- Miss Lou -- Dr. Louise Bennett Coverley has made a distinguished contribution to the development of Arts and Culture in both in Jamaica and the Caribbean region at large. Through her skillfully penned prose in Jamaican patois, Miss Lou has been able to raise the folk dialect to an art level now accepted and appreciated by all Jamaicans.

I always complain that Jamaicans are loosing their culture. Beautiful folk songs and a language that is so unique but has been ridiculed by many that we want to hide it in order to fight against the stereotypes that we a ignorant.
I LOVE IT. Thanks for uploading
It's worse now. I feel we are losing too much of our roots and culture man. We're yielding to globalisation.
I learned this song one of the many times, I visited Jamaica as a child.
I had never heard of this woman before we sang this song in choir and it’s a damn shame. I’m not Jamacian but the pure unadulterated happiness I feel when I hear it makes me cry tears of joy. She brings a type of fun and a love of music and community to her performance that I see in few other people.
Love it. Born in England. Jamaican roots.
