    That’s one sweet ride ! Nice little scoop as well , as they are worth a pretty penny to collectors. All in all one tight little package . Well done to you sir !

    great bikes you have a series 2 denoted by the straight rear forks and rotated seat tube just keep an. eye on the rear pivot as they can seize if not regular greased well done!

    I just watched a promo video 1963 on the Moulton bike, nice piece of history you have there. I saw one on, I can't remember, if it was ebay or craigslist in pieces. I knew nothing about the bike so I just moved on. I will now keep an eye out for one.

      Thank you :) I have seen pics of the model that came with drop bars, I agree it does look cool, I really like fast little bikes :)

    These are cool little bikes - I've just started rebuilding one into rideable condition and there is so much corrosion - but the basics will be fine with a good fettle. Yours looks in good nick, just cosmetics but otherwise sound.

      Hi Des Gibbons , thanks for your comment, I'm sure I've seen you about on the Moulton and Twenty/RSW groups, I am already in the f frame group, it was there that I got my deluxe, but thank you for the invite 🙂 I am on the lookout for a new front wheel, and a front rack, my 4 speed hub also needs some attention

    As a fellow moultoneer, I'm quite jealous of your find. Mine is a Kirkby 1966 standard heavily nodded. Let us know your progress.

      Ah that sounds nice, I like modded bikes :) I will have to post an update soon, I cleaned up some of the chrome on this bike, but sadly the spindle and cones in the front wheel were knackered, so she's on a spare RSW mk3 front wheel I had lying around until I can chase those bits down. I also need to rebuild the bottom bracket and give it a new chain and sprocket. I think the headset could also do with a rebuild and she isn't getting 4th gear at the moment, I'm told this is a problem with a spring inside the hub. Thanks for your comment :)

    Bobby I think white wall tires will do the trick for that Bike.

    Fortunately you've got the version of the F frame Moulton with the stronger rear forks, the early ones are really fragile, and wouldn't stand up to any spirited riding. I'd suggest taking the rear suspension pivot bolt out and checking for condition, and if its ok, just lubricating, if not, Moulton Preservation can supply you with a nice new brass one. Also you can lose some weight by replacing a lot of the steel with alloy, bars, seat post, even rims if you can afford to. Likewise some high pressure tyres (Schwalbe, Brompton if the latter still available) in replacement of the originals, running at up to 100psi improves low rolling resistance and the effectiveness of the suspension no end.

      Hi there, thank you very much for the tips, I have taken the Moulton off the road and plan to rebuild it over the winter. I'll be replacing the chain and sprocket, and I'm gonna rebuild the bottom bracket and headset. I've left the rear wheel with my friend to take a look at. I shall check the rear suspension pivot, do you know if Moulton preservation sell spindles? I need a new one for the front wheel. I bought a front rack but I'm afraid to say it's the wrong one, so I shall have to find a swap or save it for my next Moulton :D I shall look into those tyres, due to the agreement I have with the previous keeper of this bike I won't modify it much, but if I get another I could do a nice lightweight build on that :)

      @@bobbykbikes Not sure about spindles, but there are bound to be spares around or maybe even new old stock, try Mike Woolf at Moulton Preservation, he's a helpful chap:

      @bobbykbikes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, it must be that Brompton tyres are a good replacement, lucky for me the previous owner threw in two brand new Raleigh tyres that fit :)
