    I started back with Project Life again last year (and doing it again this year) and wow I missed memory keeping! Also can I say that I have never related so much to the "I'm taking up space storing pretty paper, not actually the stories", heck yes! thats how I feel about my old albums. so happy to have another PL crafter to follow!

      Yay! So glad this is resonating with another person and that some of us are reconnecting with the project together! Hopefully we can cheerlead for each other this year :D

    Hi Laura, lovely to see you back! I do hybrid Project Life and have managed to fit 4 years in one 12x12 album by doing it monthly and just focusing on the highlights from each month.

      Wow! One album with 4 years, that’s amazing. Do you post on social media?

    there's nothing wrong with adding 6x8 pages (or other sizes) for significant photos or stories. I mix all different sizes and it helps avoid boredom, plus I love an interactive album

      That's true! I used to have fun inserts occasionally, too! That was so long ago though, I'd forgotten haha. :D

    hi! excited you are back! I love PL and still share my spreads every week on YT, but I agree a lot don't do it anymore ❤

    How exciting! Recently, I've loved working in 8.5x11" albums. They're big enough to fit everything, but take up less room than a 12x12". And you're right, memory keeping is so therapeutic by getting to use my hands to preserve my favorite things!

    • @LauraRahel

      Love this! 8.5x11 is such a gorgeous size, its the size I'm holding in this video! For me though, the sizes of the pockets are odd and I find photo editing and printing and cutting out to be a lot easier for the traditional size albums because the photo sizes are even numbers. Do you have an easy, streamlined way of printing the odd sized photos for the smaller album?!

    • @AllThatScrapbook
      @AllThatScrapbook 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ I print my photos from home so I use Canva to resize them on my computer. Not sure it’s the most streamlined way but it’s the most simple for me! And I don’t necessarily do project life so I guess that would get a little tricky trying to find page protectors that fit journaling cards and photos onto on page 😅

    • @LauraRahel
      @LauraRahel  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AllThatScrapbook yeah, I loved that size but for me, sizing the photos and journaling cards down for the pockets was more challenging at that size. In the larger size, photos are whole number sizes like 3x4 or 4x6. I can't remember what the 8.5x11 pocket sizes are but I remember it was weird, not whole numbers, like 2.678x 3.31 🤣. Do you have a Canva template or do you resize every time in the app? If I found a Canva template, that could make the process quicker! Right now using paint is easy enough to resize in the larger, whole number sizes. I don't have Photoshop these days because I pay for Canva and don't want too many overlapping programs with monthly fees

    So happy for you and all the wonderful things happening in your life! I've done project life for over a decade and I also use project life cards sparingly-instead I add label stickers to add smaller captions for the smaller stories and cards for the longer journaling. I also divide my album per month, not week which helps with the space too - good luck and have fun!

      Thank you so much for the well wishes!! Love all of these tips! Agreed, I started using label stickers because I loved how it looked when Kelly Purkey did it. And yes to monthly- I only ever did one year weekly. And when I went through all of my old albums, I reformatted that year and changed that album from weekly to monthly to save space, too. Great tips!

    Hi Laura! I have followed your crafting pages for years and am excited to see your new project life videos! I really like your memory keeping style and regularly go back to your craft room videos for organization tips for my own. Happy 2025!

      Thank you so much! That is so kind of you, I'm glad the videos have been helpful! I'll be losing my craft room this year to turn it into a nursery, so maybe I'll share a video with the process of moving my craft room into a common space in the house and what that looks like!

    I am so stoked you are back!!!!!!! I am going back to PL as well after many unfinished albums! Do you still have your bunny? Congrats on the wedding!

      @LauraRahel  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you so much!! and yessss, the unfinished albums are a burden I have as well haha. Yes, our bunny (Albus Dumbledore) is still going strong- as anti-social and grumpy as ever :D He's now in our bedroom now though instead of the craft room. My hope was that if he spent every night in our room seeing us, he would warm up to us, that never happened lol.

    There are lots of Project Lifers still around! (I use 12x12--only way to fit in all I want to showcase.)

    If you could be bothered.. you could always cut down a 12x12 and turn it into a 9x12!

    • @LauraRahel
      @LauraRahel  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've seen others do that! I don't like the unfinished edge it creates. Maybe there's a way to seal the edge after cutting to make it look more finished?

  • @RamblingsofGeo

    I use lever arch files for my 9x12 pages.

      Interesting! How does having only 2 binder rings instead of 3 hold up for you? I'd be curious to know if that works just as well!

      Wow, I will have to look into this. I'm in Australia and the albums cost a fortune to ship here. However I love 9x12 size the most so I think that you may have found a solution for me, Thank you
