The term influencer creeps me out and always has honestly it sounds so gross I don’t want to be influenced by a bunch of strangers getting paid to lie to me
I COULDNT AGREE MORE, THANK YOU! Its SO NICE to hear another creator talking about this, I think that getting a loyal audience will be MUCH harder than it used to be, but if you can manage to do it, your audience will be very loyal, even being able to have fans is a privilege, and should be treated as such, not as an entitlement. Honestly we NEED this and im happy its happening, being a content creator is such a blessing and those of us that overlook this blessing and take advantage of their fans are goin to start being held acoutable because the stadards are being raised. I also think that in some ways SMALLER CREATORS will benefit from this as people will find it easier to trust smaller creators rather than larger ones.
I'm a small creator and I've had small brands send their fans after me because a product didn't work out for my dog and I shared the experience in my review. I buy 99% of the products I review. But brands only want positive reviews, not honest reviews. I don't really care about the backlash. I appreciate honest reviews.
I'm glad to see the back of traditional influencers. They bring nothing to the table. But I have seen a few sponsored posts recently by some of my favourite comedy / sketch accounts on Instagram and they've been super refreshing and feel genuinely authentic.
What you’re saying is just 100% true I honestly believe that organic takes way too long. It’s like you have to stretch yourself eight arms deep to get the following.. I’ve worked with a lot of clients that are having issues growing their channels and growing their following .. Being authentic is one thing, but getting the reach is the question …
I look at this as a good thing for people who won’t fall off and stick it through for 5-10+ years and also have an honest brand. Like the stock market: when we’re in a recession, it’s the best time to invest.
I tend to steer away from new creators I find out who have more than a couple million subscribers. I feel that it's pretty safe to assume that they are just a product at thay point and they don't have a community anymore, they are too big to interact with the audience in a meaningful way. The exception to that are creators that I subscribed to when they were relatively small and even after blowing up they are still authentic.
Opinion: Makes sense for creators to start thinking about creating their own products/services. Content might not look as fake if you have skin in the game.
I must say, for myself. . .I wanted to be an indie actor who created their own shorts, skits, and webisodes. This has been very hard cause I wasn't trained in the digital age. I was trained where you still got on a stage and did your thing! So, this has been very humbling & lonely process for me. Cause I never wanted to be an "influencer" or whatever the hell.
I’m a very small creator here on TH-cam and Instagram. My niche is camera gear, and videography in general. I have made videos just simple talking head videos that have done real well considering how small I am but what I’m doing is being honest. In my space a creator will get flown out to another country, everything paid for and then the brand asks them to make a review. Like come on guys what do you think the review will look like?! If I get sent a product and I don’t like it I will say why I don’t like it and perhaps how the brand can improve. The brands that I really like I will praise for all the right reasons and it’s truly deserved. Honest real conversations with other people and providing value is where it’s at ALWAYS!
in my opinion social will still be dominent , i think what will pump are the creator who makes real unedited long 30mins+ videos , something like sam sulek ,and if you notice this kind of creators are growing fast , i had a channel with over 100k subs , i gave it up and i start this one im writting from to make real authentıc content , it was hard at the beginning but now its growing and audience told me in the comment that they like less less edited videos . so mybe thats what will be the future on social media , unedited long videos that look somehow like reality tv but with extreme honesty
People get over saturated by publicity on social, tv and everywhere and that affects their ROI for years and they seem to not acknowledge it... Very soon companies will have a serious problem on their hands. People like myself are allergic to it for years. I even pay to NOT see any ads on YT.
Ive never understood brands paying so much for sponsorship with influencers. The ROI must be so low and such a high risk. The 08 financial crash is a great analogy, MrBeast is your AAA mortgage but the market is saturation by BBB mortgages/influencers.
Hey Dominik could you possibly do a video about the implications of using Instagram's new mass remove followers option? I have seen many advisors over the years say never remove a lot of followers at once and now this tool is saying I should remove 1700 people 😮😮 I'm hesitant but I'm also getting no reach currently and if having dead or not followers is at fault then I need to remove them? Thanks as always...your channel is awesome
I just do this for fun and glory. I mean, it's a poem video channel. You don't do that because you expect money. I even pay to promote videos just because I like to show off.
Let me put it this way everything needs a reset markets, politics and social media going along with it. What i imagine is influencers will be bought into a company. The influencers are the new spin doctors. We are entering the fourth turning and all industries i feel will mirror them.
I run a social media for music and production becasue it was orginially the main way i got work. Id have people messeaging me for session work recording and editing. Ive recently been trying to get back into it posting 3 times a week with higher quality content focusing specifically on audio. Because its something i know about and have been asked to help with. Ive been stuck at 350 followers for about 1year is it even worth contuining with social media
I can’t wait for it to burst. So many repetitive and toxic values. I follow basically all cats, cooking, gardening, travelling, science, history related accounts though.
Do anyone else have problems with reach and views on tik tok? Literally the videos that uses to have 50 k views( with same amount of likes, comments, retention) now strugle to get 5000. I see this even with the big creators like Mike o Hearn. Whats happening with the reach, does somebody know?
Could it be that brands made a mistake by partnering with lifestyles instead of concepts? for instance Mr Beast he's literally the king of concepts(well in my opinion) we barely get to know what he ate last night or something from a lifestyle perspective.
I miss the days when you made videos on a roof top in your black leather jacket. Those were the best videos. I have enjoyed all your videos, but those were the best :)
Totally, this cyberspace has gotten worse with all the hyped-up contents by those ill-intended (yes, you are right) youtube made content creators, sub-par & junk contents.
What if someone wants to achieve organic branding and genuinely help their audience by creating content on TH-cam or Instagram, but doesn't want to be called an "influencer"? What term can be used for this activity that doesn't carry the negative connotations often associated with "influencers"? You might suggest "content creator," but this term is quite broad. For instance, someone who writes articles for a website is also considered a "content creator." Am I right?
Amazing video. I know you get thousands of these questions, but I really need an expert opinion on My account's status. The story is this: I started my account in 2022 and I grow to 700 followers in 3 weeks [average 4000 views and 250 likes on reels]. I am an English teacher from Iran and my content resonated with my audience. Two months into making videos for my page, Instagram got filtered and I couldn't post anything for I think 8 months. In 2023 I started again but nothing happened. Since 2023 It's been on and off many times. My account doesn't seem to reach my own audience. My question is that is it a good idea to start a new account? Or should keep it?
Dominink, I re-edited your video and sent you through mail just because you said you're hiring. You're one of my favourite creators and i would love to work with you. I have that skill and expertise to work with you. Please reply my mail
Who here misses the old Myspace, Top 8, AIM and ICQ sounds? 😄
Me sometimes! I realized recently that I also miss forums.
That knock to enter a room... I heard it recently and it brought back so many memories.
Myspace was fun.
We used to get on there and just act a fool with our friends like it was a private party.
talk about how to target people in certain countries if that is possible.
ha ha ha love Myspace, getting those HTML skins to work to make them look sick, also the music player was the one
The term influencer creeps me out and always has honestly it sounds so gross I don’t want to be influenced by a bunch of strangers getting paid to lie to me
100% agree
“Creator” is a worse term
I COULDNT AGREE MORE, THANK YOU! Yup. As a Content Creator who ACTUALLY cares about making content, I'm so excited to see this collapse.
Most people who call themselves influencers aren't worth following. The genuine people aren't so narcissistic.
agreed
YUP!!!!
I look at this as a good thing for people who won’t fall off and stick it through for 5-10+ years and also have an honest brand. Like the stock market: when we’re in a recession, it’s the best time to invest.
Based on what I have observed, the influencer bubble is facing a downturn due to oversaturation and changing audience preferences.
yes agreed. I actually talked about this a few months ago in a video ✌️
I tend to steer away from new creators I find out who have more than a couple million subscribers.

Of course. Imo that’s the only viable long game
I must say, for myself. . .I wanted to be an indie actor who created their own shorts, skits, and webisodes.

Stick with it and thank yourself in a year or two from now 💪

Your videos are always exactly what I need to hear!
Awesome, thanks!
MKBHD is also part of the problem, Louis Rossman called him out on the Apple repair propaganda, Quite rightly so.
Interesting, I didn’t know that!

I work in marketing and the word "Influencer" makes me wanna puke everytime
I just watch because I like the way you speak about things
You are right 😊. I’m doing that and enjoy myself
Wonderful
I just do this for fun and glory. I mean, it's a poem video channel. You don't do that because you expect money. I even pay to promote videos just because I like to show off.
It probably is and blue ticks maybe mandatory soon. I am not going to pay for reach, but some people will if it's a business.
Let me put it this way everything needs a reset markets, politics and social media going along with it. What i imagine is influencers will be bought into a company. The influencers are the new spin doctors. We are entering the fourth turning and all industries i feel will mirror them.

It be awesome to know what you think of my brand.

TikTok's reach has tanked. 2019-2021 was the prime years to blow up. Nowadays, Tik Tok is going through an identity crisis competing with TH-cam
Could be a good thing in the long term if the bad actors leave.
You're alright. We dont want you to be marinade too.
can we please go back to 2010-2015 before these Cringe-fluencers and AI jerkoffs showed up. when we had quality movies, music and youtube
Could it be that brands made a mistake by partnering with lifestyles instead of concepts? for instance Mr Beast he's literally the king of concepts(well in my opinion) we barely get to know what he ate last night or something from a lifestyle perspective.
Great video❤ Thank you as always✌️
Yes, cant stand influencers and personal brands
I miss the days when you made videos on a roof top in your black leather jacket. Those were the best videos. I have enjoyed all your videos, but those were the best :)
Really interesting video! Thank you 😊
The older I get the less I want to own/buy.
Great video!
Totally, this cyberspace has gotten worse with all the hyped-up contents by those ill-intended (yes, you are right) youtube made content creators, sub-par & junk contents.
1113 | O M G, I wouldn’t do this but it’s funny I was able to catch it. Good one, Dom. Cheers.
haha thanks!
7:27 Hey Dom, you made a typo there, should be MISSING , not MISSION. 😅 (ok, I’ll get back to the video now)😊
curious about your lighting set up
I'm still waiting for the first AI-Influencer bot - and it will come !
love this
yoo Aniq my man!
Where is his accent from?
He burnt his tongue drinking a cup of coffee that was too hot.
I burned it in hell 👹
Sounds German or Austrian

I‘d say creator is the new actual term for us genuine ones out there
Good video :)
thanks so much!
Counterpoint: Sam Sulek.
And you? Are you honest, Dominik?
Time to cancel Insta360 lol
... oh really, now they believe Trump and his BS, but "tired of influencers", wow
Don't tell me you think Biden is a better candidate?
Any politician is BS

My reach so far is 28M and my last reel got 686 likes and 12M. Anyone can do this as struggled to get 1000 followers.
