Hey America you should do a financial video on medical school while also touching on the subject of debt! So basically living, food, tuition, books, extra money to spend...and how you don't overspend money.
Hi America, I’m a mom of an MS1. My daughter just started med school at the beginning of August. I’ve subscribed to you because I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and have told my daughter about them. I think you’re an amazing young woman with all the normal fears and doubts of being a human being. But despite those fears and doubts, you’re still powering through the everyday hardships of med school. Keep being a great role model, an encouragement and inspiration to those around you. We (your subscribers) are cheering you on this journey you were meant to take, and we’ll share in your joy when you finish. 💕🤗
Thank you so much america Your words have reached my heart ❤ and you don't know how your words make me so determined to get to my dream (dentist) in June I will have my final exam and I'm preparing so hard for it just to be able to reach my goal wish me luck ❤ thnks again all love from Algeria 😘
The questions were well answered! Yeah, unfortunately, the reality is that the father is not always going to be there, but you just have to be extra excited and motivated for the baby and the mother to give the mother that extra boost of strength. Awesome video! Love your smile!
I would LOVE the MCAT prep book!! I am just starting my undergrad in college as a 26 yr old mother! Scary, right?! I plan to major in Microbiology and achieve either becoming a Physician of Infectious Disease or a Medical Examiner! As it's been awhile since I've been in school (8 years to be exact), I really believe that MCAT guide would definitely help me familiarize myself for the BIG TEST! BTW, thank you for putting yourself out there and showing others that you don't have to be perfect to achieve your goals. I know it's hard to come back from disappointment, especially when you've worked hard at it. Through it all, you come back with grace and a positive attitude and prove that you're indeed human. I see SO MANY med students on TH-cam that had perfect grades from the get-go and seem to never falter. It makes one feel inferior and invites doubts. Since watching you, those doubts have faded. You truly are an inspiration to me and so many others.
I almost died laughing when you announced your giveaway prizes. Not because of anything bad, but because it's so nice to see someone who truly cares about others reaching their goals and whatnot. I know the giveaway is closed, but thanks for making my day. :)
Hi America! I'm a senior (just finished my junior year) majoring in biochemistry here in the US. For the past three years, I have been striving to have a high GPA and have just started studying for my MCAT that I'm taking next May, which hasn't been easy overall since English isn't my native language. I think the MCAT book would serve as an enormous help for me. Thank you!
Hi there! I know this is an old video but I just wanna make a quick note as to how med school is in my country, Portugal, where we go straight from high school to med school. Our course has 6 years, not 3/4 like yours! So your med school is, for us, the clinical years, which is the 4th, 5th and 6th year. On the first 3 years, we have something similar to your undergrad, with more theory, biochem, anatomy, phisiology, biology, etc, and then on our clinical years we start rotations, like you guys do. I think what we end up learning is very similar, only you guys have the added concern of the MCAT and getting into med school per se and we're already in it. Just thought I should add this little note!
going from high school directly to med school, for me at least, was hard for the first couple of months then I kinda got used to it !! the most difficult thing was the Language everything is in English and high school was in Arabic, so it wasn't that easy to learn, but as I said I got used to it. Thank you for sharing your life with us. you always show us your true self which gives me support when things go wrong and I become about to lose hope. Thank you again and let's be surgeons together ^^
I love your videos and always look forward to you posting them. I am a rising sophomore in college as a Biology Pre-Med major. I will be taking the MCAT my junior year and am trying to find any way possible to study for it. I currently have been doing the MCAT question of the day and things like that in my free time, but know I need to start studying for real. I would absolutely love the chance to receive the MCAT study guide book, it would lift a weight off of my shoulders. Getting into Medical school is a huge dream of mine and I am working so hard to get there. You have inspired me in so many ways. Thank you so much for the opportunity and can not wait to see more of your videos!
Audrey Natalia I'm not sure what country you're in but here in the UK none of the books above are applicable to what is studied here. Even the first aid USMLE.
Hi America! I'm starting my first year of medical school in August and would be so grateful to get the Step 1 book. Finances have been stressing me out lately, and being able to get this book for free would be one less thing I need to worry about! By the way, I love your videos - I watch them religiously. You make me so excited to start in the fall, and have shown me that med students can still have fun :)
In Italy med school starts right after high school but it lasts 6 years instead of 4 and the first 2 years are strictly related to basic sciences (we attend inorganic and organic chemistry, biology, genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology, physics, histology) then , during the second half of the second year, we start studying more medical related subjects such as anatomy, physiology, immunology, microbiology, pathology. at the end of the third year we usually have completed all the pre clinical subjects and after that we start the second block of three year in which we attend clinical classes associated with the corresponding rotation (4th, 5th and 6th year can be compared to your 3rd and 4th one even if they have a slightly different organisation as we still attend a lot of mandatory lessons while we have to spend fewer hours in the hospital). Btw, glad you finished your 1st year!! Keep going 💪💪
When you were talking about how amazing medical school is it warmed my heart so much! Going to medical school has been my dream as long as I can remember and the MCAT book would be such an amazing resource to help me achieve my dreams! Love you America!!
i was 18 when i got into my first year of med school. just finished my third year and beginning my fourth this September. CONGRAATS america for finishing your first year, i'm happy for you!
Hi! I am taking my MCAT in a little over 6 months and while I have been devising a study schedule, I haven't taken the plunge to get any books to help. I would love the MCAT secrets, it would help soooo much. Also, just a side note, your videos have helped me realize that I want to be a doctor. After years of feeling discouraged and worried I wasn't good enough, you have managed to subside my fears and I know I'll get into medical school and I can't thank you enough for that.
Hi America! :) I LOVE getting notifications about your new videos. They are truly inspirational and encourage me through the rough times of college and life. I would like to get the MCAT book because I literally do not know what to study for that exam. It is something I am considering to take in my future and a book of the MCAT would be a great start and resource for achieving satisfactory results. Thank you for all that you do. God Bless you :)
I would love the Step 1 book! I'm about to start medical school and heard it's a great study guide even during 1st year, not just 2nd! Congrats on finishing MS1 and thanks for all of your tips!
I really want the SAT book :) !! I am a sophomore in HS and I took my PSAT this year and did horrible (1040) I promise I am a really good student but i suck at standardized tests. Truly, I plan on studying this summer really hard for it using that book along with Khan Academy so I could raise my score and not have to worry about it during the school year while I take my 5 APs (not trying to show off, just trying to show that I am a hard working student and will make use of this book if given the chance).
To be honest, .... that score is not bad AT ALL!!!! That's a great score!!! getting that on your SAT as a junior would be pretty bad but since that's the PSAT and your only a sophomore, you doing really good. As long as you continue to study and take it seriously... based on that score.....you will do super super amazing when you take the real thing!
"I suck at physics, I suck at math. I am only good at science" haha. I understand what you tried to get across but it sounds funny, Physics is O.G. of science. With that said. you are really fun to watch
Here in Brazil, we go from high school directly to medschool, but it's a six-year course instead of four. The two inicial years are pre-clinical: biochemestry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology and stuff. The two following are clinical years: classes + wards. The latter are internship (it´s different from the US model, we´re not doctors yet), where we spend a little time on each main speacility in Med :)
I would like the MCAT prep book because I will be starting to study for the exam relatively soon, and have one of many resources available would be very helpful to me. I loved seeing how passionate you are about what you do and I hope to embody that same passion too if/when I finally get my white coat in the future!
Hi America! So glad I found your videos, I have watched pretty much all of them and I love how real you are about sharing your journey. I'm currently studying for my MCAT in August and I'm super stressed about the whole ordeal. Hopefully a great study book could help me with my study plan!
omg thanks so much for answering my question!! i look up to you and i think you are so smart. i would love to get the sat book so i can study over the summer because i take my sat next year. My psat score was not so great so i will definitely be studying soon and it would be awesome to get that book. Thanks again for answering my question. Congrats on finishing your first year in med school
Hi America, I love your videos and have been watching them since you began medical school this year! I would love the MCAT prep book because I am just beginning to study for the MCAT, as I will be taking the exam in May of 2018! I am a first generation college student and hope to also become a first generation medical school graduate so this material would really help me accomplish my dreams!
I would like the MCAT book. I'm going to be a first year in college this fall and I'm super excited to finally start my own journey to medical school. I've wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember. Senior year of high school I did WEEKS of research to see if this is truly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life (which is how I came across your channel). Long story short, I'm a premed major with a minor in Missions & evangelism with the dream of not only healing people physically but spiritually as well. So a free MCAT study book would be a huge blessing!
America! You are such an inspiration to me! I would love the MCAT Prep Book because I'm planning on studying for the MCAT next year and hopefully going to apply to medical school!
Congratulations finishing year one! I am pre med and think the MCAT book would be most helpful for me. So glad you picked prizes at different levels so many people could benefit. Thank you! And keep doing what you do.
I just want to tell you that you're such an inspiration to me and I absolutely love your videos! My dream is to study medicine :)May Jesus bless you more and more! Sending love from England xxx
Thanks for replying! I must have missed that video while studying myself. It was fabulous :) Do you have a video where you write out actual notes? Like do you make notes incorporating lecture notes but also textbook info and drawings and such?
Hey America!! Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I'd love the USMLE book as I'm starting med school in Florida on July 31st!! I'd love to get ahead of the game with studying for my steps. So glad I found your channel, thanks for the advice!
Yasss I'm also from Houston! I'm in college and the MCAT is nigh 🙄i absolutely need to study for it! I also have considered obgyn as a specialty but you brought up an interesting point. I'm a mother and in no means think my family is perfect or ideal but I can totally understand when you mean that babies are born into families that aren't the typical married happy couple. I think it would also stress me out seeing that. Congrats on finishing up your first year!
Out of all the channels that cover a similar topic you are a ray of sunshine of positivity an endless smiles. Let me have that MCAT secrets book, because studying for the MCAT is just overwhelmingly difficult and annoying! Hahaha You're great!
Love this video and your channel! I would love the MCAT book because I am entering my junior year of premed and that would be super helpful in preparing me for the MCAT! Thanks!
Id love the USMLE First Aid! Im an OMS1 and I struggle with standardized tests! I had to take the MCAT twice. So, it'll be a big help to start studying early! Thank you so much!
Love your videos!!! I would want the First Aid because I'll be starting MS1 soon and it would be such a big help. I had a set back in undergrad and it put me in undergrad longer than necessary, now i'm finally getting closer to reaching my dreams and this book can help with that. Your videos helped me so much this past semester. Feel like I'm on this journey with you haha. Wishing you luck and success with your education!
hi you said something about going straight out of high school to med school. in Sweden you do that. highschool in Sweden is three years long ( grade 10-12) the degree you get in highschool in Sweden is counted as your undergraduate degree. which means that you can choose what major you want to study in highschool ( almost like college) med school in sweden is 5,5 years long and nursing school is 3 years. all university or college degree you study is always ( most of the time ) a bachelor degree.
America, I just wanted to say that you're the sweetest person, and to thank you for dedicating a bit of your time to share this tips and thoughts about medschool! You certainly are a positive inspiration, even to people living in countries where medschool is completely different from US's (such as myself). I hope you keep this TH-cam hobby, so we can walk this path of Medicine together! We'll always be here to watch (I know I'll be) :D hugs from Brazil 💓
I would love The Official SAT Study Guide. I'm entering my sophomore year in high school next fall and am eager to begin studying for my SAT early. I know it's early but I'm torn between what to study during college. I love biology and surgery is something I really want to study but I also have an insane interest and love for physics, especially quantum physics and all it's absurd theories. All in all I hope I can get this book. -Thank You
i would like the official sat guide because i am going to be a junior in high school and i would love to do exceptionally well. i, in fact, would like to some day practice medicine as well. currently, i would like to be a pediatric cardio thoracic surgeon, however i know that may change, as you spoke about ur journey from ob gyn to now looking to surgery. i hope you get to see this and reward me with the review book! i love your videos by the way and good luck with the rest of your medical studies
Hi America, I've been a subie for awhile now, and would love the MCAT Prep Book because I'll be a sophomore in college and would use it to help me study over the summer! I absolutely love your channel, and who you are as a person. You're so genuine and down-to-Earth... can't wait for more vids girl! Thank you!!!
AMERICA! First off I just wanted to say how much I love your personality and I love your videos. I look forward to them every week. I would love to have the MCAT book! I am a sophomore in a TEXAS college, and I have been dreaming of going to Houston for Medical School! I work very hard for my school expenses so a break from buying the needed MCAT source would be EXACTLY what I need right now!
Hey America!! I'm a highschool student who is dual enrolled in college right now! So when I graduate highschool I will be done with my AA Degree! I'm going to be a senior this year. I would love the mcat book because I would want to read from it lol but since I'm two years away from med school, they could change the test or something so you should give it to someone who needs it now haha! Love you and your channel!!!!
I would want the MCAT prep book because I need it in the future and I am scared of the exam and I am starting as a sophomore in college this fall. I always wanted to become a doctor and you have helped me so much with this. I have learned sooo much from you. I am a community college student thinking about transferring to UT. I was wondering how the Pre-med Program was like as UT
Hello America! I'd like the MCAT prep book because I will be an incoming undergraduate student this fall and have dreamed of becoming a doctor since I was a child. The next major step in that journey is taking the MCAT, so that prep book would really help! love your videos, and keep up the good work😊💞
I would love the MCAT Book to help me study for the MCAT in the next few years!! I love your channel and how real you keep it! I know this sounds bad but when you get stressed or don't get the grade you want it makes me realize that you are human and I can do this too! Thanks for all you do! Love you and your channel!
Hi America, I want the MCAT book because I want to apply to medical school and just like you, I was allured by the pros that come with being a PA. So I became a PA at stony brook university and I feel so unsatisfied... I want to study for the MCAT but I have so much debt from mistakenly going the PA route that I have such limited resources. The biggest thing that broke my heart when I assisted in my first surgery was that I cut an artery and an attending told me I performed "Almost as good as a doctor". At that very moment I realized I want to be the one making the bigger decisions on patient care and what not. I love your channel and would appreciate the mcat book SO much. Love you -Faiza
Dear Faiza Chaudry, I've chosen you to receive the MCAT book :) I, too, was once headed the PA route and almost blew my chance for medical school thinking it was for me. Hopefully this book will get you to where you need to be :) I've tried to message you on TH-cam but can't find out how so if you can message me on TH-cam or Instagram, we can start sending your package!
Hey, I am very curious to see why you regret going to PA school. I am still in the process of deciding whether medical or PA school is for me and I wanted to know what you don't like about being a PA. Best wishes to you on studying for the MCAT and medical school! :)
Just finished my first year of medical school. It's great to hear about what MS1 is like at another school. I would like the first aid book to help me study for step 1.
Hi Amerrica! I'm applying to medical school this summer and your videos really helped me get through the grueling process of MCAT studying. Thank you for sharing your story and positivity. I'd love to be entered into the USMLE Step 1 book.
MCAT Prep book, because I switched from pre-nursing to pre-med this year, (junior year lol) and would love to get a head start or foundation for preparing/studying for the MCAT!
Hey! I would love to have the SAT study guide book because I will be taking my SATs soon and I'm super stressed so I would love to have it. Also, it would be really cool to have a book from you!
Congrats, America, on finishing 1st year of med school! :-) Ah, how i miss those pre-clinical years at the classroom. I was also like you (volunteering etc for women's health thinking I'm going to be OB/GYN) and now that i finished med school i realized i actually enjoy surgery more and thinking about getting into Oncology Surgery (in my country oncology surgeon takes care of mostly breast cancer). So this is very much like OB/GYN, too, where the patients are predominantly females.
Hey, at the beginning you said that you think it's strange that in other countries you go directly from highschool to med school. I'm an Austrian med student and it's the same way here. But the first two years consist almost exclusively of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, etc. After the two years the preclinical studies begin, where you learn about diseases and stuff. :D The last two years is mainly rotations in different hospitals, during which time you write your thesis. So it's actually not that different. :) But I totally agree with you on the part with the patient interaction. It can be both incredibly amazing and exhausting.
I'd love the MCAT book because I need all the help I can get with my MCAT score because I don't have a strong GPA. I was stupid and probably a little ADD, but I'm changing that and a strong MCAT score will help me get in. Thanks for being so inspiring, America!
I would love the MCAT book because I just started studying for the MCAT and am super nervous about taking it. I really need all the help I can get and I feel like the book would be a great tool!
I could really use the SAT book as I'm taking it for the first time in August before school starts so I'm definitely on my own in terms of studying. I got an 1160 on the PSAT but to get into the school I want to go to I need to have at least a 1300. As you can see I have quite a gap to fill which is why I could really use the book. I'm really hoping to get the score on my first try because the test is expensive and I'm taking 4 dual credit classes and participating in my school's clinical rotation program so it would be really hard to study during the school year.
Hi America, I am an entering 3rd year undergrad student and Ive been all over youtube for everything and anything on the MCAT because I want to be extra prepared for when I do take the exam. I would be lucky to get the MCAT Prep Book because I believe that I would really benefit from this reading and practice. I dont know anyone who wants to go to medical school so youtube is what I use to rely on so that you for all your videos, they are great.
In the countries where you go to med school right after high school, the high school students learn most of the stuff that we learn in undergraduate, in high school. Also, med schools in those countries are 6-7 years so they cover the undergrad stuff also in med school. I know from experience because I am from Poland. And even though I could've stayed in Poland and go to med school over there, I though that the US universities and the whole process will benefit me and I will learn a lot more and experience a lot more than I would've in Poland. Most of the med students aren't sure if they want to pursue medicine when they go right after high school and that's why we have many grumpy doctors who don't like their jobs in Poland. I also wanted to study in English because It's a universal language and you can work anywhere in the world with English! Great video btw! You always make me so motivated America!
Even though I'm considered international and I won't be eligible to enter your awesome contest, I will always Like your videos, I've already subscribed to your channel and I've followed you on Instagram and Snapchat!! Thank you for your genuine video America and Have an AMAZING Summer!! -Lots of love from Canada!
Hi America! I love this video, and I find it really helpful and inspiring! My ambition is to become a pediatric physician, and like you said there are many people who have pulled me down and told me that medical school wasn't for me, but I didn't listen to them. I keep my head held high, and keep pushing through it everyday! I would like the MCAT Prep book, because I am taking the MCAT this year and would like to score well on it. I feel that this book will help in my MCAT preparation and score, as I can't afford to put a lot of money on MCAT books.
Hey America!! I absolutely love your channel! I am an incoming MS1 and would love to win the Step 1 book so start board prep (because it's never too early right 😂) thanks for being so amazing
Hey America! I am starting medical school this coming Fall! I've loved watching your videos because it's like a glimpse into my future. I already want to implement how you take your notes before lecture with the different colored pen as opposed to in lecture! Such a good idea! I would love to win the step book! Love your videos America! Xoxo
Hi America! My name is Clayton Bush and I am a high school student in Florida! I would want the SAT practice book because I am going to be taking the SAT this coming school year and would like to be prepared! I love you and your channel so much because I get to look forward to your videos and my future as a med student and a doctor! Even if I don't win I just wanted you to know that you are one of my favorite TH-camrs, mostly because what you do really interests me, and because you seem so kind and real! You share exactly how you feel with us about your life and med school, which allows us to see that life isn't perfect and that you can persevere through anything! Anyways, thank you for giving us the opportunity to get study materials for free and for being an amazing human being!
Hi America! I'm Olivia from NYC! I'm a rising senior in college on the pre-med track and I plan on taking a gap year. I will likely be taking the MCAT in the beginning of next year. I go to a school that doesn't have too great of a science department (in my opinion), so I do feel like I may not be on the same level as other students taking the exam. Regardless, I will study my hardest and try my best, as this is my future career on the line and I am determined to become a physician one day! Like you, I can't see myself in any other career. I plan to study for the MCAT on my own (not taking a class because unfortunately, I can't afford it), so I would love to get all the resources I can for this exam! I am going into this wanting to become an OB/GYN, but I will for sure keep my options open. :) You are very kind for doing this giveaway that caters to different students! I remember subscribing to you around 2K subscribers a couple months ago! Congrats on finishing your first year of med school! and nearly 10K subscribers woohoo!! Btw, I am following you on snapchat (olibius) and Instagram (olivegardin). Good luck to everyone!! :)
I'm a med student in Colombia, and i entered first year when i was 17 years old, now im ending my second year of med school, the thing is that here the whole career of "Medicine" without your residency is 7 years, so in the in the first 2 years is the same that in med schools in US, but we don't have pharm classes until our medical rotations, so in 3 year we learn that. I know what you mean about taking that big step from HS to Med school, but i don´t think there is a gap actually, i mean, of course it was hard at the beginning but you get the hang of it as everything in life, however the problem i guess you are referring to is that a lot of people fail during their first 2 years and mostly half of the classmates you entered with end up dropping out because they weren't sure if they wanted this because they entered too young, so is a shame loosing that money (here med school is REALLY EXPENSIVE, but not as much as in US haha). In the other hand entering med school is REALLY HARD same requirements, well.. almost, perfect HS grades, a great score in your ICFES (a standardized test that all high-schoolers need to take for entering college) and of course the interview and other specifications depending on the college you want to apply to, some of them have exams for entering the school etc... Actually if we want to take the STEP 1 for doing our residency in the US, which is an option almost every medicine faculty in my country have, we need to take it in our 4th year.
Hey since ur usually ok w showing your grades, do you mind making a video showing your high school transcript. I would really want to compare my grades and courses to a current MS student. Thanks :)
America you never fail on being so amazing to us all! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to win the MCAT Prep Book! As a second year pre-med student I am already beginning to review for the MCAT. It has been so so stressful because the best study tools out there cost so much money and I am unable to afford them at the moment. I've been applying to jobs recently so I can afford to pay for school and books, but no one seems to get back to me. Going to medical school has always been a dream of mine, and with this book as a study tool, I truly believe that I can make it possible. I have never been good at test taking because I get really anxious, so the MCAT Secrets would definitely be useful. I am so thankful for your generosity and thank you for being an inspiration to us all. You make me push harder everyday towards my dreams. Lots of love xxx Natalie ❤️
Going straight from High School to Medical school, at least here in Germany means, that you start with two years of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy and so on. Med school takes 5-7 years in total, you basically do your the equivalent of a pre med degree for the first two years of med school here. The main difference is that the selection takes places straight after High School, you have no pre med degree to speak for you, basically your high school final exams control whether you get into med school.
Rooting you on Girl!! You're doing great!! I would like to know how your schedule was during MS1 like hours, time of class... things like that. Maybe do a video about it :)
Hey America! FIRST OF ALL I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. I would love to have the MCAT book.I am a first year pre med student who would love to use that as a tool for medical school. I think surgery is amazing too and that's what I really want to do! I am also thinking about neonatology. I hope all goes well for the rest of MS and I can't wait to see the journey on your channel!
Hi America, currently doing my undergrad and the MCAT prep book would be the perfect way to start my MCAT studying which will eventually get me into med school!!
First of all, thank you for being so generous and considerate of your followers to purchase these books. I would love the MCAT prep book. have finally realized that I want to go to medical school, but money is kind of tight right now. Winning this contest would be a huge help to me.
Hi America! I just have to say your videos are super helpful. I really appreciate all the extra giveaways too. If I could get a copy of the USMLE that would help me in my future studies in medical school. Thank you os much for all your tips and beauty advice too! You're the best!
Hey America! Love, love, love your channel! I would really love the Step 1 book - matriculating to med school next year. I'm a big fan of yours so please keep posting your really great videos! 💗
Hi. I just recently discovered your videos. I love them. I wanted to ask a question. If you had to spend 10 hours during your 1st year 1st semester. How were you able to fit in studying everyday? Thank you😁😀
MCAT book please!! Because I need to do bomb on it!! I am a little scared but thank you for all your videos. You truly do give everyone hope that it's possible. You have such a genuine and loving spirit and it's awesome!! Keep it up :)
Hi America! :) You're super awesome for doing this giveaway-- I'm entering for the USMLE Step 1 book, which will serve as an awesome resource as I navigate through my first year of medical school! Med school begins for me in July and I'm super excited; becoming a physician has always been a dream of mine and I'm honored to take this next step
hi i'm a second year medical student in morocco and we go into medical school straight after highschool , in the two first years we learn the basics you guys in the US learn in 4 years of college , we learn microbio , anatomy , biology , biophysics , physiologie ... all the basics , and then in 3 rd year we start learning about pathologie pharmacologie and the stuff you guys learn in first year of med school , its different but we learn everything you guys learn , our medical school is 5 years of classes and clinicals and then 2 years just clinicals which in those two years u pass an exam to become an interne if you succeed if not u continue as an externe and get your diploma in general medecine , so its like 7 years long to be a General practitioner !! also to get into med school in my country you need to pass an admission test which is pretty hard , and they pick 300 students from 1800 people !!
Hi America! The MCAT prep book would be really amazing to receive. I'm a college student majoring in Biology with two concentrations in Chemistry and Medical Science, as well as minoring in Psychology. The MCAT prep book would be another helpful resource that could help me get a great score on the MCAT.
In my country we go directly to medical school, but it's a 6 year program with the first 2 years being the premed part. It has anatomy, biochem and physiology and other stuff. I guess its similar to the undergrad program that you have in your country.
America! I love your videos and hope to one day be in your shoes. Your videos are so incredibly inspiring. I'm excited to follow your journey through Third year and to have your take on clerkship. Keep doing what your doing!! You are awesome!!
I would love to get the SAT book because I'm taking it in December and could use all the review I can get! I love your channel and I'm so glad that I came across it😃
I really want the MCAT Secrets book 😬 I'm getting ready to go to college and I know that most of my time in the next 4 years will have to be dedicated to studying for the MCAT and I feel like that book would be such a big help! I'm super nervous about having to take it, and maybe that'll give me guidance and tips so I won't be as stressed over it 😸 p.s. I love your videos! ☺️
I want/need the MCAT book because I am starting university this fall and I want to have an early start on preparing for the MCAT exam but the books are really expensive. Thank America! 😘
I would love to receive the MCAT book because I am a second year pre med student, and will be taking the MCAT in the next two years. My pre med advisor has told me I should start studying for the MCAT now, and I am very nervous. Love you❤️
SAT book!! I hate the SAT. I just took it for the third time. It'd be great to have the book and study during the summer. I suck at testing but I do great in school. My goal SAT score is a 1310, hopefully I'll be able to reach it!!
Hey America you should do a financial video on medical school while also touching on the subject of debt! So basically living, food, tuition, books, extra money to spend...and how you don't overspend money.
I second this!
Michaela Kasongo omg please share this with her please do this America
Yes !!!
Yes, please do!
Live like a resident until after few years you finished residency :-)
Hi America, I’m a mom of an MS1. My daughter just started med school at the beginning of August. I’ve subscribed to you because I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and have told my daughter about them. I think you’re an amazing young woman with all the normal fears and doubts of being a human being. But despite those fears and doubts, you’re still powering through the everyday hardships of med school. Keep being a great role model, an encouragement and inspiration to those around you. We (your subscribers) are cheering you on this journey you were meant to take, and we’ll share in your joy when you finish. 💕🤗
contest closed :) Thanks for all that entered! Winners will be chosen soon :')
Thank you so much america Your words have reached my heart ❤ and you don't know how your words make me so determined to get to my dream (dentist)
in June I will have my final exam and I'm preparing so hard for it just to be able to reach my goal wish me luck ❤ thnks again all love from Algeria 😘
What are your social media accounts ??
The moment you realise it's not international and start feeling sad but then check the prizes and understand why XD
I'm pretty sure there are tons of International Med Graduate out there who would love to get that FA 2017, IMO :-)
Audrey Natalia I'm not sure what country you're in but here in the UK none of the books above are applicable to what is studied here. Even the first aid USMLE.
Wow america ! look where youre at now isn't life so wonderful? Its amazing to see how far youve come and how much you persevered!
NaguibSTAR good luck !
NaguibSTAR atta boy!
Thanks everyone :)) appreciate it!
Update: I did not get into all 5 APs because it did not fit in my schedule :( but I am still taking 4..
in my country we go from high school directly to med school but we don't study 4 years in med school but we study 7 years so there is no gap 💕👍
yasmine enimsay Same here in Mexico!! I'm in 6th semester of high school and imma jump directly to med school !! Here it lasts 6years.
Adele López good luck darling ❤ 💕💕
A.D Suri In Brazil it's the same thing! it's a struggle to get in medschool and another struggle to graduate D:
same here in Iran
It's the same here in the UK
"I suck at physics, I suck at math. I am only good at science" haha. I understand what you tried to get across but it sounds funny, Physics is O.G. of science. With that said. you are really fun to watch
biology is also a science but its way way different from physics so i get her point
Gasai Yuno True story. I am a biology and premed major and I can’t make myself love physics. It’s just the worst.
I'm starting med school in 3 months in another continent (big move coming up >.
I like how she’s holding an SAT book in rather thumbnail
I am so glad I stumbled onto your channel! I love how open you are about your journey through the medical school.
Decided to go back to your old videos (this one), and just want to say it again - SO INSPIRING!!!!! Thank you for that!
Hey! I would love the offical sat study guide! I will be a junior and be taking the sat soon and it the book will be very helpful!
Will you do a video on how you pre-read/take notes before going to lectures? And how that works when you're also taking notes in class and post class?
I kinda have a video like that, its called "How I Study" :) Let me know if it's what you wanted
Thanks for replying! I must have missed that video while studying myself. It was fabulous :) Do you have a video where you write out actual notes? Like do you make notes incorporating lecture notes but also textbook info and drawings and such?
Why did you delete your other videos😭😭😭😭😭
Hahaha
You're great!
Hey America, I really want the MCAT Prep Book. Im taking the test next summer and want to start the prep early.
hi you said something about going straight out of high school to med school. in Sweden you do that. highschool in Sweden is three years long ( grade 10-12) the degree you get in highschool in Sweden is counted as your undergraduate degree. which means that you can choose what major you want to study in highschool ( almost like college) med school in sweden is 5,5 years long and nursing school is 3 years. all university or college degree you study is always ( most of the time ) a bachelor degree.
-Thank You
Hello America! I would like and be forever grateful for option 2! I messaged you separately on why :)
i would like the official sat guide because i am going to be a junior in high school and i would love to do exceptionally well. i, in fact, would like to some day practice medicine as well. currently, i would like to be a pediatric cardio thoracic surgeon, however i know that may change, as you spoke about ur journey from ob gyn to now looking to surgery. i hope you get to see this and reward me with the review book! i love your videos by the way and good luck with the rest of your medical studies
Love you
-Faiza
Dear Faiza Chaudry, I've chosen you to receive the MCAT book :) I, too, was once headed the PA route and almost blew my chance for medical school thinking it was for me. Hopefully this book will get you to where you need to be :) I've tried to message you on TH-cam but can't find out how so if you can message me on TH-cam or Instagram, we can start sending your package!
HI I read this and Im going to DIRECT MSG u on Instagram, my insta is faizamariamxs
Goodluck! what was your experience as a PA?
Hey, I am very curious to see why you regret going to PA school. I am still in the process of deciding whether medical or PA school is for me and I wanted to know what you don't like about being a PA. Best wishes to you on studying for the MCAT and medical school! :)
Such honest advice and opinions! Thanks for another awesome video!
But I totally agree with you on the part with the patient interaction.
Is the giveaway over? If not, I'd love the USMLE step 1 textbook!! I was just accepted Into medical school and I'm so excited/nervous!!
Maybe do a video about it :)

hi i'm a second year medical student in morocco and we go into medical school straight after highschool , in the two first years we learn the basics you guys in the US learn in 4 years of college , we learn microbio , anatomy , biology , biophysics , physiologie ... all the basics , and then in 3 rd year we start learning about pathologie pharmacologie and the stuff you guys learn in first year of med school , its different but we learn everything you guys learn , our medical school is 5 years of classes and clinicals and then 2 years just clinicals which in those two years u pass an exam to become an interne if you succeed if not u continue as an externe and get your diploma in general medecine , so its like 7 years long to be a General practitioner
!! also to get into med school in my country you need to pass an admission test which is pretty hard , and they pick 300 students from 1800 people !!
