Stupid question.....why don't you put the scrap book paper on the pumpkin when the mod podge is wet? You mentioned it's really smooth but is it hard to get smooth when you apply it when it's wet?
Not a stupid question at all!! You could put it on when wet! I used to do it that way, and then I discovered the heat method, and I was totally hooked! I just felt I got a smoother more perfect finish. Plus, I like that the edges are immediately dry and I can use my zip sander on them right away. The thinner scrapbook papers ( the lighter weight ones) can get micro bubbles under the paper if you use the wet application, so you just need to use some type of flat spatula, or preferably a piece of balled up plastic wrap ( works awesome!!) to smooth it out. When using the heavier cardstock scrapbook papers there is minimal chance of bubbling or ripples. It is a matter of preference which method one chooses. I have done both and I absolutely love the finish using the heat method. So, bottom line, you CAN use the wet method, especially with the heavier scrapbook papers, and when using the lighter weight papers, just be sure to gently smooth out any sign of bubbles or air pockets. I hope I explained that well? Thank you for the question and it actually was a very good logical question! Thanks so much for watching and always please feel free to ask any questions!!!
All of these turned out beautiful. Its amazing what you can do to Dollar Tree wood pieces. I think my favorite is the acorn. Beautiful work as always.
