason for remaining Bhaal's chosen and taking over as Absolute during a Dark Urge run.
Staying as Bhaal's chosen means the PC is granted some extra power for doing her father's bidding, like the slayer form. Couple that with the fact the PC was already something of a commander before getting usurped and she has a tiny army that's terrified of her. And I earned Sarevok's respect by killing his granddaughter and I'm basically his sister(?). From what I can pick up from certain dialogue, I also think the PC knew how to make allies since Gortash and Raphael seem fond of them. Not to mention, the PC sounded like a pretty smart and somewhat demented person when you realise they came up with the plan to take over the Absolute by themselves and were just one step away before their crazy grandniece/sister got greedy and threw a wrench in their plan.
Astarion, on the other hand, is a newly established vampire lord with no real assets aside from the PC and whatever allies they made. He doesn't even have any vampire spawn of his own yet. He's powerful sure but even he doesn't know the extent of his capabilites, and the arrogance that comes from that power would open him to making mistakes. He's just arrogant with his newfound power. Plus, becoming Astarion's vampire spawn means he has just made you immortal. So immortality plus whatever powers Bhaal gives you plus being Absolute and boom, you got yourself a demigod PC.
Sorry Astarion, if anyone's a consort in my playthrough, it's you. But this is just my sadistic playthrough. I normally go the vampire spawn Astarion, reject Bhaal PC route and imagine the two of them trying to find a way to let the pasty elf find a way back into the sun. Protect "good" Astarion at all costs. "Evil" Astarion needs to be strangled with my PC's braid.

@@Gl1tchPix1e Then it makes sense, if you play Durge :D I haven't tried going through this backstory, because I'm still stuck on my first and current playthrough. However, I am still sad that the "evil" path received much more content, judging by your comment. I only had a few options related to my character's backstory(druid, rogue, bard, Baldurian) and nobody from PC's party reacted to it, nor there were funny events involved through the game. I guess, not as epic as having an army and being Bhaal's chosen :D
Thank you very much for sharing your perspective, I read your comment with the greatest enjoyment :D

Thank you for sharing this! It's really immersive and fun to watch! Never really played an RPG with romance options, but I see the appeal *winks*.

My problem with letting the spawns live is that it actually unleashes an army of wild, ravenous vampires on the world. Who had no education. They would probably wipe out Baldur's Gate in an hour if they were left alive.

If you let them live Astarion becomes their mentor and they live in the underdark with him after the end of the game. It's actually a good ending. They don't become a ravenous horde
