    What motor is in this and how much torque does it have

    • @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER
      @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a IP45 rated 48v AC motor made by Schabmuller. It produces 119 ft/lbs of torque and 30hp peak.

    I'd like to see some REAL testing. Like, the mountains in Colorado. I would definitely put solar panels on it.

      I have a customer that is going to take me for a demo on some of the bluffs that he hunts in the spring and I will post a video.

      @@BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER I'd like to see that. I'm planning a very long vacation, and would like to put an electric utv in my toy hauler. I'm not planning on getting radical or anything, just something to fetch firewood, or up a draw to a mountain trout lake. I have a rough, mountain type terrain, piece of property and have had great success with a 2wd golf cart (with tractor tread back tires). Amazing where it will go! The key is, high quality batteries. Do you have any plans on testing solar?

    • @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER
      @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I upgraded this customer with high capacity AGMs and he has been super impressed with the range so far...the limitation on the solar is the space required to produce adequate output to effectively "charge" the batteries...the best you would be able to do from an integrated standpoint would extend the range slightly by providing a "trickle" charge via solar....if you were looking to be off grid for a while, you could bring a larger array of panels and setup a "charging station" with a higher output....design is pretty simple since you are working with DC all you would need is your panels and and a charge controller....I will hopefully be looking to test a couple different setups in the near future

      @@BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER Agree. That is how I'm going to configure my outfit. My towing vehicle, will be my power generation station. It will be set up with an off-grid cabin solar system, parked in the sun, while my camper is parked in the shade. I see what you mean, that it would be impracticable to have a seperate solar system, just for the utv. Look forward to the spring video!

    Even a wild guess on range miles might be helpful here. And the deer will hear this also.

    • @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER
      @BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Deer hear everything especially standing broadside:) I am guessing that this electric UTV may be a little less startling and will leave less of a residual "footprint" from it's gas counterpart.
      Range is highly dependent on a lot of factors including load, tire pressure, terrain, driving style, etc. I would say under ideal conditions you are looking at 25 miles max but in hilly conditions and loaded down it may be as little as 10. I have been looking at larger capacity AGM battery upgrades that have about 20% higher capacity, but they cost $2,400 for a set of 8. I have also dabbled with the concept of an integrated solar range extender, but I don't have any real world data as of yet. Let me know if you have any further questions!

      @@BensonAceHardwareBensonPOWER you seem to be the leading expert on the Intimidator Classic 48V model! This range info is VERY hard to come by. Are these numbers with the factory standard batteries or the "upgraded" high cap AGMs you sourced? Is the 48V Classic going to have a 2021 model? Any idea what the changes may be? Also, the customer that took this model how is their satisfaction level? Do you have anymore video or any chance your customer wants to give us a "one year later" review :) I am dying to get one but its a big investment for a UTV and hard to find one to test drive within a few hundred miles. Thanks for taking the time to post this info.

      @@m88shuttleman numbers above are for the standard battery. They will be continuing the 48v in to 2021 with no major changes that I am aware of. Have sold 4 units so far and all have been extremely satisfied. May be able to work on some real life reviews:) Will be hoping to shoot some videos with a customer on some hunting bluffs that he travels in which he has been more then impressed with the capabilities.
