Aww poor Geidré! Her English is excellent, there's no need for subtitles! Suuuuuuuuper envious of you going to Tokyo! are the beds in those capsule hotels comfortable?
I love meeting up with you Geograpeeps when I travel. You are the best part. More coming in #Singapore and #NewZealand (With quick stops in #Indonesia and #Malaysia!) Stay tuned for the next episodes of Geography GO!
Hi @GeographyNow! I would like you to visit the island of Madeira, the very beautiful and tropical island which i live in. And it snows there. No joke. Just go to the mountains. :P
Can't believe I just subscribed, should've took you around in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia! I am a native of Batam, born in Singapore and living in Malaysia.
Soo, you already went on your trip or? And oh, just a quickstop in Indonesia and Malaysia huh... Oh well, thought me and some friends could meet up with you or something Barby
The MadGamingGeek I wish that was the case. They teach you so much crap in GCSE revolving around what instead of why. Also people with a GCSE in geography nowadays can know the structure of the earth, able to lable every characteristic of both cores, the crust and the mantle but they walk out of school still thinking that Tokyo is a country. There's too much that the system forces you to learn yourself, the painful way.
Yeah, it is a bit annoying when my classmates don't know that Algeria is an African nation or other seemingly simple facts that most people should know. I mean, I heard someone say that they thought that Russia bordered the USA...
The MadGamingGeek Oh, but they know the characteristics of the earth's structure and that's more important, right? Who cares if Africa isn't its own country? Regarding the US bordering Russia, it slightly does, in the winter when the sea dividing the islands of western Alaska and eastern Russia freezes over to the point you can walk over it, from one country to another. Fun fact: Alaska used to be a Russian colony, later sold to the US for cheaps for geostrategic purposes. As you can imagine, school never taught me any of this. I learn more at home ironically, hunched over my laptop than I ever did at school. I feel sorry for you, you most probably have to bear the burden of the new catastrophe of a GCSE system they recently implimented. I was among the last few to get away with the previous one.
Sage Sweeney Haven't you seen videos of people visiting there? They keep you in a tour bus and show you a handful of things. It's not dangerous as long as you don't say anything bad about their government or stray too far from the tour guide. Would be an interesting experience. Scary, but interesting.
Yeah! Because, you see, I would really like to talk for instance to Henry (from this video) because I would like to move to Japan as well and he might have some tips for me or whatever but I don't have his contact information or anything :'(
Wow, you really had the "Japan Experience" in such a short time! Onsen, capsule hotel, a temple visit, Shinjuku nightlife, the manga-side of Tokyo, izakaya... I'm amazed you managed to do so much in so liitle time xD
Ahhh Japan looks so amazing. Loved the video! I want to go there in spring, and see the cherry blossoms, especially in Kyoto. Then I can emulate Scarlett Johansson in 'Lost in Translation' hehe
Here: noticiasnippon.jp/sakura-cronograma-de-florecimiento-2/ there is when you can see the cherry blossoms through all Japan this year. If you can't understand Japanese, in Kyoto it says it will be 03/27-03/31 and in Tokyo 03/22-03/25.
It's not that hard to see sakura, but you have to be a bit flexible. If you're determined to go to Kyoto, there may not be blossoms during the dates you're there, but if you don't mind going further north or south according to the peak blossom schedule then there are much more chances of catching them. +Soyneccent I've also been to Japan 3 times, but I went in summer so... it really just depends on when and where you're going, not so much on luck.
Found out about your channel for a while ago, but during the last month I've really been watching your videos and truly trying to learn about the world. Thank you for all the time you've put into these! Cheers, Sweden
Barby! You should do a dedicated trip to Japan, like maybe from Hokkaido down to Tokyo or even to Okinawa, There are things to do in every single one of the 47 prefectures
If he's including Hokkaido and Okinawa (and Kyushu and Shikoku) he'd need much more than three weeks... 3 weeks might be okay if you're doing a speed race viewing only the tourist hotspots of the main island.
+TheRealAthelis You should check www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowForum-g294232-i525-Japan.html and www.japan-guide.com/forum/quedisplay.html if planning a trip to Japan. The typical route is to spend a few days in Tokyo (new) and a few days in Kyoto (traditional, though now very touristy). With extra days it's common to do day trips to other "smaller" cities (Kamakura, Nikko, Hiroshima and Miyajima, Nara, Osaka, etc.).
Check out Odigo, its a community run website covering all of japan or even chris okano's channel, from there on you can choose what interests you the most, cheers! Hope you have a GREAT GREAT time in JP
Wow! How ironic that I was literally just in Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo! It would have been awesome to meet up with you! I am a vlogger too, and I could have taken you around KL
+Andrew John Pruden Yeah! I can't wait because I love Iceland and I would love to go to it but there is only one problem..... It's full of volcanos....But I love Iceland!!! Interesting Fact:I'm from Australia :D
ŽiP WR_104 yes i have always loved Iceland too! I'm Swedish American & have been to all of the other Scandinavian countries except Iceland. I wouldn't worry about the volcanos either lol.
Omg you should stay longer in Japan! It is my favorite country in Asia and it never ceases to amaze me! Go back there and see more places please! I have been to 7 other cities since then
Oh my gosh! Looks like you had an amazing time (all 22 hours) there! I was in Japan for a month last year and had a blast too! All the memories came rolling back seeing you experience the various parts of the city :) I did a bucket list item down in Osaka, Kisi Station where the station master is a cat... Yeah, I'm weird lol. Keep up the great work! Happy Travels!!
Next time you are in Tokyo, check out the Mori Tower located in Roppongi, it's the highest tower I could find with does NOT have glass protection on the observatory deck and the dusk view is just marvellous. Also if you ever decide to visit northern Germany and need a place to stay and a guide in Hamburg, hit me up. We can also cover Bremen since it's close and i've studied there for 4 years.
Many comments below read "Tokyo isn't the largest city in the world", and I was actually thinking the same although I was just gonna let it pass like everyone else did. But I really thought about it, I came to realize "the largest" can contain many different elements: its economy size; the convenience of transportation; being able to get around safely; the types of things you can do; the sizes of buildings; the types of food you can eat; and along with so many other elements, perhaps comes its population. Tokyo isn't my most fav, but I'm pretty sure it satisfies most of the elements above to be "the largest city in the world".
SprightlyPianist it's a reference to the book 60 seconds over Tokyo my grandfather was a bomber pilot flying fire bombing missions over Japan he always said "never was on the ground but loved my 30 seconds over the country!"
In Japan most cameras show flickering light because the frequency they have is different to the rest of the world. One would need to change the recording-fps to fix that.
i honestly didn't know you could do so much stuff in tokyo in 20 hours XD your channel is a recent discovery of mine and so far i think it's awesome :D
I was just watching another Video, when I got the notification that there is a new Video. I wanted to click the "watch later" Button, but it's called Geography NOW. Worth it though :D
Thanks for the video! I love the concept of a capsule hotel room! It seems being a dog and like living in a cage! For clusterphobic people, there’s always sleeping on the ceiling and spending the night looking up at the stars...
will the beds comfortably hold an individual 6-3? I really love your shows man. if you're ever traveling in the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains, hit me and I'll show you around.
Hey Barby, how do you become a geograpeep? lol I would love to host you if you ever come to Taiwan. Taiwan is a beautiful island and you would definitely have a great time visiting us. :)
Might want to recheck that "5 SE Asia countries" as Japan isn't Southeastern and we here in NZ are not Asia. In fact, we just got upgraded to our own continent: Zealandia. Anyway, Tokyo look amazing and I look forward to the NZ Geo Go episode
ive been to japan for a week .... been to nz 3 x and singapore just at the airport havent stepped foot out of the airport of singapore yet havnt been to indonesia or malasyia yet
The whole population of Canada can fit in Tokyo
And the whole population of Sweden can fit in London......
And whole population of China can fit in India
Aww poor Geidré! Her English is excellent, there's no need for subtitles! Suuuuuuuuper envious of you going to Tokyo! are the beds in those capsule hotels comfortable?
Hah, it's also sad that he misspelt her name. It's actually Giedrė, not Geidrė. Oh well :)
yeah confused xD
As a Scotsman fluent in 2 other languages I disagree with this statement wholeheartedly.
+Disko H What a BS, I'm not a native speaker and I can understand Scottish friends perfectly

We actully watch this show in school now for learning a bit about countries. All becouse i told the teacher about it
I wish it was around when I had Geography in Year 7 (UK), but it's relatively as interesting to follow now.
I'm currently in Year 10 doing my Geography GCSE and his videos really help!
The MadGamingGeek I wish that was the case. They teach you so much crap in GCSE revolving around what instead of why. Most people would run away from Godzilla, but not Chris.
I would run away from your profile pic
He would run towards it, yelling "I'm your biggest fan" and Godzilla would actually be the one afraid and would run away saying "gtfo, creep."
+Gilgamesch von Uruk Rude
Nah they would like each other and go for an icecream. And watch the sunset.

You have to visit every country in the world. There's no stopping now.
Good luck with north korea
Sage Sweeney Haven't you seen videos of people visiting there? They keep you in a tour bus and show you a handful of things. It's not dangerous as long as you don't say anything bad about their government or stray too far from the tour guide. Would be an interesting experience. Scary, but interesting.
North Korea has a legitimate tourist industry now, I'm not even kidding.
Believe me there are countries harder to visit than North Korea.
Fadi Antwan like Mecca in Arabia
We should totally create a group on Facebook or something for all the Geograpeeps to get in touch with each other as well !
Lmao I don't see that happening, mate.
Robin Vettier I would be so down for that. I think it'd be really cool.
Yeah! Because, you see, I would really like to talk for instance to Henry (from this video) because I would like to move to Japan as well and he might have some tips for me or whatever but I don't have his contact information or anything :'(
There's already a Patreon Group for $5+ patreons
Sounds like a great idea! Why don't you start it?
Funny that you met with more foreigners than natives lol
Aren't that many Japanese with the English ability to enjoy Geography Now unfortunately.
Kung Pao Chicken Quite ironic given the ridiculous amount of time and money put into teaching English to Japanese children.
yeah that bothered me
Globalization is good my friend you don't wanna be like North Korea do you?
+Petro Jenkins
that's debatable
Wow, you really had the "Japan Experience" in such a short time! Onsen, capsule hotel, a temple visit, Shinjuku nightlife, the manga-side of Tokyo, izakaya... I'm amazed you managed to do so much in so liitle time xD
Chris looks like Rick Harrison from pawn stars.
VikingDuck chris is an old timey weeb
That's who I thought he was at first xD
One thing I learned after 21 years, you never know what is going to come through that door.
Yup XD
Ahhh Japan looks so amazing. Loved the video! I want to go there in spring, and see the cherry blossoms, especially in Kyoto. Then I can emulate Scarlett Johansson in 'Lost in Translation' hehe
areyousatisfied its really hard to get the right time for the cherry blossoms though. If you cant stay for a long time that is
Here: noticiasnippon.jp/sakura-cronograma-de-florecimiento-2/ there is when you can see the cherry blossoms through all Japan this year. If you can't understand Japanese, in Kyoto it says it will be 03/27-03/31 and in Tokyo 03/22-03/25.

I've never heard a Baltic person speaking English, fascinating
siIvermate lol once i met a group of 10 ppl from lithuania speaking english fluently
I know 2 people from Lithuania and they both speak English
I traveled to Tokyo in 2002 and you are giving me such a nostalgia rush.... good times!!
What a pleasant surprise! Glad you enjoyed Japan!
Please come visit the Kansai region sometime!
Only 6 hours of sleep?!! I would have been moody and half conscious.
6 hours had been my standard for a couple of weeks...
so today I slept like 11 hours, haha
Enrique Rodriguez That's my normal amount of sleep lol…high school
sleep? what is that? ~ Every Engineering Student
Definitely Barby looked half conscious when he woke up.
7 or 8 hours of sleep is recommended so 6 isn't that bad
Found out about your channel for a while ago, but during the last month I've really been watching your videos and truly trying to learn about the world. Thank you for all the time you've put into these!

I love your geography go episodes Barby!

Just got back from Japan, and it was my favorite country that I've ever been too. Miss it already.
Loved it! Fascinating!

Will definitely go to Japan someday.
have you
Please correct if I am wrong. Since 1943 Tokyo isn't a city anymore but a prefecture and a synonym for the metrolpolitan region.
It's always a pleasure to follow each ones of your travels. Keep going Paul ; )
Omg you should stay longer in Japan! It is my favorite country in Asia and it never ceases to amaze me! Go back there and see more places please! I have been to 7 other cities since then
4:43 that Godzilla head reminds me of DashieGames from his Japan tour blog.
I've been to Japan twice and Iove it. I wish I could visit more frequently
Damn. You were here in Singapore. HOW DID I NOT KNOW!?
Really looks beautiful, hope I can visit it one-day
Love it! love it! love it!
I went to Japan for 10 days half a year ago, and honestly that trip is the best ive ever been on! I want to go back man
what a beautiful country Japan is would love to visit one day especially to see the cherry blossoms
Enjoy your trip, Barby! Looking forward to your videos!
Tokyo is awesome! I hope to go back one day!
Everytime I watch videos like this I ask myself "What am I doing with my life?"
Looking forward to the Japan episode in maybe another couple of months.
Dang dude I wish I could have caught you while you were in Singapore. Hope you had a wonderful time here!
Oh my gosh! Looks like you had an amazing time (all 22 hours) there! I was in Japan for a month last year and had a blast too! All the memories came rolling back seeing you experience the various parts of the city :)

Best vlogger!
Ah Japan.... My grandfather spent 30 seconds there.
alpha Pennsylvania
Damn. It's pretty hard to spend exactly 30 seconds in a country that has all the borders on the sea.
SprightlyPianist it's a reference to the book 60 seconds over Tokyo my grandfather was a bomber pilot flying fire bombing missions over Japan he always said "never was on the ground but loved my 30 seconds over the country!"
So he loved killing a bunch of people?
He enjoyed the country side and he was never fully responsible for killing the Bombardier was.
1:15 did he make some original Steamed hams for you? :D
haha the cut at 6:44 makes it look like you took a fake sip for the camera on a closed bottle
I still think that those capsule hotels should be a global thing. Cheap and private lodging for a single night.
In Japan most cameras show flickering light because the frequency they have is different to the rest of the world.
One would need to change the recording-fps to fix that.
Also the Tokyo sky tree is a tower, not a building. It's the tallest tower. The 2nd tallest building is the Shanghai tower
Amazing place !
I hope you can come back to Tokyo again! 22 hours is not enough!
How quick was your stop in Indonesia? Because if you want to get a taste of Indonesia, you're probably going to need a few days...
2:30
There is my hometown Kawasaki between Tokyo and Yokohama...
yay they visited my country!
no that's not your country you weeb
@@dajkjk6191 Ok so you're also not american then
Hopefully you get to visit the Philippines next time. would love to be the Geogra-peep to take you around!

A great whirlwind tour. Lots of fun to watch!
Tokyo looks like a fun place to visit
I love Tokyo. Every time I go there I have to try and savior every minute.

Why wasn't your Singapore Airlines plane the usual A380-800 that flies from LAX to Narita? Is the airline using the Boeing 777 again?
Your vids are amazing!! Keep going!!!
Thanks for the video! I love the concept of a capsule hotel room! It seems being a dog and like living in a cage! For clusterphobic people, there’s always sleeping on the ceiling and spending the night looking up at the stars...
I love the music
will the beds comfortably hold an individual 6-3? I really love your shows man. if you're ever traveling in the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains, hit me and I'll show you around.
