How to replace the wiper motor in a Toyota Corolla, Yaris and more 2009-2013

Wish I came across your video before replacing front struts. The two plastic clips holding the cowling down were destroyed because I did not realize how they come out. Not all is lost. A few weeks later I forgot what the clips looked like. Thanks for the detailed views!

What would happen if the arms weren't oriented straight the way they were when disassembled? You pointed out multiple times to watch for that. Doesn't the motor go on only one way?

Is there any drain holes underneath the plastic? I’m having an electrical issue and I’m trying to figure out if there is any additional drainage underneath the plastic besides on the plastic
I’m guessing my problem is underneath there because when the car sits and it rains the check engine light comes on, so I’m assuming water is somehow getting through there

I would think there would be a built in way to drain water, but I didn't encounter it when making this video. I can't tell from the video clips where it drains but there must be a drain somewhere. I would plug in a scan tool and find out what the code is.

Is the motor faulty if the wiper isnt coming to rest position when it's turned off?

If the motor turns at all it is not faulty. I would think something is mechanically misaligned in the mechanism.

Great video Thank you very much. On my 2010 Corolla just went on mine. I hear the motor but the wipers don’t move. And I can freely move the wipers by hand. So I think it’s the linkage that’s broken
Can you recommend where I can buy it from.

Try to but an OEM part if not too unreasonable in cost. Aftermarket is always a crap shoot for quality. I have found Aisin parts (OEM for Toyota) on Rock Auto and other suppliers.

should you grease the linkage while you are there? what kind grease?

No harm in greasing the linkage I suppose. I would use white lithium for something like this.

I own 2013 toyota corolla, and OEM price is somewhere around $450. Where else I can buy that? or is that normal price?

That is exorbitant. I would check Rock Auto. If they don't have other options, there aren't any.
