    Ronnie plays the 3 most important shots of this final with his left hand. From 15:01 he plays the red, to cover for Pink, then pots the pink casually with his left (probably the most important shot of the tournament), then again plays the red with his left hand. This guy is a genius!

    I'm of the opinion now that O'Sullivan doesn't need to equal or beat Hendry's world titles to be considered the better player. You can make a very good case for either player being the GOAT, but for me it's the whole collection of O'Sullivan records that swing it in his favour, not just his record in any one event.
    O'Sullivan has more major titles (triple crowns), more centuries, more maximums, longer time playing at the highest level.
    Yes, Hendry dominated his era for nigh on a decade, and there were less ranking events to win, but in my opinion the strength in depth on the tour now is stronger than ever and more people are capable of winning titles than back in the late 80's and 90's.
    Add to that accolades such as taking a year off and retaining the world championship, returning to world number 1 despite playing in considerably fewer tournaments - That's why in my opinion he's the greatest ever.

    The best and most impressive break of O'Sullivan's career for me, bar none. His 92 against Carter was magic, his clearance against Harold in the 2007 NI Trophy outrageous, and of course there's all his 147s...But this was in a deciding frame of a ranking event final, against his (then) arch-rival, with black out of commission for the entire frame and the pink and blue unavailable for the first half of the break, too. An amazing display of positional play, tactical thinking and composure under pressure.

    • @EvanTrimble

    • @captmcneil
      @captmcneil 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +TheRedCapitalist There's some quality youtube content for you. Hendry should have retired, because second place in major tourneys is clearly unworthy of anyone's time. In addition he should have declined the prize money because that way it looks as if he needs it, which makes him equal to losers such as White and Davis, wo dare to play just because they enjoy it, right? Well, shame Hendry couldn't have gone down in style as he could have with your attitude.
