Does anyone find it funny how Beckett went to a therapist to help deal with the trauma of getting shot but at least 50% of the time she's talking to him about castle?
Getting shot was never the hard part for Kate. Castle's declaration and the knowledge he meant it despite her attempts to push him away were far more difficult for her to handle especially given how she lost her mother. Throughout Seasons 2,3 and 4 we see Castle is changing radically and Beckett is afraid of that change. It means she has to take him and his feelings seriously and that scares her way more than any sniper could. Beckett fundamentally fears that kind of relationship and yet she knows deep down she wants it with Castle but she's scared to commit.
No I don't. The writers wrote it that way.

Stana Katic played Beckett's jealous moments so well, whether it was used for humor or in more serious scenes. From 6:11 - 6:33 was heartbreaking to see, because you can literally see Beckett's struggle to hide what she is feeling while hurting at the mention of Castle pursuing a relationship with someone else. Such a good scene.
Her eye play is simply brilliant.

If you have a look back at all the TV couples (past & present) none of them come close to what Beckett & Castle have - they are just so perfect for each other....
Wrong! hazd there not been a Laura Holt and Remington Steele, there never would've been a Beckett and Castle. Remington Steele set the standard for male/female detective duos that Castle is living splendidly up to. There's also a dash of Moonlighting in the Beckett Castle coupling too.

I also left out one Johnathan and Jennifer Hart. Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers had amazing chemistry and the series should've lasted a lot longer than 5 seasons.

All Beckett had to do when Castle was kissing Serena was to keep on walking to get out of the hotel so she and Espo weren't caught, but noooo.... she sees Castle kissing Serena and flipped out! HaHa! I love it! How can anyone not love jealous Beckett? She gets so irrational and not like herself, all the while keeping her feelings to Castle to herself! HaHa!

I am not sure what she expected.
I think she felt somewhat victory when she could catch him by the way he sounded. She might try to push his button and enjoy how he would react to that, but he gave in. Besides, if he tried to deny it, he might still think about her feeling. Sadly he didn't.

Serena is the best nemesis ever for Beckett....so far, the only time that Beckett was completely defeated by a "person of interest" or suspect, in the interrogation room. Beckett has 2 known weaknesses...1)her obsession over her mother's death 2) jealousy of Pretty females that like Castle
She's been 'defeated' a lot more than just the once. Pretty much everyone who knows their rights and refuses to talk beats her. And any career criminal with a head on their shoulders and knows she has zero evidence and thus has no reason to be afraid of her. Also former cops or soldiers generally stonewall her pretty easily and leave her frustrated. Then there's the guys with diplomatic immunity shom she CAN'T touch.
Basically everyone she can't intimidate or trick.
I cracked up when she got jealous when her old high school best friend asked Castle out.....then had to haul her friend in during the date. 😆
Talking about commitment! Stana! She's so believable as the "secretly" jealous woman! The episode with Laura Prepon? Oh wow! Hilarious! Those three? Nathan, Stana, Laura? Perfect! Laura can be so brooding, steamy yet utterly cool and in control. Makes for perfect tension. Beautiful!

I just realised something. The two great romances of Richard Castle's life BOTH have the initials KB. Kyra Blaine and Kate Beckett. Also, I can't get over the look on Kate's face at 02:50 when Kyra is walking towards her. It's practically screaming her fear that Kyra's going to take him away from her. It's one of the best pieces of acting I've ever seen, Stana Katic manages to say a thousand words with just a look that's incredibly eloquent and makes me miss this amazing show more than ever.
Yeah, she was like waiting for a verdict from the judge.
Actually I admire Stana for her acting in many scenes. Do you remember when Serena took off after solving the case? Beckett expected that Serena and Castle would go out but they didn't and there was a little smile appeared on her face but she kept it humble to avoid being recognized while asking - Why?. Wow that expression was so hard to get on except - Stana did get deep into the character.
I miss this show.

Laura Prepon! She's by far the best (of the female guests). You can feel the electricity between the players when they give themselves totally in those jealousy scenes! (That must have been a buzz! To play like that!) And Stana as insecure and tormented Beckett just not over the edge... struggling... wow! What a performance! She hit every note! Just perfect! Emmy? Suuuurrre! 👍
I don't know, but I prefer to see Beckett jealous and not Castle. Perhaps because we know Castle's feelings about Beckett all the time.

You know, the prevailing perception (at least in fanfic) seems to be that Beckett's reticence and fear were the only things that stood in the way of Caskett happening sooner, but Castle was often trying to deny or submerge his feelings for her, too, in the first three seasons....for example, he held his tongue when she asked him at the end of S3 "Is that what we are? Friends?" And he made missteps, too, even later - like with Serena, for example. During S4, there was supposedly an implied understanding between Castle and Beckett that she would work on getting to a place where she could have a relationship with him, and he would wait for her. But even before he discovered she was lying about remembering his "I love you", and while still loving her, he expressed an obvious interest in Serena. I think he may have done so because he was uncertain whether he and Beckett would ever come to be, or possibly to try and spur her to admitting an interest, but still....my point is that they were like two ships passing in the night throughout those first four seasons, and it wasn't always Kate's fault that they missed one another. So fun to see the jealousy, though. It highlights the spark between them on her part, very well, while she tried to deny it.

He was somewhat pushed into pursuing Serena in part by Kate herself as well as his mother. I also think he was held back by the fact he was secretly steering Kate away from her Mother's death because he knew how angry she would be if she found out. Finally I believe Rick was still scared of his own feelings for Kate. Only Kyra Blaine had previously captured his heart to that degree and he was scared of being hurt that badly again in my opinion.
