I was in an online group for YEARS devoted to him. I'm a bit younger but I remember the songs & him. I had a record player & played Shaun Cassidy & Donny & Marie. I had a couple of 45s of Leif. It was around this time, during Godspeed. I had the cd with this & Lola. I'm a huge music fanatic & I was sad he got screwed. Dude has enormous talent & could've been a huge rocker. I don't follow as much but I'd love to see him live & always wish him recovery & happiness. He really is a very sweet dude.
How can people be such HATEFUL PRICKS! I find that the people who will bag on someone for their problems usually have lived a charmed life and think EVERYONE has. Some of my online friends and I were interviewed for his VH1 special, but our segment was removed due to them locating Rolland.A few weeks later we were invited to fly out to Vegas to meet him ( only 2 of us could ), and once there, he had cancelled so we were flown to Tempe, AZ for the night to catch his show there.Regardless of his addiction, and the shock of his severe scars on his face and neck from the use of H...he was still so sweet, a complete gentleman and was social with us. I was grateful to meet him, and today, I'd do it all over again! I mean, come on...its Leif Garrett!! Muwaah!

I finally got that opportunity when I was in my early 30's as Leif was holding a concert in Ridgeland, MS back in 1999. After the concert Leif and his band were headed backstage. I personally got to to meet with him and tell him what I had stated all those years ago, kinda made my heart flutter. Leif is a super cool and sweet guy who just loves performing for his fans

I was also reading where Leif said(about just a month ago) that he was clean(at that moment in time) and there was no burn on his face...he did admit to a nasty ulcer on his hand that was still healing(bandana around his hand), but he was not high. I have watched a few copies of this and I don't see a burn on his face. What am I missing? But that aside, I commend him for his sobriety. Heroin is an evil drug and hell to get away from. I know, I lost my oldest brother to it.
