Thank you for this information! When I was watching the mv I was wondering about the firefly thing because Hotel Del Luna is the first and only drama I watched where IU in it.
The lyrics 'tonight I'll send the glow of a firefly' means that she wants to say 'I love you' to the loving one, but she doesn't want to wake him up because he was in asleep (which is a very precious value for her since she can't sleep well, like insomnia). So instead of waking him up and say 'I love you', she is sending a glow of a firefly to protect him from a nightmare and help him to have a good night sleep and a good dream. It's kind of her own way to express her love to a lover(she interviewed about this interpretation before) It's so poetic I love it. It's a great honor to have her in my era.
