  • Yard is a parkour DIY space that promotes community growth and culture created by the London parkour community. David Witchell documented the first year of it's development and how it has evolved to meet the needs of the community.

So sick and inspiring, love this documentary. Makes me want to go build an outdoor spot too, haven't had one in Saskatoon for years #RIPGhettoBackyard

Wow, this was a really great piece. Makes me want to go and build a public space for people to gather and train thats out of the rain in Boston. I bet if we had something like Yard, it would be easier to get HUB ptc kids jumping in the streets.

Really inspiring and insightful video into DIY spots. I'm curious to know more about the difficulties with government and police that come with a project like this. Is this technically state property, private, public? What happens when police inevitably go "what the hell is that"? Obviously, not having city approval places a project like this in a bit of limbo in terms of longevity, which I'm sure is expected. What are the plans for when this space is "discovered"? How long are you hoping to avoid that? Do you take any precautions to avoid unwanted attention? I'm sure other communities would be interested in undertaking this kind of project, so they might find this info useful.
