  • If you have the "Game Optimizing Service" system app running on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet then this video can help to improve CPU and GPU performance in games.

    Video Description
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    There's been a lot of discussion about how some of Samsung's newest smartphones handles thermal throttling of the SoC before it becomes an issue. This issue involves an application called the Game Optimizing Service (also being referred to as GOS), and it's currently installed on the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy S22.
    I assume it's also doing this on the recent Galaxy Note series devices as well as many other Samsung Galaxy smartphones that have this app installed. But I have yet to see these mentioned in the recent tests that have been going around.
    What's happening is that Samsung wants to prevent these phones from getting too hot and using too much of your battery life when playing some of the most popular Android games. The way they are doing this is by using the Game Optimizing Service app, and just making sure the CPU and GPU cores do not hit max frequency for long periods of time.
    This has upset a large number of people as they are being prevented from leveraging ALL of the hardware that their phones are capable of.
    Samsung has come out and explained their reasoning behind the actions, but says they understand where the community is coming from and will including an optional toggle for this feature in the future.
    For now, though, many Samsung smartphone users are wanting a way to stop this service from throttling their smartphone.
    And sadly, Samsung has made it incredibly difficult for us to do if we're on OneUI 4.0 or higher. Usually, I would just point people to my Uninstall Bloatware tutorials that I use ADB & Fastboot tools for. But if we do this without root access then the operating system will instantly enable the app again.
    So we have to go through a different process to block Samsung's Game Optimizing Service from throttling our phones.
    See, the way this works is the app connects to Samsung's servers and downloads a list of application package names that it needs to target. And this is the weak spot of the operation since we can block apps from accessing the internet thanks to a free app in the Play Store called NetGuard.
    Now, this process is quite detailed and needs to be done in a specific way. Failing to follow the steps exactly could allow these apps to gain internet access. And that will require you to repeat these steps all over again if you want to play mobile games on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone without being throttled.
    We can simply search for the word NetGuard in Google Play in order to find it, and let's go ahead and install the application right here.
    This completes the whole tutorial and now you are able to play your mobile games without any CPU or GPU throttling. This should result in games like PUBG, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Shadowgun Legends and many others performing much better than before. Some are seeing a small 2-5% increase in FPS while others are seeing much better results after we have blocked these apps from accessing the internet.
    Fair warning though. Samsung put these restrictions in place for a reason. Sometimes this is to prevent the phone from heating up for long periods of time while other times it's just to save you some battery life. But if you want to unleash the full potential of your hardware, then go through these steps to stop the Game OPtimizing SErvice from throttling your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
    Started seeing the game booster notification on my A53 recently. It was so annoying! Why do they keep pushing stuff on customers that we always hate? And to make matters worse, it's stuff we can't usually do anything about without the aid of third party apps, and a lot of technical know-how.
    Damn disgusting!
    Shovelling stuff down our throats that we damn well didn't ask for...
    Thanks bro! My FPS in games was more stable at max CODM and ApexM. Even that Guardian app didn't disabled well the GOS before. It makes sense to block internet access on GOS. This app runs on the background though and it did heat up a bit but totally fine. It was hotter on PuBg when normal gos throtling. Just don't abuse graphics settings on games.
    Had been playing a mobile game for close to a year, picked up a s22 figuring it'd be a cool new phone and offer a boost to the game performance. Much to my horror the game would randomly freeze and I was thinking I'd have to replace the phone or quit the game, but this fixed it. Thank you!
    Hi , using a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE , so I do see a Increase in performance and Touch Latency Response is better.(gos increase touch latency)
    But it comes with a cost, touch isn't consistent , multiple touch causes ghosting when gaming for example holding two fingers on the screen one for movement and one for abilities targeting(moba games) I often get a sudden lost in touch for maybe like a split second , which leads to abilities activating Earlier than Intended to or character stops moving.
    Any idea of how and why GOS increase touch latency? Because my intention to disable gos was because of the input lag ... but just to resolve and evolve into a new problem...
So note 9 max details, note 20 ultra low details and i dont start with team and dont ever see countdown clock. Iam pissed. Could provie vid if needed. Someone needs to start a duit.
    I stopped buying Samsung phones and buy gaming phones instead like redmagic or blackshark, they have way better cooling and specs and the option to turn off thermal throttling but only do that if you have a cooling fan.
    Samsung are even using users internal storage as virtual ram when gaming phones like Blackshark let you use the ram as storage temporarily.
      @@ExplainingAndroid I still use my blackshark 3 pro more but won a red magic 6s pro, I use them both and both have their advantages like blackshark has much better gaming software and hardware but it uses a custom miui called joyui, the controllers and fun cooler 2 I use a lot and it helps keeps the battery healthy while gaming.
      The red magic 6s pro is stock android so it boots up super fast and has most of its storage free, the gaming features are good but not quite as good as blacksharks, the internal cooling fan does shift some heat too.
      I'm waiting for Blackshark 5 pro to release to see it compared with the red magic 7 pro which is an absolute beast, blackshark normally come out on top but even if they don't I'll stick with them because I think they make the best gaming phones imo.
