    Great video! Hello from GREENVILLE Texas. I am an Oggy (I follow Dave Casler as well). I used his instruction to help prepare me for my Tech/General license. I tested in January at Cowtown HamFest. Cheers. 73!

    Steve, your video is an excellent summary of techniques for the main use cases your users are working on. I did not notice the resemblance between you and Dave Casler until you mentioned it, but it is quite remarkable. 73 de K6DHP

    Thank you for making this video. It was very helpful. I am trying to set up a Kenwood TS940S. I will be starting with using the IF output #2. If this does not work, I will get the MFJ antenna switch.

    Thanks Steve, really informative video, great. I've just fitted a hupf PA board into my Yaesu FT857D feeding my SDRPlay 1a using SDRUno. I've set up the IF to that for the rig, which is 68.33 MHz. However, the signal I'm hearing on rig and SDR are always displaced by a few KHz. Any ideas on the cause and a fix? Many thanks!

    I have the Yaesu DX-3000 that has the capability of connecting the SDR-Play. Also I would like to connect the MFJ-1708B for double protection. Question: Is that feasible, and if so, what connections would I have to alter/make to my transceiver and SDR Play? Thanks! Regards, BobbyC

      david millward there will always be some feedthrough, as long as the level is below 0dm (which it should be in your configuration) there is no problem. You should also see the yellow “RF MUTE” indication in the RX Control panel, and audio will be muted.

    Superb video, I've ordered and RSP-1a on the back of it. Looking forward to using it with my Yaesu FTDX101MP and as I run everything with HRD that was a nice bonus bit added in your video. I am now wondering whether I can use the virtual com port to also hook in N1MM logger alongside HRD for contesting, do you know if I would need the Pro version of the virt com port software to achieve this?

    • @SDRplayHamGuides
      @SDRplayHamGuides 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I suggest using VSPE, this will create the pair. You also need to create a spiltter within VSPE "splitting" the virtual com port and assigning it over to N1MM

    My Kenwood 590S has the DRV jack on the back...can the 590S be set up the same way as the SG ?

    • @SDRplayRSP
      @SDRplayRSP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, on the 590S the DRV jack cannot be configured as an RX output. Use an external T/R switch instead, E.g. MFJ-1708B-SDR

      On Yaesu's you need the TX GND signal. You should find it on the TUN/LIN connector.

    • @SDRplayHamGuides
      @SDRplayHamGuides 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you need to IF tap the radio and have SDRuno sit on the IF output frequency. Since the RSP is sitting on the IF you would just spin the VFO of the radio .

    Hallo, I'm using SDRplay2 with YAESU FT 2000. The connection between the 2 device is with a buffer after IF of RTX. I use Omnirig and VSPE. This is the problem: the frequency of the rtx and the program sdr are different . The difference is about 5,6 Khz up for SDR. I tried to do a calibration but nothing changed. What can I do ? Thanks IW!DAL

    • @elansteve
      @elansteve ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you using the IF shift feature of the FT-2000? The frequency displayed by SDRuno will match the rig frequency reported via Omnirig, however I thought the maximum offset from the rig was only about 1kHz. Do you see the same offset if you use another mode like AM, not SSB? There's really no way around this unless we add the capability to program an offset into SDRuno and then you'd have to manually change it every time you change the offset on the rig. This is one reason why we prefer using a full spectrum input to the SDR via an external T/R switch. This will also allow you to monitor other bands simultaneously regardless of which band the FT-2000 is using.

      @@elansteve Yes I'm using IF shift of FT 2000 and a buffer to have the signal out from my Yaesu to SDRplay2 (IF 69450000 Hz)
